Zombies. An undead creature that often comes out in lots of popular movies.
These creatures are known to be without thought and with only human brains for an appetite.
That was how it was supposed to be. Inside fantasies where they belong, but why was such a horrible creature now roaming the ground of Downtown Los Angles?
"Arghhhhh!" A man screamed as a zombie bit into his forearm. Then like a beast, it ripped a chunk of the man's flesh out. Blood splattered from within and coated the zombie in fresh thick blood.
Seeing this, Ha Rin flinched and clenched onto Hannah's clothing.
Everyone began to run. Everyone knew if they stood here doing nothing, they would meet the same fate as the man.
People began rushing out of their vehicles to run on foot since the traffic prevented anyone from leaving. But the ones closer to the hoard were torn apart into bits.
The crowd that the officers were trying so hard to contain broke apart almost instantly. Doctors, patines, and nurses scattered everywhere like panicked ants.
Some ran back inside the hospital. At the same time, others began to run away on foot across the road.
"H-Hey, let's get outta here," John said with a fear-stricken face.
"Yea." Hannah agreed.
Just then, Ha Rin raised her finger to point at one of the cars tangled up in traffic. "Unnie! Someone stuck in that car!" Ha Rin shouted.
It was a green-colored cap with a middle-aged woman stuck in the back seat. It seemed that the lock to the door wasn't opening.
Hannah looked down at Ha Rin as if she was crazy.
Many people were being devoured about 1100 meters away, and these zombies were covering distance fast.
The situation was dire, and Hannah's condition wasn't any better.
Yet Ha Rin was still talking about saving someone else?
Hannah glanced at the incoming hoard of zombies and frowned. They were all so far away a second ago, but now they're only 900 meters away.
From Hannah's knowledge, Zombies were slow and only posed a threat when many were gathered.
But these things were different.
They ran as if their lives were on the line, yet it didn't look like their stamina decreased at all.
The only reason why they hadn't reached Hannah was that they had an all-you-can-eat buffet before them.
Hannah wanted to ignore Ha Rin's stupid request, but she knew Ha Rin would never forgive her if she did.
She placed Ha Rin back onto the ground and clasped onto her shoulders. "Stay here. If I don't come back in two minutes, then run away." Hannah said before running off into the crowd of people.
Ha Rin watched in a daze.
"Hey! Where are you going?!" John shouted whilst looking back.
Hannah ignored him and rushed towards the cab.
"Hey! Hey! You! Help me!" Hannah was greeted by such an bitchy tone she almost left without thinking.
It was an overweight middle-aged woman that was banging on the door window, begging to be let out.
"Ugh... if it wasn't for Ha Rin then..." Hannah muttered and then shouted at the woman. "Turn your head around!"
"Huh?!" Because of the yells and screams in the background, the woman couldn't hear Hannah.
The middle-aged woman tired moving closer to the window, but it was already too late by then.
Smash!
With all her might, Hannah shattered the window, but in consequence, her knuckles were torn up and dripping with blood.
"Arugh! You little...!" The woman pulled back and clutched her face in pain.
"This should be enough for you to get out, right?" Hannah said and once again looked into the distance.
'Shit! There already here?!' Hannah shouted inwardly and turned around to run away.
"Where are you going?! Help me!" Hannah heard the woman shout, and a sudden force pulled her arm.
When Hannah felt this, she swiftly turned around and saw the woman grabbing onto her wrist. Hannah's eyebrows dipped in fury as she brought up her fist.
She struck the woman right in the cheekbone, instantly making her release her grip.
"Keeeik!" A zombie appeared out of nowhere and latched onto the middle-aged woman. Grabbing her shoders and skinking its teeth into her neck, then ripping off a chunk of her flesh in a gruesome manner.
Hannah's heart skipped a beat as she stumbled back in fear.
But thankfully enough, her flight response was triggered, resulting in Hannah having a full-on dash back toward the hospital.
Right at that moment, Hannah saw a zombie towards her left, sprinting right towards the hospital's entrance.
Hannah's face darkened as she looked back in front of her to see Ha Rin's face brighten. Ha Rin seemed completely oblivious to the zombie running at her.
"Run!" Hannah shouted at Ha Rin.
"Eh?" Ha Rin looked at Hannah, confused. But then Ha Rin saw it as it got closer. Its teeth were stained with human blood, and its nails were stuck with human flesh.
Ha Rin locked eyes with the creature. Instantly causing Ha Rin to freeze in fear.
Hannah gave in a burst of energy and shot forward in front of Ha Rin, but she was too fatigued to move anymore.
Ha Rin's eyes widened with tears as she helplessly watched the zombie inch closer to Hannah's neck.
'Ah fuck, I'm going to die...' Was Hannah's only thought before the zombie bit into her nec... huh?
Vroooommm!!!
The sound of a roaring engine was heard before the zombie was sent flying away and crashing into a brick wall.
"William...?"
