"There, over there, that's where they are" a broken and beaten man said as he gestured towards a table with five cloaked individuals. It was in a bar so everyone was supposed to have come for a good time after a long day of working in the mines. This bar was of course located in a small remote town surrounded by heavy woodlands, it didn't have many visitors.
After the man gestured at the obvious outsiders, soldiers in blue armor that had a golden emblem of three moons and a sword began to charge at the cloaked group. Each wielding an assault wand (assault rifle).
However the individuals in cloaks seemed a little bit faster and as if in preparation for an attack they all quickly sprang into action.
Avaram Virago, a young man in his twenties was the first to reap lives. He had short blond hair and a smooth fair face but what really would bring your attention there was the mask that covered the top half of his face, it had no outlets for eyes but instead had a single eye sized blue gem at its center and two smaller such gem stones on either side. Avaram with that strange mask that gave a faint blue light and two short swords easily dismantled all the soldiers that he came close enough to.
Behind him was a young woman clearly also in her early twenties, wielding two short wands (handguns) and skillfully executing everyone Avaram missed. Annika had two mainly eye catching things about her, one was her hair which was just shaved enough that you knew it was black and the other was how much in sync her attack was with Avaram. Together they were the strongest attack force in the building.
But even more impressive than them was Brynner Steinem, another young fellow and the one fiercely defending the last two members of their party. He would ordinarily be very flashy with his red short afro, his large toned muscles and how he was the only brown skinned person present (maybe the only brown skinned person in thousands of kilometers) but no one would think about that, not with how all the bullets fired at him dissipated into faint blue lights before coming closer than an inch of him and even scarier was how he killed those who came too close, his lower arm would turn into a red wicked looking blade and he would very easily cut through the soldiers despite their strong looking armors.
Behind Brynner were Emilia Virago, a smallish blond haired girl who had similar features to Avaram and Clove Virago, the black haired Virago boy (not much is interesting about him).
It didn't take much for Avaram, Annika and Brynner to overpower and eliminate the twelve or so, armored soldiers that had charged at them but things were far from over. While the fighting had erupted, some of the regulars at the bar had tried to escape but a hail of gunfire would greet anything that stepped out of the building, they were thoroughly surrounded.
A sort of eerie silence took hold on the evening and it seemed both sides had come to a tacit understanding, no one wanted to make the first move.
Emilia's group couldn't just charge into an unknown number of enemies, only one of them had that confidence. It was the same for the armored troops, although they had surrounded their targets they had to capture one of them alive.
When it began to look like the stalemate was going to be indefinite a yell quickly put it to a stop.
"Avaram!!! This is a final warning, if you hand over The Diviner now I'll forget all our past grievances so ju..." Hilderic Varese, the commander for all the soldiers present was going on until an explosion from the building cut him off.
Brynner had charged through the wooden walls straight at Hilderic in an attempt to catch him off guard.
"You...you're a knight. I didn't expect you Lonthorian scum to be here alrea..." Brynner had turned his hands into blades again and charged at Hilderic who barely deflected the two attacks with the two large swords he had only just brandished in time.
But in the second attack Brynner cut through Hilderic and his swords instantly.
"Esquires should only run at the sight of Lance, yet this idiot..."
Brynner's sudden attack really did surprise everyone. The rest of the armored soldiers dared not stay shocked, they knew that Hilderic was the only knight in their ranks and understood more finely what that meant, no one was loyal enough to die a meaningless death like that but even escaping was hard.
Brynner began to target the vehicles they came on. He would make heavy movements with his hands and a piece of earth would grow upwards or sometimes even from thin air, just like that he had stopped the remaining soldiers. It was easy since they came in two armored personnel carriers and five or so bikes. The confrontation afterwards was easily decided.
Emilia and the rest were still in the bar (mostly because Emilia and Clove both still can't stand the sight of corpses), it was calm and quiet again.
Avaram was the first to step out, he even saw Brynner executing the last few helpless soldiers, confused about whether to shudder in fear or marvel at how the three full moons had illuminated the scene. Brynner had noticed the bitter expression forming on Avarams face and walked towards him trying to explain casually.
"They don't know you have a knight escorting The Diviner. I'd like to keep things that way, we get free transport too"
"I can understand that, I just feel uncomfortable knowing that I used to be one of those soldiers only a few weeks ago"
"Relax, The Diviner is your sister isn't she? We're on the same side.", Even with those words, Avaram still looked uneasy and had avoided eye contact with Brynner even though they were face to face.
The others began to approach after getting the signal that they were no longer in danger. Brynner and Avaram where checking out the armored cars to see which was least damaged and Annika was still patrolling the area with Clove as there were several weapons laying around and a few normal people from the town were poking around since the skirmish had ended.
Emilia was left at Brynner and Avarams side.
She first only watched the two of them silently as Brynner would use magic to slowly flip the vehicles upright and how Avaram would inspect different parts. She began to look at the corpses littered around and then started to ask questions when the atmosphere became too stiff.
"How did you make those pieces of earth disappear into thing air?"
"How do your hands feel when you turn them into swords?"
"Is this a fourth generation Chariot? Avaram can you drive this too?"
"Am I really evil?"
