Chapter 9 - chapter 8

Emily strutted into Shawn's cafe exactly at 9pm for a quick chat with Adams and maybe discussed her feelings, and where they stood with their relationship.

"Excuse me. Can I get a glass of water? She politely asked the waiter who excused himself and disappeared into the kitchen. She wasn't composed, well how could she be when she wants to admit that she's attracted to someone who she just met two weeks ago or so and they kissed. Was she a cheater? The thought ran through her mind like a wildfire but she shut it out.

"I'm not". She muttered under her breath and exhaled. But was she ready to end things with Adams who has been with her through her worst and had comforted her whenever things get rough or was she going to choose between a stranger who she has just met and felt sparks within her.

"Here's your water ma'am" the waiter snapped her out of her thoughts as he kept the glass of water down on the Crystal table that was in matching pairs with the chairs that she sat on and the one across her.

She took the water and took down a huge gulp then watched through the glass frame, People who were busy trying to complete a certain task or something.

Her heart gave a quick jump when Adams walked behind her and gave a peck on the cheeks.

"Adams, you scared me " she laughed as she stared at his appearance, he wasn't wearing suit or any formal attire but what he wore was rather casual, black pants, blue polo that made his eyes looks lively than the usual, his Blonde hair was a little messy like someone who had been sleeping when she called and made little effort rearranging it before he came to her.

"Sorry, can't help it. Your beauty was irresistible from a mile away" His perfect set of white teeth appeared on the surface as he smiled.

"Sir Flattering won't get you anywhere in life " Emily laughed.

"At Least it will get me to your heart" He smiled and leaned forward. "You're the most beautiful woman in my life" he kissed her lips, it was slow and enticing, needy and possessive at the same time different from other kisses they shared.

"Okay.. Now this will get you anywhere" they both laughed, Adams relaxed back to his seat.

Adams know why Emily had requested to meet him, she wanted to end their relationship but he won't let that happen after all he has come too long to back down not even some stranger from Atlanta could make him. He stared at Emily who was contemplating if she should go on with the purpose of the hangout, he smiled then held her hands making her to look him, eyes to eyes.

"I love you Emily " if it was assurance she needed, he would gladly give it to her after all it wouldn't hurt to do so, She smiled at him which he reciprocated.

"So why you wanna meet up"

"Umm..I.." different thoughts began to run in her little brain. " Nothing just wanted to see your face and to go on a little date" She chuckled lightly. That wasn't what she wanted to say but Hey at least she said something instead of choking down.

"Emily Sanchez, are you asking me out on a date?

"Is it weird? Her voice came out low like a child who'd committed any offence.

"No, just excited that's all " He leaned forward and kissed her again.

Psalm Hamilton idea of a lazy Saturday morning was doing house chores while Dan slept in. Not that he enjoyed it but it gets his mind off things and probably help him to regain focus too. But this Saturday he finished the task early and decided to go for a little sight seeing, maybe make some friends in this new town which he know nobody except for his neighbor across the street and her supposed boyfriend. He started the engine of his car about driving off when Dan rushed out of the house in a hurry.

"Hold up " He opened the car door in a haste and get in.

"Thought you were sleeping in." Psalm shook his head before driving off into the main road.

"Yeah then realized that I need to get somethings for school"

"You can get them tomorrow though"

"Yes dumb head. Bookstores won't be opened tomorrow" Dan rolled his eyes.

"Why? Psalm asked innocently.

"Cause it's Sunday dumbass" Dan groaned out of frustration. "Just don't talk to me and keep your eyes on the road. Geez I wonder how you became a lawyer when you're so dumb"

"I just didn't know tomorrow was Sunday okay? Psalm rolled his eyes. "Geez I lost track of time "

"Sure you did when you had your tongue in someone's throat" Dan laughed, hitting Psalms shoulder lightly.

"You never gonna let that go won't you? Psalm sighed.

"Neverrrr"

Psalm groaned then put on the radio player, khalid's song 'Popstar' came on and Dan began vibing to it, singing wrong lyrics which made Psalm laughed. This was how life should be, no sorrows just happy memories with the ones you just can't help it but love.

"Can I ask you something" Dan said after the song ended. He first hesitated before looking at Psalm's Face that smiled and nodded giving him the go ahead approval.

"Why did we really move here. I mean you had a life in Atlanta, a job, friends, love interests. You got everything you needed but why did you decide to move here"

Psalm didn't know which answer to give him. Finding Ophis descendant was one thing but it wasn't all the reason he moved. He also moved to give Dan a change of space since he was having cases of mental breakdowns and anxiety disorder even if their mom wax locked up but what she did have him a scar and that messed him up but he wasn't messed up atleast to Psalm. Dan was just Dan, a little annoying kid which he loved with all his heart.

"No reason, just wanted a change of pace that's all "
