Psalm had only one goal in life which was breaking his family's curse that had been passed down from generations. He never wanted this life but the life found him, he always wanted to live peacefully with the lady of his dreams and raise cute, troublesome kids but sometimes reality gives you a life different from what you wanted. And it didn't stop him from having the life he desired and he was willing to go all the way to have it. All he needed to do was to find the descendant of Ophis and Kill her, it was the only option before his time on earth was up.
He had swore on his late father's deathbed that he would finish what his father had started before he ended up like his father. That's the reason for him not having a committed relationship, the fear of leaving the love of your life behind because of this wicked curse. He too feared that he may end up like his father and his ancestors. This was the unfair gene of the Anderberg bloodline and he was about turning into his thirties which means his time was coming sooner than he had expected. At this point he had wished that he would've gone back in time to his childhood where he had no worries till he turned eighteen when his father had considered him grown enough to learn about his family history. Such a shitty history if you ask him but too bad it was one couldn't escape from it except killing the daughter of Ophis. She was innocent yes as a person but the blood that ran through her was not so innocent. It was demonic as well as her founding ancestor. He was so determined to escape from this fate at all cost and had promised his father he would, and carry on the honor of his family but first he had to get all his stuff inside the house.
"I still don't get it. Why do will have to move all the way from boston to Reedshores" his little brother complained. Messy dark hair, sculpted face that embraced all the fine features, lips slightly red unlike his that was so obvious. Typical teenage with the love of soccer.
"Need a change of atmosphere" He considered telling him everything but he shrugged off that thought. He won't be able to handle it and Psalm wanted him to live a normal life without worrying about when he's going to die just like he had. And besides Reedshores was a good change of pace, a small town with a peaceful atmosphere aside from its insane murder stories but the town itself was a beauty.
"Still don't get it. You could've have accepted the promotion instead of requesting for a transfer"
"Like I said, Dan, change of pace" he smirked. Dan followed him into the house trying to continue the conversation which Psalm kept brushing off.
"Fine as long as Mum can't reach out to us here" Dan's facial expression was sad. He could never get over the painful memory of his mother inflicting pain on him ever since their father died. She grieved so hard and became a monster. Each time she gets home, intoxicated from alcohol, she will beat Dan and blame him for her pain, misery, sorrow and most of all his existence. One night she had come back drunk and had beaten Dan till he almost died if it hadn't been for the neighbor Mrs Jolie who had broken the window glass and rescued him before his own mother could use the baseball bat on him and had rushed him to the hospital where he battled for his life. He was a broken kid and Psalm had blamed himself for not knowing about it
"Hey, she won't come near you anymore. You're with me okay? She can't hurt you anymore" Psalm dropped the boxes on the floor and pulled Dan into his arms, stroking his hair, comforting him. What he passed through was something Psalm couldn't imagine since he had been lucky to escape. That night as Dan had battled for his life in the operation room, Psalm had blamed himself for leaving Dan alone with their mentally deranged mother who would have taken the liberty to end her son's life. But was it really Psalm's fault that it all happened? That question had always been at the back of his mind. He blamed himself for everything and also blamed Ophis for the curse she had made. If he wasn't so caught up trying to break the curse he would've been by his brother's side and this wouldn't have happened. And their father will probably be alive. And their mother maybe won't be the mentally deranged patient she was, they would've been a one big happy family or so he thought.
"Can we order pizza now? " Dan asked. Psalm chucked and nodded his head. No matter what happens, he will give his brother the life he deserved, away from all of this. At least Dan will live a normal life.
"Yes please I'm starving"
"I thought you weren't hungry. Wonder if the nextdoor neighbors are nice " Psalm never cared about his neighbors cause he hardly sees them, some days he won't be back till the next week. But he hoped Dan would get along with the neighbors so he wouldn't get lonely here.
"They'll be nice" Psalm smiled. After thirty minutes of arrangements, they were finally through with moving in when the doorbell rang. Psalm laughed over the tired Dan who lay on the couch looking lifeless. He strutted to the door and opened it.
Looking at the oval face, exotic hazel eyes that dance around with excitement, her lips was unpainted but still looking pink, her ginger red hair was slightly short but not to a man's length and it curled, her lips went into a smile and her dimples made their appearance on the both side of her cheeks.
"Hi! You must be the new neighbor. I'm Emily.."
