Lizard stares at us with wide, flat eyes. "You found me, in this cursed place. How?"
I grin, and even being held at gunpoint doesn't diminish my glee—or maybe I get inured to the situations like these. "Well, it took quite a lot of math. And Zeke helped, of course."
"Math? Math?!" Suddenly, Lizard almost collapses on himself. He drops his gun and grabs his hair, pulling on it so hard I'm afraid he will tear it all out. He visibly shakes, and his voice is a wail. "There's no math in this place, no logic! We were lost in time the moment we stepped foot in this cursed castle."
I gasp and step closer, torn between a desire to offer compassion, and a need to listen to every word of this sudden confession; Zeke stops me with a hand that lands on my shoulder. Lizard doesn't even notice.
