Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Psalm debated if he should take the cake to Emily's house after all he made it for her as a token of their appreciation and also because he wanted to see her again. Yes she's dating Adams so whatever feelings he's harboring should end but he can't help it but to be drawn to her, there's something about her that keeps him coming and he definitely wanted to explore this new profound feelings of his that seems to spike up whenever she's around.

"Man Cake!" Dan flung his backpack across the living room and rushed to the dining outlet that merged with the living room but with pillars that demarcate them making it two separate rooms.

"Not so fast young man, it's not yours first all now go wash up let's hand this to our neighbor " Psalm chuckled lightly.

"By neighbor you mean the lady across the street" Dan smirked, then let out a soft laugh.

"Yes and I don't know what the smirk is about" Psalm decided to wrap it but can't seem to decide which wrapper he should, if it should be Red or yellow.

"Uh huh keep pretending" Dan was now heading for the stairs as he carried his backpack from where it earlier landed. "And go with red cuz it means love.. baby" He said the "love" softly in a seductive tone as he strutted to the stairs then bursting into laughter after the psalm had thrown an orange at him.

"I'm not in love With anyone"

"So You say but the heart thinks otherwise" Dan shouted from the stairs.

"I hate you"

"I know I love you too Bro"

It was too early to know if he was in love with her or just attracted to her. That he won't find out since she was in a serious relationship, he was happy for her and respects her relationship but a part of him wanted to be a part of that happiness not just by a side watcher but as a main purpose in her life. It was not going to happen and he knew that. So he decided to go with a red wrapper since it matches the icing on the cake much better than the yellow one.

He sighed softly looking at the time, wondering when she would get back. Since it was not gonna be anytime soon he decided to make use of the time left to do something productive like tracking down the next descendant of Ophis.

He was awakened by the dripping sounds of water. It wasn't supposed to rain but here it was, pouring down like it was at war with the earth. It was so heavy that it got dark everywhere and it wasn't even up to six yet. Climate change was definitely a bitch, trying to stop him from taking the cake to see Emily once again but it failed cause he was definitely going.

"Damn it's raining man I've got soccer practice" Dan said, rubbing his eyes softly like a toddler who was awakened from his sleep.

"The rain tried to ruin a lot of things today" Psalm breathed out as he stared outside. The breeze swayed to the rhythm of the wind. Not harsh but definitely not soft either.

"You gone over yet? "

"Nah she's not home yet " Psalm walked over to the kitchen counter to make some coffee and maybe cleared his mind so he will be able to focus on work related files and curse related to.

"Make some for me too " Dan walked in and sat on the tall classic chair behind the counter.

"You will be getting some milk" Psalm poured milk into a glass cup and passed it over to Dan.

"Man, I'm not a kid anymore. My mates are having coffee every now and then" Dan groaned.

"Maybe you'll get one when you start behaving like an adult"

"But…" he was cut off by the sound of a car driving in across their house, Psalm took his coffee with him as he went to stare if his neighbor was back and if she was alone.

He was nervous but he wasn't sure why, he had earlier debated if she would love his gift or throw it into the trashcan after acting polite in his face but she was not like that. She was probably the sweetest person he ever knew in his life and when she smiled, it was all genuine. It also scares him that this woman that he's falling for might slip away before he even had a chance to know her. But what's the use of acting on these feelings if he was going to die soon and a woman like her is one who shouldn't end up with a broken heart, grieving over his death. He looked over at Dan who was sipping his milk peacefully. How nice is it to be without worries that Psalm envied. He just needed to end the curse with him so Dan could have a good life and if he did survive he hoped to start something with her. Till then he decided to keep whatever feelings and attractions suppressed even if it hurts, he would gladly endure the pain until he knew if he was going to live or die.

"I'm gonna head over to Emily's house, to give her the cake" Dan just nodded his head without giving any thoughts as Psalm took the cake and left. On his way to Emily's house, emotions catapulted through him and when he arrived at her doorstep, he hesitated. He took a few minutes to regain himself, he was definitely nervous, not of how she would react to the cake but he was nervous of seeing her again. He stood there wondering what he's going to say when she opens the door, wondering if she will find it weird or something. He inhaled and exhaled and shivered as the breeze gently passed him by, he stretched his hand and rang the doorbell. Emily opened the door in her bathrobe, her hair wet from the rain and her eyes widened with amazement and when she smiled her dimples made their way into her cheeks.

"Hi…..
