Chapter 11 - NO REST FOR THE WICKED 11

The two D and E Hunter Rankers entered the office of the Hunter School Principal and the Hunter Association President, bowing respectfully before delivering their report.

"Please, tell us everything you saw," the Hunter School Principal said, leaning forward in his chair.

"We were assigned to shadow Qing Eena during his Hunter License Test - Rank G at a Rank G Dungeon," the D Hunter Ranker began. "From what we observed, Qing Eena was highly skilled in combat, able to take down multiple goblins at once with ease."

"He had an impressive array of magic items at his disposal, including a flame-throwing gauntlet and a shield that could generate a powerful force field," the E Hunter Ranker added.

The Hunter Association President nodded. "And what about his techniques?"

"He was extremely versatile, utilizing a combination of hand-to-hand combat and ranged attacks," the D Hunter Ranker explained. "His movements were fluid and precise, as if he had been training for this moment his whole life."

"But it was his strategy that impressed us the most," the E Hunter Ranker chimed in. "He was able to lure the goblins into traps and use their own strengths against them."

The Hunter School Principal leaned back in his chair, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "And what of the goblin god? Was he able to defeat it?"

The two Hunter Rankers exchanged a glance before answering. "We're not quite sure what happened, sir. One moment, the goblin god was just a statue, and the next, it was alive and attacking Qing Eena."

"It was unlike anything we had ever seen before," the D Hunter Ranker added. "But Qing Eena remained calm and focused, even when faced with such a formidable opponent."

The Hunter Association President furrowed his brow. "And what of the casualties? Did any of our prospects suffer serious injuries?"

The two Hunter Rankers hesitated before answering. "Yes, sir. A few of them were traumatized by the experience and refused to continue with the test. But we did our best to protect them and ensure their safety."

The Hunter School Principal sighed heavily. "I understand. These tests are brutal, but they are necessary if we want to weed out the weak and train the strongest Hunters."

The Hunter Association President nodded. "Agreed. And it seems like Qing Eena has proven himself to be one of the strongest. We should keep a close eye on him and see where his potential takes him."

The two Hunter Rankers bowed once again before exiting the office, leaving the Hunter School Principal and the Hunter Association President to ponder the implications of their report.

---

The Head Principal of the Hunter School stood before the newly licensed Rank G Hunters, his eyes scanning over their faces as they cheered and hugged each other in celebration. He raised his hands, gesturing for silence.

"Congratulations, my dear graduates," he began, his voice booming through the auditorium. "You have all passed the Rank G Dungeon Trials and proven yourselves to be worthy Hunters. However, it is with a heavy heart that I must interrupt your celebrations, for we have received urgent news."

The room fell silent, the air thick with anticipation. The Head Principal took a deep breath before continuing. "A dungeon flood has been reported near the Sulu Sea. It is a perilous situation and one that requires immediate attention. As Hunters, it is our duty to respond to these calls and protect the people from danger."

The graduates murmured amongst themselves, some looking worried while others appeared excited for the opportunity to prove themselves further. The Head Principal raised a hand to quiet them once again.

"I understand that this news may come as a shock, but as Hunters, it is our duty to face danger head-on. The flood may have destroyed homes and displaced families, and it is our responsibility to ensure their safety. You may be low-rank Hunters, but that does not mean you are not capable of assisting in this situation. I implore you all to answer the call and show the world the true power of the Hunter Association."

The room erupted in cheers once more, the graduates standing tall with renewed determination. The Head Principal smiled at them, proud of their willingness to face this new challenge. "I wish you all luck on this new mission. Remember, as Hunters, you are not just protectors, but also heroes. Go forth and make us proud."

As the graduates filed out of the auditorium, the Head Principal could not help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for these young Hunters. He knew that they would face many more trials and tribulations in the future, but he also knew that they were capable of facing them head-on and emerging victorious. The future of the Hunter Association was in good hands.

---

Lucio and Karla sat anxiously at the kitchen table, their eyes glued to the television screen. The news report was detailing the recent flood in the Sulu Sea and how the Hunter Association had issued a call for all Hunters, regardless of rank, to aid in the rescue and evacuation efforts.

"I can't believe they're calling on our kids to help out in this situation," Karla said, her voice laced with worry.

"I know, it's crazy," Lucio replied, running a hand through his hair. "But we can't stop them from joining the Hunter Operations, it's what they want to do."

Uncle Tito, who was sitting at the table with them, spoke up. "But they just got their Rank G licenses, they're barely qualified to go on simple hunting missions, let alone participate in disaster relief efforts."

Qing, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, interjected. "Guys, don't worry. As low-rankers, we'll probably just be assigned to assist with evacuation efforts or something. We won't be put in any danger."

Karla turned to Qing, a worried expression on her face. "But what if something happens? What if you get hurt?"

Qing put on a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine, Mom. I've trained for this, remember? And I'll have my team with me, we'll watch each other's backs."

Lucio nodded in agreement. "Qing's right. He's proven himself capable during the Rank G trials, and he'll have experienced Hunters with him."

Uncle Tito sighed, rubbing his forehead. "I just wish this wasn't happening so soon. They should have more training before they're thrown into these kinds of situations."

