It has been a week since Dynamis got his new job and he can say that he is doing fine. If he were to ignore the attention he got from the students of his college as they had seen him with his sister and his ex-girlfriend as well. He also had to quickly eat his food due to the others wanting to know their relationship. He told them that it wasn't anything and that she was just an old acquaintance.
But of course they needed to know more so he had to avoid them and be silent during classes. It wasn't like he needed to talk for the teachers to do the class so he was fine. After classes were done he would immediately go away from the college and to his home. After which he would do his works and go to the restaurant and start to work there like he had done the past week.
Dynamis would immerse himself in his work so that he wouldn't have to think about the misfortune that had befallen him as he did the work. To a sense, he was enjoying it as he worked with the mother and daughter as he was good friends with them. Though it didn't help that he has started to glance at them now and again.
Dynamis will admit that the two are quite beautiful and he has gotten close to them. And though he doesn't have much of a favourite, he does like girls with a bit more flesh in their bodies which is why he is quite attracted to the two. Though he tries to keep it in check and not show it. His recent brake up also seen to it.
And so another of his days working in the restaurant ended after which he left to his home. But he got a message on his phone as he looked at it and his eyes widened at the message he received.
"Well, I guess it's time to take a little detour." Dynamis said to himself as he put his phone back.
He then went to a park in the city and then sat on a bench as he sighed. Soon he heard the sound of footsteps as he looked to his right and a girl walked to him.
She is a beautiful girl and is of the same height as him. She has long luscious red hair reaching her waist, soft and fair skin, bright dark blue eyes, a beautiful face, a curvaceous and hourglass figure with her breasts and butt being above medium size and wearing fashionable clothes.
She grinned towards him and then walked with a sway of her hips, though this got her a blank stare from him. She saw his look and frowned before a sly smile appeared on her face. She stood in front of him and then leaned forward and touched his left cheek causing him to freeze up from it before he calmed down.
"Hey Dynamis, how does it feel? Do you like my body touching yours?" The girl asked as she pressed her body against his.
Dynamis looked at her as he blushed a bit before he calmed down and looked at her seriously.
"Just stop playing Abigail. I already know that you're a lesbian." Dynamis said to her with narrowed eyes.
Abigail looked at him at that before she snickered and the moved back and adjusted her clothes before she sat beside him on the bench.
"Sorry, just wanted to tease you. But please tell me, I did have some effect on you right." Abigail asked him as she looked at him.
"You already know what I felt Abigail, there's no need to ask me." Dynamis said to her as he crossed his arms.
"I guess it's true." Abigail said with a sigh.
"So, why did you call me to come here?" Dynamis asked her curiously.
"I wanted to talk to you. Face to face, since we haven't done that for a while now." Abigail said to him with a smile.
"You needed me to come to the park?" Dynamis asked her with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, I didn't want to come to your home late at night so a park seemed an appropriate place. But I have to ask Dyn, are you really happy with how your life is?" Abigail asked him with concern.
"What do you mean by that?" Dynamis asked her with narrowed eyes.
"I mean, why are you hiding your relationship with your sister, living in cheap apartments when you could've easily lived in expensive ones. You know that Olivia is more than willing to pay you for it, heck even your parents are living an easy life back in India." Abigail asked him as she looked at him.
"I want to be independent Abigail. I want to make my own money and show that I can live on my own without help from my sister." Dynamis said to her seriously.
"And you are doing that by denying your sister's help? You're still in college Dynamis, no one is going to say anything if you took her help." Abigail said to him with a raised eyebrow.
"I am living okay until now Abigail. Even if it's a small apartment room I am doing fine." Dynamis said to her stubbornly.
Abigail looked at him seriously with narrowed eyes before she sighed and leaned on the bench and look at him.
"Look, I have been talking with your sisters for sometime now and I know that you don't have as much of a close connection to them like in the past. Come on Dynamis, is there something bothering you? They care about you and want the best for you." Abigail said to him with a concerned look.
Dynamis looked at her at that and looked down in contemplation as the woman looked at him. After a few minutes of him glancing at her he sighed and sat straight before looking at her.
