Emilia and Clove were taken to the fort, they were kept in separate holding cells for prisoners.
The holding cell was in the dungeon area underground the fort, here there where many other prisoners being kept in the dungeon cells but because they were also locked away Emilia couldn't tell what the other prisoners looked like, all she could see was Clove who was chained to a wall in an empty cell just opposite her and the two guards that patrolled the dungeon from time to time.
Clove had tried to talk to her but she completely ignored him partly because she was still angry about how he had treated her like a monster and because something else was on her mind.
She was still trying to understand what really had happened, because it happened too fast. Her father was dead and she now also had strange feelings, sensations about being deep underwater and that man in the chariot that picked her up. Heffner Varese, he made her feel like that creature, the seiteme was close-by and Avaram her brother is a high ranking knight in this fort.
The sound of a number of footsteps interrupted her thinking and what followed was the patrolling guards saluting an in coming group.
"Which cell is the diviner in?"
"The last cell by your right, Lord Hilderic."
About four armored guards and a nobleman had come to see her. The nobleman was actually wearing full body armor similar with the armor of the guards only difference being that he had no helmet on. Just like him, one of the guards was without a helmet, instead he wore a mask over the top half of his face, a mask that had a single eye sized blue gem at its center and two smaller such gem stones on either side. It was something too familiar to Emilia because that mask was a magic item her older brother Avaram always wore. He had an injury that left him blind and that mask was the replacement for his eyes.
"Open her cell"
"Lord Hilderic, Lord Heffner wouldn't like that?"
"Are you questioning me?"
"no sir"
When Emilia's cell was opened and Hilderic went in Emilia screamed Avarams name, startling everyone especially Avaram.
"You, how do you know my driver?"
Hilderic now very curious and was thinking up what to do with new knowledge he just acquired, but before he would even take the next step a loud bang stop him in his tracks.
Avaram had shot him in the back of the head with his wand. The other guards were confused, all except one who quickly shot at the patrolling guards who were furthest away. This double confusion gave Avaram the time to quickly attack the remaining guards who didn't know who they were supposed to be wary of.
"Annika you should watch the door while I release the both of them" Avaram ordered the last guard that had helped him by shooting the patrolling guards.
He then broke the restraints on Emilia and Clove and they all quickly made a run for it. Avaram and Annika led the way through the fort and they actually barely encountered any problems. Most of the soldiers recognized Avaram as a superior so they didn't ask any questions or tried to obstruct them.
Avaram and Annika led Emilia and Clove to the parking area of the fort where they got into a coach (basically a smaller fancy looking version of the chariot used in chapter one, so like, A CAR).

Hilderic Varese, the noble Avaram shot in the back of the head. Some how got up back and he was pissed. The other noble that Emilia had met before, Heffner Varese, was standing in that same dungeon with a less than impressed look on his face. When Hilderic saw Heffner he felt even worse.
"Heffner I-"
"Save it brother, one of our drivers and our best ranger have fled with the diviner. They even took our only generation four vehicle"
"The driver may have been related to the diviner she called out to him, there's no way I would've prevented this."
"There is, you shouldn't have gone to see her, you are still ordinary how would you be able to tell her apart from normal people?"
"Brother don't worry I'll go get back the diviner and I'll kill the rest of those traitors along with her"
"That isn't necessary, I've already ordered a few soldiers to go after them with a generation three chariot"

Emilia and the rest were on a road to the other side of the border. They only had to pass a pathway on the side of a mountain to leave their country to another named Friestros there wasn't much of a plan or even the time to make a plan, Avaram had just spontaneously decided to get away from the fort with Emilia and Clove, Annika was just a very close friend of his.
The trickiest part of escaping was done but now now they had to deal with the terrain on the border and the possibility that a pursuit from the fort had already began.
And at first things were easy, the only issues where finding a safe path down to the other side because the terrain where they were was on a higher elevation from the other side of the border that was just a rocky and sandy wasteland.
It didn't even take long for the chariot sent by Heffner to catch up with them. Their vehicle was fast but the chariot was faster, the bulky armored vehicle (the chariot) had the advantage that it was built for situations like this. Avaram couldn't do much to help when the chariot caught up with them and some of the soldiers inside began to shoot at them.
Annika tried shooting back at the soldiers shooting at them while Emilia and Clove hid from the bullets.
She couldn't do much and from time to time the chariot would hit their coach would come close enough to hit them but Avaram would make quick turns just in time and dodge. This back and forth exchange would go on for a while with the coach taking more damage over time while still managing to maintain it's position in front of the chariot. Until finally Avaram made a mistake when he tried to make another one of his quick turns.
The coach was far too damaged and couldn't make the turn as quickly and got knocked over the mountain side by the chariot. They crashed into the rocky grounds but all mostly didn't sustain too many injuries because the coach was actually well armored even if not to the extent of the chariot behind it and luckily for them that chariot couldn't immediately follow them unless it too would have to go over the mountain side, instead the chariot had to look for a way down.

