Chapter 1 - INTRODUCTION

The opening scene of the saga story depicts a rich Nigerian family, the Baloguns, enjoying a Sunday afternoon meal in the luxurious Banana Island, Lagos. Despite being a powerful player in Nigerian politics, Chief Balogun is shown to be just like any other human, with flaws and imperfections. The scene serves to highlight the challenges that come with being a part of an affluent family and how this can affect perception. While the public may view the Baloguns as perfect, the reality is that they are a group of individuals with varied perspectives, beliefs, and values. Through the story, we get to see how they navigate their lives despite their differences and how they strive to maintain dominance in their political engagements while trying to live in a world that is different from what they are used to. It's a tale that explores the dynamics of family, politics, and life in a society where perfection is rare.

Chief Balogun and his wife, Ex Chief Justice Kate Balogun, have two children - Ayo Balogun and Lolade Balogun. Despite being siblings, Ayo and Lolade have never seen eye-to-eye, and their strained relationship worsens when Chief Balogun names Ayo as his next of kin.

Lolade is deeply hurt by her father's decision, and this causes a rift between her and Chief Balogun. She vows to prove herself worthy of being the first to inherit her father's wealth and influence, regardless of gender. To achieve her goals, Lolade takes a bold step by collaborating with the Baloguns' biggest political rival, Mrs Adesoji.

Together with the Adesojis, Lolade pushes for the presidency in the upcoming elections. As part of her mission, Lolade raises awareness about gender equality in Nigerian society. Through her campaign, she highlights the importance of empowering women in politics and leadership positions, challenging traditional views and emphasizing the need for change.
