Chapter 2 - Grieve, Promise, Heavenly Beast Devouring Technique

Wei Zhao walked out of his house and saw that the village was in a state of mourning. The villagers were gathered together, grieving over the loss of their loved ones.

As he approached, he saw Liu Hao standing off to the side, his body wrapped in bandages like a mummy. Wei walked up to him and asked him what had happened.

"Luckily, you survived," Liu Hao said, his voice weak. "but I was badly injured in the process."

Liu Hao was Wei Zhao's group leader and the only survivor of the beast encounter. Despite being badly injured, Liu managed to carry Wei's lifeless body back to the village.

When they arrived, the villagers were shocked to see them return that way, but relieved to find out that Liu had managed to save Wei. The village chief worked tirelessly to revive Wei, but it seemed that his injuries were too severe. Just as all hope seemed lost, the Beast Annihilation System inside Wei's body suddenly activated, healing Wei Zhao's wounds right before everyone. The village chief was shocked to see Wei Zhao healing almost instantly.

As Wei Zhao lessened, he realized that his cultivation had been reset to the early stage of the Qi gathering stage. He was determined to catch up to his previous level of strength and beyond.

Wei felt a pang of guilt. If he was strong enough his friends would still be alive.

"I'm sorry," he said to Liu Hoa. "I wasn't able to help when attacked by that beast."

Liu Hoa shook his head. "It's not your fault," he said. "We all knew the risks of venturing out into the wilderness. We just didn't expect to run into a beast like that."

Wei nodded, still feeling guilty. He looked around at the grieving villagers and made a promise to himself.

"I won't let this happen again," he said. "I'll do everything in my power to protect our village and our people."

Wei Zhao made his way through the village, determined to pay his respects to his fallen friends. He knew that nothing could bring them back, but he wanted to honor their memory in his own way.

As he approached the houses of his friends, he saw their families gathered outside, grieving over their loss. Wei's heart sank as he realized just how much pain and sorrow the beast attack had caused.

He walked up to the families and bowed his head in respect. "I'm so sorry for your loss," he said, his voice filled with sorrow. "Your children were my friends, and I promise to do everything in my power to make sure that their deaths were not in vain."

The families looked up at him, their eyes filled with tears. They knew that Wei had been through the same ordeal and that he too had lost people he cared about.

"We believe in you, Wei," one of the fathers said, his voice shaking with emotion. "We know that you'll do whatever it takes to protect our village and our people."

Wei nodded, feeling a sense of responsibility weighing heavily on his shoulders. He knew that he had a long and difficult journey ahead of him, but he was willing to do whatever it took to become the strongest warrior in the land.

He spent the rest of the day with the families, sharing their grief and offering what little comfort he could. As the sun began to set, he made his way back to his house, knowing that he had a lot of work to do if he was going to fulfill his promise.

As he approached his house he saw Liu Hoa standing before his house. As Liu Hoa saw him he started to walk toward the village River. Wei Zhao followed behind him.

Wei Zhao and Liu Hao sat by the river, gazing at the calm waters as they spoke.

"I can't believe we lost our friends to that beast," Liu said, his voice filled with pain and regret. "We promised them we'd bring back food for the village, and instead, we brought back nothing but death."

Wei Zhao put a hand on Liu's shoulder. "We did our best," he said. "But we can't change what happened. All we can do now is honor their memory and promise to fight with everything we have to protect our village and our people."

Liu nodded, his eyes filled with determination. "You're right," he said. "We can't let their sacrifice be in vain. We'll fight with all we have to protect our village and defeat the beasts that threaten us."

As they spoke, Wei felt the Beast Annihilation System inside him stir, and he heard a voice in his head, so returned home in a hurry.

As Wei Zhao returned to his house, he sat down on his bed, he felt a strange sensation in his mind. It was almost as if the Beast Annihilation System was trying to communicate with him.

Suddenly, a message appeared in his mind's eye, written in glowing letters. "Congratulations, Host," it read. "You have received a new cultivation technique "Heavenly Beast Devouring Technique", one that will help you become the strongest warrior in the land."

Wei was amazed. He had never heard of anyone receiving a cultivation technique from the system before. He closed his eyes and focused his mind, trying to connect with the system and learn more about this new technique.

As he did so, he felt a rush of energy flow through minded. He could sense that the cultivation technique was powerful, much more so than anything he had ever encountered before. Cultivating the Heavenly Beast Devouring Technique around a slain beast would allow the practitioner to absorb the beast's qi, enhancing their cultivation progress even further. It can also be cultivated anywhere else and still be 10x faster than the cultivation technique The previous Wei Zhao cultivated.

He opened his eyes and stood up, feeling a renewed sense of determination. He knew that he needed to begin cultivating this new technique immediately if he was going to have any chance of defeating the Beast Kings.

He closed his eyes once more and began to meditate, channeling the power of the world into his body. He could feel the energy flowing through him, enhancing Qi by which his strength, agility, and vitality.

Over the next few days, Wei spent most of his time training his Qi and practicing his martial arts. He also spent time exploring the village and getting to know its inhabitants. The village was small but prosperous, surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. To the east, there was a river that provided water for the village, and to the west, there was a dense forest filled with all sorts of dangerous beasts.

Wei also discovered that there were other villages nearby, some of which were friendly, while others were hostile. He knew that he would have to be careful if he wanted to survive in this world and achieve his goals.

With the help of Liu Hao and the villagers, Wei began to create a map of the surrounding area. They marked the locations of other villages, dangerous beasts, and areas of interest. Wei knew that this map would be crucial to his survival and his quest to become the strongest warrior in the land.

Wei Zhao focused on the Beast Annihilation System within him. As he did, he felt a screen materialize in his mind, displaying his stats and cultivation realm.