Her first few questions only prompted lazy disinterested answers from both of them but her last question.
Avaram near instantly stop what he was doing and held her by her shoulders, a pale look on his face as he asked "Emilia what do mean by that?".
"All these people who died, it's because of me. If I wasn't The Diviner then..."
"No, Emilia it's not your fault. It's just fate, it's just fate."

Meanwhile Emilia was having a heart to heart with her brother and Brynner in a castle not too far away a man who had similar appearance to Hilderic suddenly felt as if a droplet of water hit his heart, he held his hands to his heart for awhile before speaking to himself.
"Hilderic is dead?"
As he walked through the castle, everyone that saw him would respectfully greet him but he generally paid no mind as he kept muttering to himself and walked towards an area reserved for Chariots and Coaches.
Seeing him dressed in night wares the guards were embarrassed when he asked to be allowed a bike, "Lord Varese, You can't go out in those right? Not at this hour".
Realizing that it was still night and he what he was wearing he went for a quick change, organizing his thoughts while preparing.
'Hilderic went to arrest that diviner girl with a large platoon and he himself is an Esquire level knight so that means...'
'For him to die? They definitely have a knight with them, someone above the esquire level. Where this knight is from isn't important but I should make precautions for if anything goes wrong'
After awhile he was on his way towards Emilia one a heavy looking bike, fully clad in blue armor carrying that same golden three moon emblem.
It took him a day to get to the town where Hilderic was killed but they had already left by the time he got there and they had already left but the townsfolk were very cooperative in giving him directions.
When saw the first crash site by the mountain side and later the town where destroyed vehicles were been scattered all over he understood that a Knight may have helped them escape. If not for him being sensitive to fate it may have taken too long to find out what had happened, now his interest was peaked.

Avaram was driving the chariot and all the rest of them were in the passengers compartment. It was the last of daytime but they were in a narrow path in a dense forest so it was very dark, plus, when he noticed a bike carrying the emblem of Teutoberg approaching and at first he thought it would've been someone who could drive from that town riding on one of the many vehicles they left behind, as much as that made little sense to him but he soon realized that it really was a knight from Teutoberg.
Everyone else knew what was up when the vehicle shook violently. Annika took control of the turret gun mounted on the top of the vehicle and soon discovered that all the shots she fired at the approaching enemy turned into faint blue lights.
So while Avaram kept swerving in attempts to hit the bike and it's driver, Annika was shooting to slow him down further even Brynner had joined in and the real battle was between them, seeing as Brynner who was now on the roof of the chariot kept manipulating the earth with magic to create obstacles that would shortly dissipate after forming.
There is a sort of tug of war where they gain distance a bit but he still somehow catches up, until a short burst of a blackish red energy hit the chariot on one of the back tires, completely disintegrating it instantly, simultaneously Emilia felt as if her heart was suddenly drenched in water. A crash soon ensued.
The chariot mowed through several rows of trees of the road before coming to a stop where it split in two, Brynner had one of his arms turned into a sword and had Emilia on his back while holding Clove closely under his other arm, although he was down on one knee and had a small bleeding cut on his face. Avaram was somehow safely wedged between the damaged drivers compartment a soft cushion that had spawned from thin air same as Annika who was laying on the ground also on a magically spawned cushion only furthest away from the crash, as if she was thrown over before the vehicle began to go off track.
"Oh? You're a Lance level? That makes sense, but I'm still impressed that you where able to save them in time, I'm a Lance too but I'm sure I can't pull that off"
The blue armored knight mocked as he drove closer, slowly parking as he continued to jest.
"Heal up and drop those two, I need to hit you hard for killing my little brother"
To those words the wound on Brynner's fore head closed itself without leaving a scar and he gently lay Emilia and Clove down.
The air around both knights began to show slight distortions like as if a flame was burning.
The distortions extended outwardly but seemed to hit a wall when they met, blue sparks occasionally appearing at that intersection. Yet Brynner's distortions began to shrink slowly until they resided back into his body.
*Tch...This bastard isn't a Lance. He's at least a Baron, I should run away? No, The Diviner.*
Brynner only gave a short look back at Emilia before turning into a blur, he charged at the other Knight who only followed suit.
Emilia and Clove couldn't even follow their movements, they only saw the occasional blue flash of light and would see Brynner being thrown around in a different direction, each time with new injuries appearing somewhere on him.
Brynner wasn't wielding any weapons but he didn't need to, the other knight also only used his fists yet when their attacks landed on each other only Brynner would sustain injuries. They both kept hitting each other to the point their armors were completely destroyed.
Finally Brynner fell to the ground with his upper body full of bruises and one of his arm even having a bone sticking out. At that point Emilia felt again as if her heart was suddenly drenched in water when as Brynner's body hit the ground time a dark red beam of energy headed straight toward his body.
The world became incredibly slow and from her chest a strange symbol began to glow bright yellow. Emilia ran in front of Brynner and stretched her hands towards the black red beam, it hit her palm and softly dissipated into nothing.
The Knight who had been smiling previously now had a very ugly expression on his face when he saw the result of his last attack.
"I can't use my power against normal people but not against your kind!!!" Emilia boldly declared as her body had become shrouded in a white yellow light.
