I tremble in indecision and pain that hurts my soul. Those words… Can my eyes alone tell Zeke how much my heart bleeds from the idea of his suffering? Because my mouth can't form words.
"I believe I can make your decision simpler," the Dark Whisperer says.
The darkness suddenly falls away from us, giving an entire meter of free space in all directions. Then a part of it opens and a limb body supported by several thick tentacles by waist and shoulders floats forward from the dark depths.
I gasp. "R-Rose?!"
It's her. Her aura is that of a living person; but she appears to be in a stasis of some sort. There's not a wound on her, to my relief, but this doesn't say much.
"A hostage to sway your mind. I can share your torments with her, her parents, your parents, this woman's dog, every single person you ever knew… Even destroying the Earth is not within the realm of impossible. And will you still be 'saving' it, then?"