Not very far from where the coach crashed a lone traveler was trying to get to Teutoberg. This lone traveler, a tall black man with short red hair suspiciously lingering around the border was of course very curious about the scene he just witnessed so he went closer to the crash to investigate.
When he came close he saw Avaram, a Teut soldier struggling to pull out a black haired boy (Clove) from under crash and next to him was a blond smallish looking girl (Emilia).
"Don't move any closer" a female voice ordered
Annika had been the only person he failed to notice but she didn't miss his presence, she came from behind and pointed a wand to his head.
"Who are you?" Avaram asked
"I'm a traveler, Brynner from Streifzug, I was on my way to Teutoberg through these mountains and I happened to see your vehicle crash so I wanted to find out"
They all gave him puzzled looks, non of them had heard about such a place or had even see a black person before but it wasn't the time and place to be curious. So Avaram gave the order for Annika to shoot Brynner only for them to receive another shock.
When Annika fired the wand the bullet went straight towards Brynner's head as expected but instead of a wound of any kind the bullet disappeared after hitting an invisible blue energy wall, leaving only a flicker of faint blue light inches away from Brynner's head.
Emilia didn't understand it because she only knew wands from when her father talked about them but Avaram and Annika who had served as soldiers knew perfectly what just happened.
Wands are a magical tool that create small sharp projectiles and launch them at high speeds when activated. They are impossible to dodge and most people that get hit by them die on the spot if hit in vital areas all people except a select special few, KNIGHTS.
Hilderic too was a knight, a low ranking one at that plus the shot he received was completely unexpected but Avaram and Annika knew that by now that bullet wound would be a thing of the past however the man in front of them now was an even higher ranking knight, they knew because the ability he used was a signature of proper knights.
Brynner on the other hand had understood that they were behaving differently from how people from their country would be behaving in that situation.
They were very alert and ready to eliminate anything they felt was a threat, the soldiers in their group were protecting very ordinary looking people and they were also being chased by another vehicle from Teutoberg.
"Let me take back what I said earlier, I am Brynner Steinem of the order of Knight Siege. And I am very willing to help you escape from Teutoberg."
As he was speaking the chariot sped towards them.
Avaram knew this was too good of a chance to miss but seeing the Chariot approach from behind he had no choice but to concede.
"Sir Brynner, please help us"
The chariot had come very close but a piece of earth appeared from thing air just under it that made it fly into the air and crash.
"Just tell me why you're trying to leave your country and I'll see to helping you as much as I can."
"It's all my fault, I'm a diviner that's why...Avaram is just trying to help me" Emilia got up and said.
"DIVINER!!?" Brynner yelled in a slightly out of character manner.
He actually didn't plan on helping them, all he wanted was information about Teutoberg but hearing that the girl in front of him might be a diviner made him completely reconsider.
It couldn't be helped really, a diviner was a very very very rare sight much so that in all of their continent there weren't any more than three known diviners.
The soldiers from under the crashed chariot were slowly struggling to come out so Brynner, still under the surprise from hearing that the girl in front of him might be a diviner impatiently rushed to the chariot.
It looked like he had disappeared there but he just ran very fast. The soldiers and Emilia's group didn't even see what Brynner did because just as quickly as he disappeared and reappeared with bloody arms and a behind him was a chariot with dead bodies littered around.
Emilia threw up when she saw all the blood but non of that was Brynner's problem. He went over to the struggling Clove under the coach and his hands turned into broad dangerous looking red swords which he then used to easily cut the metal of the coach to set Clove loose.
"You'll prove you're the diviner later but for now scavenge anything useful, we need to get away from here as soon as possible. I know a mining town not too far from here."
"Where will we go from there?" Avaram asked even though it was Emilia the knight was talking to, he understood that now they were basically in the hands of this one man.
"The only place a diviner can live in without any problems, Streifzug, the capital of Friestros."
