The place was filled with people walking minding their business. Kim looked up, the sky is beginning to change color and she needed someone to pass the night at.
She walked closer to a man who was arranging his goods for the day.
"Hello excuse me. Where am I?" she asked him.
The man stared at her for long before making a loud whistle drawing the attention of everyone.
Kim wondered why he was doing so. She stood waiting for him to answer her question and before she knew it, she was surrounded by many people.
"She is the Mistress of the cruel President"
"We should burn her"
"We should kill her right now"
Kim shook in fear upon hearing them. This was all Alexander's fault, he dragged her into this.
"I don't know who you're talking about. I just need a place to stay, I promise to leave tomorrow"
The people refused to listen. They walked closer holding.
Just before they could strike her, a man came from nowhere and walked to her. He gave them a warning look and the people left to continue what they were doing. The man offered his hand to Kim and she took it standing up.
He opened his car door and gestured for Kim to get inside. "What's your name?"
"Kim"
"I'm Elvis"
"Where are we going?" Kim asked after a long time.
"My home, to keep you safe from the villagers," he said. He drove for a long time till he reached a small house.
The man went inside and came back with a beautiful woman. She seemed to be in her late thirties with long black hair and round eyes.
"This is my wife Milla. Milla this is Kim" he introduced.
Milla gave him a questioning look before stepping forward to meet Kim. "Please come inside"
It was a small house but it was neat and comfortable. Kim could see Milla glancing at her husband now and then giving him a questioning look. From the way she looked at him, she wasn't expecting someone to join them.
Elvis spoke to his wife about Kim staying there for a few days but the woman wasn't comfortable with the idea.
After eating dinner, Milla showed Kim to her room.
"There are few clothes in the wardrobe. The bathroom is right there, wash your body and sleep" Milla said before closing the door.
When the water touched her skin, all the dirt washed away. Kim poured the water over her head till all the dirt clogging her skin loosened and fell gracefully. She used the soap to wash her hair and body.
Once she was done bathing, she wore a simple dress the woman gave her before laying down.
Kim tried to sleep but she couldn't close her eyes. She was afraid Alexander would find her and take her back.
The next day, she woke up to the sound of angry voices from outside the room. Loud footsteps followed and the door to the room flung open.
Standing at the door was Milla wearing an angry expression. Her face darkened as she stared deep into Kim.
"Who are you?" Milla asked accusingly.
Kim got confused as she stood up and stared at her.
"Who are you?" Milla repeated the question. "Don't even try to lie to me"
"This….." the woman pointed to her phone screen. "This is you. Why is the President looking for you?"
Kim's gaze shifted to the phone in her hand. She realized that Milla found out about her true identity. Kim didn't know what to say because she already know about her.
"I should have known with your long black hair and your skin that you're married to the President," Milla said angrily. "I knew that I have seen you somewhere maybe on the Tv but I don't know exactly"
Elvis stared at her with pity but he couldn't go against his wife's decision.
"The President promised to persecute anyone he found with you" Milla continued. "Just leave!"
"She has nowhere to go," Elvis said when Kim took a step forward.
"That's none of our business" Milla snapped.
"I will leave," Kim said. "Thank you for the food and shelter"
Just as Kim was about to go outside, a young girl appeared in front of her. The girl was tall and dressed in military uniform.
Kim's eyes widened in surprise upon realizing who was standing there.
"Kim you're alive," Blue said in disbelief.
Before Kim opened her mouth to say something Milla and her husband rushed to them.
"Blue you're back! Ohh how I missed you" Milla said as she hugged Blue.
Blue's eyes were still fixed on Kim who was standing. She didn't believe she would be alive. Rumor said that she was killed by the President after he took her home. The rest team was released and they relocated deep inside the forest where they made their camp. No food, no network, no phone. They stayed there practicing.
"Mom?" Blue pointed towards Kim who was standing like a statue with her head down.
"She's leaving" Milla blatantly said.
"Leaving? Mom, do you know her?" Blue asked.
"Yes, that's why she's leaving" Milla muttered.
"No!" Blue rushed to Kim and hugged her. "We thought you were dead"
"I… I... I'm leaving" Kim said.
"Why? Please don't go" Blue said.
"Just let her go" Milla rolled her eyes.
Blue ignored her mother and said to Kim. "Please don't leave. I just came back from camp, we should spend time together please"
"Do you know her?" Milla asked.
"Yes, she's the girl I told you about who saved me from a big snake. She's my friend" Blue said before turning to Kim. "Please don't go. We should eat breakfast together"
Blue pulled Kim along to the kitchen to make breakfast. Milla wasn't happy with the idea of Kim staying with them. She left the room with a frown.
