1960–1968: everyday life as a kid with a genius-level intellect
1968–1979: He lives in an umbrella-run house and is given unlimited resources to learn. In 1971, William goes to college at the University of Liverpool. In time, he became a doctor of virology and evaluation biology and became the leading researcher in theoretical non-coding DNA by 1979.
1980 gets recruited by Umbrella and starts working at Racoon University's underground lab area. Where he was to take care of the place and watch the other researchers. Filling this was a waste of his talents, so he starts researching the herbs found in the Arkly Mountains and his own research on junk DNA after seeing the field B.O.W.s held in the lab.
1981 William's research in green herbs allowed him to make healing serums 1 and 2 that, when used on small and medium-sized wounds, can heal them in minutes to a few hours. Showing his research, and with this being only the start, he gets Spencer's attention with what could be made in the future and grants William funds to continue his research.
Late 1982–1988 With the funds secured, Willam researched the blue, red, and extremely rare yellow herbs. Making anti-venom 1 and 2, and body strengthener 1 and 2 with the blue and yellow herbs And with the red, make Healing Serum 3, Anti-Venom 3, and Body Strengthener 3, but keep the 3 series a secret.
Using this chance, William, who has been experimenting with junk DNA, made an RNA virus called DX-1118A. After testing it on chimpanzees, he saw a large increase in their bodies and wished to test his virus on humans.
1988–1992 Turning in the anti-venom and body strengtheners 1 and 2 to Spencer, who at this time is old and losing his strength, is very happy and promises to help William in any project with his full power.
Spencer, using his power, sent an agent to a small, isolated, self-sufficient town called Hope in Idho, released a flu virus and spread it to everyone, and had every way to communicate with the outside world blocked or controlled. When the town calls for help, Spencer sends a security team to lock down the town, telling them it's in order to prevent the flu from spreading. Then William and a team of scientists arrive to "cure" them, when in reality, when giving everyone a check-up, they inject the now-named Hope Virus into them.
With his team, William isolates the town for six months, telling the town to make sure nothing spreads. During the six months, William and the team take samples from the population and find the virus slowly growing in their bodies. Deciding it was time to release the isolated town, William pulls everyone back and tells the town they'll be watching it for the next few years.
Watching the town William with nothing happening until the first child is born, they see the mutational effects of the virus. With children having some abnormal abilities, this shows that the virus was trying to achieve something but failing. After this, every child born would die within days, with the longest being alive for a year. On November 25, the virus mutated, and 70% of the town died. The other 30% started behaving strangely, taking the dead to town hall and staying there.
Having seen enough, William ordered the security team to kill the infected people. When the team gets close to the town hall, the people still alive burst out, each mutated, with gray skin split with red veins bursting out and their fingers looking sharp. Trained to deal with this kind of thing, the team starts killing them, and when they go to the town hall, they find the walls covered in flesh and, in the center, a girl holding what looked like a dead child, crying. Seeing the team enter, she tries to run, but William orders the team to take her in alive when two mutant creatures burst from the wall to protect the girl. After losing a fifth of the team, everything is secured. William and his team come in and take samples on Williams's birthday. They set fire to the town and whip away any information on what happened there, and William heads back to Raccoon City along with the girl named Elizabeth Green and any other samples collected.
1992–1997 Using Miss Green's blood and other samples, William spends his time creating the Hope 2 virus.
In late 1997, Dr. Burkins sent William a sample of the prototype virus to see if it could be used to strengthen the herb serums. (made for the Wesker project and most likely sent on Spencer's orders. (Find the virus stable for himself.)
Early 1998 By combining Hope 2 and the prototype virus, William makes the E-virus and injects himself with it. With his resilient DNA and indomitable will, William becomes a prototype.
