They came out of the bus one after the other. Kim could hear her heart beating faster than normal. This was a risky task.
The soldiers at the gate became guarded upon seeing other troops of soldiers. Chaos erupted and within minutes, gunshots began to fire at them.
Kim took her stance as she ran her fingers through the gun. She breathed out allowing her inner beast to take over.
As she closed her eyes, memories of what happened on that dreadful night flooded inside her head.
It was nighttime already. She sat on the couch watching movies. Her parents were super rich. They never allowed her to do the house chores.
Then she heard voices outside. She put on her robe and walked outside to see what was going on. Some of the servants followed her.
Reaching outside, Kim saw a group of men. They had sad expressions on their faces.
"What is going on?" Kim asked. The men stood in fear not knowing where to start. Both husband and wife had a car accident while returning from an important meeting and they died.
She then realized these were the men that followed her parents to the meeting.
"Where are my parents?"
"T…. T…. They"
The brave one among them stepped forward and explained everything that happened to her.
Without warning, she felt a pang of shock shake her heart. Her brain went numb and fear took over her. Her heart quiver in pain and it spread throughout her whole body.
How come? She had just got admission to study in one of the popular universities for heiresses in country Z. Why did this have to happen? Why?
Tears of pain flew down her burning cheek. She tucked in a panic breath as her lips trembled in fear. Her face turned pale instantly and she couldn't think straight.
After her parent's burial, her Uncle and Aunt came and took everything. They took the house and company, nothing was left for Kim. Feeding became a very hard task. She went to University and attended lectures till the school drove her because she wasn't able to pay her school fees.
She was left alone in this wicked world to fend for herself. One day, met Blue who gave her the idea to join the military.
At first, the training was difficult but she soon got used to it.
"Kim!" her eyes opened and she saw General standing close to her. "Focus!"
SWASH!
Kim quickly dodged the bullet that was flying toward her. She unlocked the trigger and shot straight at the soldier standing in front of her. She dodged the other bullet coming toward her.
The smell of blood hit her nose. She could hear the soldiers screaming as the bullets went straight into them.
She loaded her gun with more bullets firing at their opponents. More teams of soldiers came out firing at them. She marveled at how fast and calculative she was. She never expected to be this strong. She hadn't gone to war before so she wasn't experienced, unlike Blue.
She aimed for the leader but he managed to dodge. He dug his foot onto the ground and shot the man close to Kim.
"Victor!" she yelled as she slowly moved to him helping him get back to his feet. The gun went straight into his knee. He couldn't stand up.
"I'm still alive" he nodded his head. But Kim knew he wasn't fine. He might not survive the gunshot.
"General we should retreat. Victor is down!" she said.
"No turning back. Keep moving" he said. "Tisha take him back to the camp and treat his wound"
"Okay General" Tisha reached for him and grabbed his arm.
"Stay still. Don't die!" she put his arm around her shoulders and her arm around his waist.
"I'm not dying, fool!" he cursed under his breath. The pain was unbearable. They managed to get inside the Van and she drove him back to camp.
Kim got annoyed and aimed at the leader. The bullet went into his skull and he fell.
"How many of our men down?" The general asked.
"Five!" she loaded the gun with more bullets and shot their opponents without mercy. Within an hour, all the soldiers were dead.
"Andrew!"
"General"
"You and ten others should move to the vice house and put him on house arrest"
Andrew nodded before he and the team left for the vice house.
General and the others moved forward into the president's house. They shot every obstacle in their way. Reaching the President's room, they found him there.
When one of the governors heard about the coup that stormed into the President's house, he got alert. The President was stepping down. If ever the country went back to a military regime, his family's life would be at stake.
He called another team of soldiers and they stormed into the President's house surrounding the place.
Inside the President's house, everything was going well as planned. Once the President announced stepping down, immediately, the soldiers would decide who will rule next.
Kim could feel the air buzzing on her skin. She could sense danger around her and she had the urge to run. The President was given the documents to sign first before announcing his step down.
Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself. In an instant, they were surrounded by other groups of soldiers. They were so many that she couldn't count them all.
They created space and a man dressed in a black suit stepped forward. Kim quickly recognized him as a governor.
"How foolish of you to take down the President" he let out a dark chuckle that made Kim terrified. This was it. They were going to die. Even if they started shooting, they wouldn't be able to kill them all. Most importantly, shooting a governor means digging your own grave.
"You all are accused of trying to take the president down. You'll be taken to the cell where your punishment would be decided" he said.
The soldiers stepped forward and they quickly shackled their hands with handcuffs.
They pushed them out of the house and ushered them inside a black Van.
Kim was lost in thoughts wondering what would happen after they decide their case. What they did was an unforgivable crime. Planning to overthrow the president. She had heard of how soldiers in the past had tried overthrowing the president but it ended in disaster.
