"William...?" Hannah's eyes winded from shock.
"Get inside!" William shouted.
"No, we have nowhere to go! Hannah retorted.
What Hannah was saying was true. The road was packed with cars and trucks. It was going to be hard to go anywhere from here.
The only reason why William was able to reach Hannah with his pickup truck was that there weren't this many zombies a second ago.
Crash!
"!" William swiftly turned around to face the passenger side. There was the same woman that Hannah had attempted to help, but now she looked dead.
William reached toward his back pocket and brought up his handgun.
Bang!
He put a single bullet right into the zombie's right eye socket.
William had thought that was the end of them, but...
"K-keeickk!" The thing roared with its mouth wide open.
Bang! Bang!
William put two more bullets through its head. Despite this, this zombie continued to move as if it had never got shot.
"Shit...!" William cursed as she hastily exited his pickup truck and slammed the door shut.
"We have to get inside!" Hannah yelled as she picked up Ha Rin.
Then together, they all began running towards the entrance of the hospital. But the entrance seemed to be blocked off with barricades.
The people that chose to take shelter inside the hospital were already working to barricade the entrance with furniture.
Though fortunately enough, the barricade didn't seem heavy enough yet. With little effort, they could be let in.
"Hey! Let us in!" Hannah shouted in desperation, but the people inside only stared at Hannah. Even the police officers stood there watching.
"Sorry, No can do." A man came walking and met Hannah behind the glass door.
"What?"
The man then looked at Hannah's bloodied right hand and squinted his eyes. "How do I know you guys aren't infected?"
"Are you blind? Do we look infected in any way?!" Hannah shouted in anger.
It was then Hannah saw a familiar face within the hospital.
"Hey, John!" Hannah waved her hand to get his attention. "Let us in!"
He didn't respond. John had definitely heard Hannah's shout, but he chose to act dumb.
"You piece of trash...!" Hannah gritted her teeth.
Bang! Bang!
Both Hannah and Ha Rin turned their heads around. Everyone's attention was also focused on William.
On the ground was an infected, with both of its knees blown out.
William figured if he couldn't kill these things, then he would cripple them. Yet even though its legs were useless now, the infected used its upper body to crawl to William.
Fortunately enough, it was slow enough not to pose any threat anymore.
"Let's move... they ain't letting us in," William said.
Hannah followed after William, not bothering to give the onlookers a second glance as they needed to get out of there if they wanted to live.
"Where are you going to go?" Hannah asked while vigilantly scouting the area, ensuring they wouldn't come across a hoard of zombies.
"For now, let's head this way." Said William as they moved North.
Most of the zombies were heading toward where most people were, and that was toward the South.
Just as he thought, the streets were almost empty from traveling a few more blocks, except for other humans roaming the streets to loot stores for an incoming apocalypse.
"This should do," William spoke and entered a liquor store.
"A liquor store?" Hannah muttered and also entered the store.
Upon walking in, William began pushing a heavy table up against the glass door for a bit more security.
"Wait here." William raised his hand and walked towards the back of the store. "I need to check on the rooms."
"Alright." Hannah nodded and watched William walk into the storage room.
"Who is that?" Ha Rin then asked.
"That man is my husband," Hannah spoke while bringing Ha Rin back onto the floor.
"Husband?" Ha Rin tilted her head in puzzlement.
"It's when two people love each so much they decide to marry." Hannah sighed with a little smile.
"Ah!" Ha Rin brought a fist onto her palm as if everything made seance. "That's when sexing stuff happens!"
"S-sexing?" Hannah's eyebrows twitched. "Where did you learn that?"
"I don know, but I know it happens when two people love each other very much." Ha Rin grinned. "Maybe I can do sexing with Unnie!"
"E-ehhhh..." Hannah's voice trembled. She couldn't say that she didn't want to do 'sexing' since Ha Rin might get the wrong idea and think Hannah hated her Hannah couldn't say anything, so she just patted her head. 'I thought she would be traumatized, but it seems I was worrying for no reason... such a strong soul.'
Crash!
Hannah swished her head toward the storage room with wary eyes.
"William?" Hannah called out but was met with silence.
With every passing second, a sense of dread deepened within Hannah.
Slam!
Without warning, the door to the storage room swung open and there shot out William with an infected in his grasp.
William was going for a double leg takedown, and when they hit the ground, he got up in mount.
Ha Rin moved behind Hannah's leg and didn't move from there.
Then with his right hand, William grabbed a whisky bottle and smashed it onto the infected face.
"Keicckkkk!" It screcched.
"Cover her eyes!" William shouted at Hannah.
Hannah stood there motionless for a second but then acted immediately. She crouched down beside Ha Rin and covered her eyes.
Flick! Flick!
William lit up a lighter and dropped it onto the infected's face.
A burst of flames erupted from the lighter and coved its face.
"K-keicckkk! Keeeick!" The infected screeched in pain.
"So it's able to feel pain," William murmured as he got up and grabbed another bottle of whisky and poured it over the infected face.
Ha Rin began trembling from the blood-curdling screeches of the infected.
"Here." William passed Hannah two pairs of cloth.
"Thanks..." Hannah grabbed the cloth and put one over Ha Rin's nose and mouth. But while doing so, she caught a glimpse of the burning corpse. "Hick!"
"Yea... don't look at that." William sighed and grabbed a fire extinguisher from the wall, and sprayed the corpse with white foam.
'About ten seconds to kill it with fire, huh...' William thought, happy with this new piece of information.
Though, when William grabbed the corpse to toss it outside, he noticed a strange blue coming from the infected's chest.
For a second, William thought it was some explosive, but he quickly concluded that his presumption was impossible.
Out of curiosity, William grabbed a big shard of glass beside him and plunged it into the corpse's chest.
Then using the same shard of glass, William scooped the glowing blue crystal from the corpse.
"What is this?" William wiped the crystal from any remaining blood and began inspecting it.
"Are you alright?" Hannah asked when William approached her.
"Yea…" William nodded slightly and looked down at Ha Rin, who was still clinging to Hannah's leg.
"Who's the girl?" William questioned.
"Her name's Ha Rin. I was looking after her in the hospital." Hannah answered.
William stared at Ha Rin before crouching in front of her. "Hey, um… nice to meet you? My name is William…"
There was an awkward pause, but William caught Ha Rin's eyes darting at the blue crystal in his hand.
"You want this?" William asked, and Ha Rin nodded.
"Here, just don't do anything weird with it," William said, handing the crystal to Ha Rin.
"She's a cute kid." William sighed while standing up.
"You suck with children." Hannah giggled. "What was that?"
"How do I suck with children?" William retorted, a bit offended.
"You know how." Hannah grinned.
William sighed as he turned to look at Ha Rin. "Huh?" The pupils in William's eyes dilated when he saw what was in her mouth.
Ha Rin, who was completely oblivious to where the crystal came from, now had it in her mouth as if it was a lollipop.
