Chapter 13 - 13. Technique Grades

The Golden core cultivators of the Corpse Ghost sect have only come from these three families, allowing them to hold most of the power in this sect.

While the sect also had other peaks that didn't correspond to any of the three families, the power and influence these peaks had over the sect was greatly limited.

Looking at this, Fang Yang could only thank his predecessor that he hadn't gotten too involved or even worse, tried to play this little miss in front of him.

With things like this, Fang Yang was almost certain that if he asked for his 200 spirit stone debt to be paid off, this little miss might actually be able to do it.

But even if that was a possibility, Fang Yang didn't dare ask.

Nothing in this world ever came free.

Even if he was slick enough to finesse 200 spirit stones from Zhou Meili and walk away. The second the Zhou Family behind her caught the news that he played her, not only would his legs be broken, He'd probably be crippled and sent to her that night!

'Fang Yang, you're really playing with fire now!'

If possible, Fang Yang didn't want to get caught up in the schemes and conflicts that represented the three major families, but he also knew that he couldn't turn down the money.

If he went to the spirit gold mine without properly preparing, he would only be asking for death.

Other than thanking Zhou Meili for her kindness, there was really nothing else Fang Yang could do.

It was not like Fang Yang couldn't see the hints that she was trying to give him while she was at his place, but after hearing she was from the Zhou Family, Fang Yang really didn't have the guts to touch this lady.

Maybe some people could throw caution to the wind in front of such a beauty, but unfortunately, Fang Yang simply wasn't such a person. So Although it was quite shameless, after getting the money, Fang Yang quickly moved her out of his room. Not daring to create a misunderstanding.

After moving Zhou Meili out, Fang Yang breathed a loud sigh of relief.

The news that Zhou Meili had brought him had lifted off a great weight from his shoulders, and the spirit stones she had given him made him even more confident.

Thinking about like this, he really did owe that girl a lot, but what could he do?

Right now, Fang Yang had neither the capabilities nor the state of mind to properly reciprocate those feelings.

Not wanting to think too much about it, Fang Yang went to bed. There were only three more days before he had to leave for the task.

In those three days, he had to make sure he was sufficiently prepared for the task.

….

The next day, Fang Yang got up early in the morning and after freshening up, he practised his spells for a few hours before the time the market would open.

After the time came, Fang Yang took his spirit stones and left for the market, barely able to contain his excitement.

Over the night, Fang Yang had already been considering how to spend his money and the best way to increase his strength and he determined that it was to increase his offensive capabilities.

Fang Yang looked over his current skills and realised that there was a lack of offensive spells in his arsenal. The closest thing he had to an offensive technique was the object control art.

As he was walking along the market, Fang Yang looked at all the available techniques.

But the only thing he saw was some low-tier martial techniques, but that was to be expected.

Most techniques that could be sold on the market would be low-tier martial techniques.

Although they had some powerful-sounding names like

"Furious tiger blade" or "Steel-breaking sword."

The power that they could display was quite lacklustre.

Another problem was that a lot of these techniques were all close combat techniques.

As a Necromancer and Corpse Manipulator, Fang Yang's method of fighting should be to stay at the back and throw his corpses at enemies in order to overwhelm them to death with numerical supremacy.

How could Fang Yang do something as self-defeating and barbaric as to fight on the front lines?

From his memory, Fang Yang knew that Martial techniques and spells were all dived into 3 levels in this world, ranged lowest to highest they were:

Mortal,

Earth,

and Sky

Mortal Grade was the lowest and Sky grade was the highest.

In each grade, there were sublevels to make distinctions.

Those being Low tier, mid-tier, and High-tier.

It wasn't strange to find some low-tier Mortal grade techniques in the marketplace. Such techniques often flowed in from outside the sect or some nearby cultivation families.

But mid-tier Mortal Grade techniques and above were all basically impossible to find in these sorts of markets and would be tightly controlled by the sect.

It was because of this that none of the techniques that he saw available to buy in many stalls managed to catch his eyes

Just as Fang Yang was about to give up on finding a suitable technique, he saw a book that managed to catch his attention.

"Flying Swallow Knife Art"

Walking over towards the stall, Fang Yang asked the middle-aged man that was sitting at the stall,

"Can I take a look at that book?"

"You can," replied the man with a bright smile

Picking up the book, Fang Yang took a quick scan through the technique.

The flying swallow knife art was that was meant to be used with throwing knives.

It was supposed to be based on the object control art, allowing the user to have a vague amount of control of the throwing knives even whilst they were flying through the air.

As Fang Yang read more and more about the Flying Swallow Knife Art, the more satisfied he became.

'This is it!'