"But that's just how it is," Qing said, standing up from the table. "We wanted to be Hunters, and that means being ready to answer the call when it comes."

The parents looked at each other, unsure of what to say. They knew they couldn't stop their children from following their dreams, but the thought of them being put in harm's way so soon after becoming Hunters was a difficult pill to swallow.

The conversation continued long into the night, as the parents grappled with their fears and uncertainties, and Qing did his best to ease their worries. But no matter how much they talked, the looming reality of the dangerous mission ahead hung heavily in the air.

---

Qing Eena felt his heart pounding in his chest as he looked around at his surroundings. He and a couple of low Rank G Hunters had been "portal sent" directly into the middle of a battlefield, surrounded by chaos and destruction. The air was thick with magic spells, screams of agony, and the stench of death.

A tall, imposing figure approached them, a Rank C Hunter clad in armor and armed with a sword. She introduced herself as Lira and quickly began briefing them on their mission.

"We've been sent to the front lines of the battle to provide support for the troops," Lira explained. "Our job is to protect the mages while they work their magic and to help take out any enemies that get too close. We cannot retreat and we cannot fail. Do you understand?"

Qing nodded, his eyes locked onto Lira's. He was mentally prepared for this, having trained for years in anticipation of this moment. But his fellow Hunters were not as well-equipped to handle the situation. Some were already vomiting from the stress, while others were crying and wailing in terror.

Lira glared at them. "You all knew what you were getting into when you signed up for this. Now is not the time for weakness. You need to focus and be ready to fight for your lives. Are you with me?"

The Hunters nodded, their faces grim and determined.

Qing took a deep breath and tried to push down his fear. He knew he had to be strong for his comrades, but the weight of the situation was almost suffocating. He glanced around at the destruction surrounding them, and a pang of sorrow and desperation gripped him. How many lives had already been lost in this conflict? Would they be next?

But there was no time for doubt. Lira led them forward, and the Hunters followed, their weapons at the ready. Magic spells whizzed by them, and the ground shook with the force of explosions. Qing gritted his teeth and focused on the task at hand, blocking out the sounds of suffering and death around him.

They charged forward, and Qing felt his adrenaline pumping. He wielded his sword with precision and skill, deflecting blows and striking down enemy soldiers. The Hunters fought bravely alongside him, and they began to gain ground.

As Qing Eena fought against the monsters and beasts that poured out from the dungeon portal, he could feel his heart racing with adrenaline. His mind was sharp and focused, his body moving with precision and grace as he dispatched each enemy with ease.

The battlefield was chaotic, with the screams of the wounded and the dying echoing in the air. But Qing was unfazed, his Spacetime Power: Slow allowing him to anticipate every attack and move accordingly.

As he fought, he could hear the whispers of the other Hunters around him. "Have you seen him fight? He's like a monster himself!" "That guy is unreal, he's taking on three beasts at once!"

Qing could feel the weight of their expectations on his shoulders, but he didn't let it distract him from his mission. He knew that the fate of the civilians who were trapped in the dungeon depended on their success.

As he fought on, he saw a group of low-rank Hunters struggling to fend off a particularly vicious beast. Without hesitation, he rushed to their aid and quickly dispatched the enemy, allowing them to regroup and continue the fight.

"Thank you, sir!" one of them exclaimed, breathless and grateful.

"Don't mention it," Qing replied, his voice calm and steady despite the chaos around them. "Just keep fighting, we'll get through this."

As the battle raged on, Qing could feel his stamina beginning to wane. His body was aching and his mind was growing foggy, but he refused to give up. He knew that the lives of countless civilians depended on their success.

But the battle was far from over. The enemy was fierce, and more reinforcements were on the way. Qing felt his muscles straining, and he knew they could not keep up the pace forever. But he refused to give up.

With renewed determination, Qing pushed himself to the limit, fighting harder and faster than ever before.

As the battle raged on and the dungeon flood began to subside, Qing Eena and his fellow Rank G Hunters watched as the main leader of the monsters and beasts, an Orc King Tamer, was taken down by a platoon of Rank B and C Hunters, along with some Rank D Hunters as well. The Orc King Tamer had been a fierce opponent, with his massive size and strength, and it took the combined efforts of the more experienced Hunters to bring him down.

Qing and his fellow Hunters looked on in awe as the battle unfolded before them. "Wow, look at them go," one of the Hunters said. "They're like a well-oiled machine."

"They make it look so easy," another Hunter replied. "I hope I can be that good one day."

Qing watched as the Hunters worked together, each one playing their own role in the fight. "It's all about teamwork," he said. "They're each doing their part to take down that Orc King Tamer."

As the battle came to a close, the Hunters cheered and congratulated each other on their victory. Qing felt a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that he had played a small part in the battle. He looked around at his fellow Rank G Hunters and saw the determination in their eyes.

"We'll get there someday," he said to them. "We just have to keep training and working together."

The other Hunters nodded in agreement, and Qing knew that they would all continue to strive to become better Hunters, to one day be able to take down a foe as powerful as the Orc King Tamer.