"Alright, since you're my close friend I will tell you. But... this stays between the both of us and my sisters won't know about it." Dynamis said to her seriously.
"Got it." Abigail said to him with a nod.
Dynamis looked at her and sighed and nodded before he relaxed onto the bench.
"As you know, both my sisters are quite talented since childhood. Olivia was always at the top of her class and Shriya would always be at the top 5. Even when they advanced they kept their streak and my big sister passed her college with flying colours as one of the best students that studied there. Her becoming a Blessed also worked for her." Dynamis said to her as he reminisced.
"Yeah, I heard it as well. The three of you were quite smart as well. You also had great marks when you were small and even maintained them. But as the later years of high school came you started to slack off which caused you to lose your hold at the top. Even when you were studying in pre graduation you didn't have the same rank. Olivia and Shriya told me that you spent the time playing games and lazing around." Abigail said to him curiously.
"Oh so they told you about that as well." Dynamis said as he looked at her.
"Yeah. But, why are you trying so hard now. Especially when you could have a much more easier time now? After all, you were the slacker amongst the three." Abigail asked him confused.
"Yeah, smart. My entire family thinks that I'm some kind of genius just because I had good grades when I was younger." Dynamis said with a chuckle.
"But, aren't you? You got more than 90% in your 10th and 12th final exams." Abigail asked him surprised at his response.
"That's only because... I studied like Hell. Despite what my parents and siblings believe, I'm not a genius like my sisters. I am an above average guy when to comes to studying, I will admit that, but compared to my sisters I'm not that great. Oh, and those 90% you said to me, yeah, my parents didn't like them very much. They wanted me to get 98, 99, or 100% in the exams which I haven't been able to get." Dynamis said bitterly.
"Really? They weren't that bad right?" Abigail asked him surprised.
"Maybe they weren't to Olivia and Shriya. But I wasn't like them. I needed to study extra to remember everything needed to get high marks. When I was little I would study hard to get the marks and I would stay at the top 3. But as time passed I started to lose the top rank and went lower until I was out of the top 10. It didn't mean that I was bad, more like I could contend fully against the top students." Dynamis said to her as he sighed a bit depressed.
"So, the reason you slacked off was because..." Abigail said as she looked at him.
"As I grew older I realised just how inferior I am compared so I tried to get good marks and please my parents. But I was falling behind and no matter how much I got, they wanted more. They wouldn't praise me for the marks and would tell me to get higher grades. They would scold and accuse me of slacking off and not studying enough. That's when I realised, my parents had already decided in their minds that I'm a genius, and no matter how much I tell them they won't believe the fact that I am not what they believe me to be." Dynamis said to her as he looked down.
"Dynamis." Abigail said to him with a worried look.
"Yeah, it sucked when I learned that. It probably also sucked that my sisters thought the same as them as well as the four of them always told me to work and study harder instead of slacking off. Even if I did study, inevitable I would forget some crucial information for the exams and I wouldn't get top marks. They put a lot of pressure and expectations on me, especially since they wanted me to be like Olivia. That's when I started to think that there was no point in me trying that hard." Dynamis said to her as he looked at his hands.
Abigail looked at him with worried eyes when she heard him.
"I realised that they refused to see me as nothing more than what they expected of me. So, I started to slack off, tried to lower their expectations in a vain attempt to stop them, but it didn't work as well and they held onto it and would say that I was... just slacking off instead of taking life seriously. When in reality I had been trying hard to get the results." Dynamis said to her as he gripped his hands.
He remembered the many times his parents scolded him for the marks he got and how they always compared him to the other good students and his sisters.
"Only to get them thrown back to my face as if they were nothing and being told that all my hard work, was useless and that I wasn't trying "hard" enough. Even if I told them that it wasn't the case, they wouldn't believe me. Another reason why I came here is because I wanted to get away from them." Dynamis said to her as he looked at her.
'I... Didn't think it was that bad.' Abigail thought to herself as she digested the information.
"But... Olivia and Shriya really care about you you know." Abigail said to him as she looked at him.
"Yeah. I know they care about me. Even since Olivia was little she was placed with high expectations but she had managed to get the marks that my parents wanted. But... even someone like her would be overwhelmed sometimes and wanted to be pampered in later years." Dynamis said to her with a sigh.
"And you were the one who did that for her?" Abigail said to him as she looked at him.
"Yeah. I would pamper and baby Olivia, she would enjoy it and liked it. But we have stopped that for a long time now. And another thing was Shriya, ever since she was little I had taken care of her whenever our parents could not. I was her hero... but like with Olivia that also stopped." Dynamis said to her in a tired tone.
"What happened?" Abigail asked him.
"Well, after I became depressed at my marks I tried to enjoy the life that I had myself immersing myself in games and such. If they are going to undermine everything I do then there wouldn't be any with me doing that. Then came the Blessed and sis was chosen and that set the bar higher again. When that happened I tried to get a bit more results but this time I tried to balance my playtime with it. But in the end, by the time I realised it, I... was no longer her hero. I had went from being her hero and a good brother to just an everyday ordinary, inferior, loser of a brother who couldn't even match his own sisters and couldn't do anything on his own." Dynamis said in a depressed tone as he looked at the ground.
Abigail meanwhile looked at him shocked when she heard that as she looked at him not being able to beleive the words that he had just said.
"You... You don't actually believe that do you Dynamis?" Abigail asked him after she gained her composure.
"Well, they still call me the slacker of the family, Shriya doesn't treat me with much respect anymore, Olivia also seem to have grown distant from me. Do you know that they didn't even come to my birthday party last year?" Dynamis said to her.
"But... You didn't invite them..." Abigail said to him weakly.
"Siblings don't need a reason to visit their brother, especially on his birthday. I never needed one in my life. Then again, my luck is pretty miserable from the get go so I'm not surprised with it." Dynamis said to her in a tired tone.
'Okay, he got a point about that one l.' Abigail thought to herself when she heard that.
"Come on Dynamis, your luck isnt that bad." Abigail said to him as she tried to cheer him up a bit.
"Really? Because this guy right here had been dumped 3 times now." Dynamis said to her as he pointed at himself.
"I'm sorry, what!?" Abigail said to him surprised and shocked.
"Yeah. Would you believe it? After I went my highschool without any girlfriend I thought about getting one so I did one my first year of college and confessed to a girl I liked a bit. I think we had a good relationship, though we weren't physical or anything. But she broke up with me because she found someone better, later I found out that it was Blessed. Then I spent a year trying to heal myself before I gave it another go. And I found a new girlfriend in my third year, but she also left me. Thankfully the two of them at least told me instead of leading me on." Dynamis said with a self deprecating smile on his face.
"Wh-What about the third?" Abigail asked him cautiously.
"It was the most recent one and it had happened a week ago. I had gone to my work at the restaurant and found her standing with my boss, where I learn that she was seeing him, or something like that. My boss then fired me, have me half my original pay and then decided to punch me because he didn't like me. So yeah, that's my resume." Dynamis said in a tired tone as he ended it.
Abigail looked at him with wide and shock filled eyes. She clenched her hand at the sides of the bench and the metal was crushed under her clip, but it was too fast for any loud noise to occur so he didn't notice it. She calmed herself down before she looked at him seriously.
"Dynamis, you need to call Olivia and take care of this guy. If that is how it is then there is no problem with asking for her help, she won't judge you." Abigail said to him in a calm tone.
"It's not that simple." Dynamis said to her weakly.
"It is that simple! You're just prolonging your misery for what, your pride and dignity?! Pride won't help you here Dynamis! You need to—" Abigail shouted a bit as she tried to make him understand.
"My Pride and Dignity!" Dynamis suddenly shouted back surprising her as she looked at him.
Dynamis realised that he had just shouted at her and took deep breaths to calm himself before he looked at her. Then he looked down with a downtrodden look on his face as Abigail looked at him with a sad face.
"I don't want Olivia's help. Because this Pride and Dignity of mine, no matter how miniscule, is the only thing that I have that is my own." Dynamis said in a depressed and tired tone as he looked at the ground.
