Emma Ironheart, and Margret Field had left their campsite after the morning sun risen into the sky, opening the eyes of sleeping wildlife. Deers, saber-tooth cats, and other dangerous animals roamed the forest, but they didn't need to worry;
They were at their destination—that being a village that was closest to their own village.
["We finally made it, to east commoner village, the closest place to mediocre village. This is our first stop to search for Godfrey, and Olivia."] Emma took off her blue hoody, glancing around at the people who stared at them.
["We should ask the people here a few questions, then move onto the other villages. North commoner village is closest to the east. That will be our next target."] Margret also removed her hoody, looking around at the citizens who walked in the streets.
They separated from one another, proceeding to approach commoners who were walking along the village.
The other commoners seemed uncomfortable.
They weren't use to getting visitors, even if they were commoners from other villages and such. Despite each commoner village doing the same thing, such as providing food, and resources for Atlantis city, they all spent time in their own little environment, separate from one another.
Commoners were all in their separate location, isolated from their own kind.
But that same isolation in their own villages also created competitions, and jealousy.
There was always one commoner village trying to be better than the other. It's just the way humans work, you can't control it.
["Excuse me, has anyone seen a young brown haired boy with blue eyes, and a young red haired girl as well? I don't have any picture I can show you… since we left in a rush. Their name is Godfrey Ironheart, and Olivia Field."] Emma spoken out loud, drawing attention from the east commoners, however they ignored her, except one—
["Your accent, you must be one of those Mediocre village imbeciles. Leave our village, you have no right to be here!"] A man wearing a tunic with tattered shorts had spoken up, causing the other villagers to give death stares.
["Please… we're only trying to find our children."] Emma proclaimed.
["Find your children? Hahaha, just as I thought! Those of mediocre village are a bunch of irresponsible commoners! They're all so prideful from Atlantis city treating them better than the rest of the commoner villages. That prideful attitude causes you fools to become irresponsible, losing the concept of humbleness!"] A woman wearing a gown with a sleeveless tunic had also spoken up.
Emma and Margret were hated.
And it hasn't even been five minutes yet.
["That isn't true, we may be liked more from Atlantis city compared to other commoner villages, but that's due to our incredible doctors there. Nothing more."] Margret proclaimed.
["Ye doctors, eh? You darn fools are lucky that ye even have doctors! East commoner village has no health care, we have to go to old methods such as using herbs and plants to heal illnesses. There's not a single person in our village that knows healing magic."] An older lady said.
["Please, can we set our grudges to the side? I am very sorry that you all have to go through this… but we just want our children back."]
["You people aren't sorry for shit! Say those lies again, and I'll have Ferdows herself rain lightning from the heavens to strike you down!"] A man stepped forward, holding an axe in his hand.
["There isn't a need for such a violence approach… please do not act irrationally."] Emma sighed as she looked at the commoners surround them, throwing their tantrums.
["YOU FOOLS!"] Margret shouted, causing the commoners to jump back in shock. ["You can't even hear the words from mothers who worry for their children? You make up some bullshit assumption like us being irresponsible, to make yourselves feel better!? How dare you… how dare you people?"] Margret held up both of her hands, casting flames above her palms. ["I'll see you dead!"]
Emma facepalmed herself, turning around to grip both of Margret's wrist. ["There will be none of that, Margret, we didn't come here to start fights. We came here to find Godfrey and Olivia… so please, let's do this peacefully."]
Margret twitched in her eyes and dispersed her flames. She wanted to take her rage out on them, but she knew Emma was right.
["Did you say Godfrey and Emma?"] All the sudden, a young voice could be heard among the crowd.
["W-Who said that?"] Margret shouted in question.
["Me, I did!"]
Emma and Margret looked down to notice a child standing in front of them.
["Oh… and who may you be, little man?"] Emma asked.
["My name is Top, I was one of the kids captured by those demons, Godfrey and Olivia were the ones who saved us!"]
Emma and Margret glanced at each other with wide eyes.
Was this… true? They couldn't believe what they just heard.
["S-Saved you? A boy with brown hair, and a girl with red hair?"] Margret asked.
["Yeah, they guided us back home, keeping us safe from any bad guys! They were so cool, I wanna meet them again! Me and everyone else who were captured decided to build something as a thank you gift for them."]
["T-Top… is this true? The two 'heroes' you children call them, are actually other children as well?"] A man asked.
["Yeah, we just didn't say their names, since hero sounds a lot cooler."] Top responded.
["This is too good to be true. Our children is safe… thank you god. That relieves me so much!"] Emma sighed, placing a hand upon her chest. ["Does this mean they returned back home, safely?"]
["Umm, I actually don't know, mam. Once we tried introducing our parents to them, they just disappeared… as if they teleported away."]
Margret placed her hand underneath her chin.
["We can assume this means they returned home, since that is logical to assume. They're our children after all. They would know we're worried sick for them."] Margret proclaimed.
["I suppose we left soon as they arrived to Mediocre village. Our timing couldn't be any worse."] Emma scoffed at her own comment.
["Fufufu, Indeed, we did have the worst timing known to man, but we were just worried moms. Returning back home should verify their safety."]
["Right, I suppose that means we're making another trip down the same road?"] Emma asked.
["Another adventure with a Nazerak, count me in."] Margret said with a smirk.
["I-I don't know what to say…"] The man with the axe had dropped it to the ground, sighing to himself. ["You're the mothers to the children who saved my little boy… and I treated you harshly. Please, forgive me!"] He clasped his hands together, bowing.
The other commoners did the same.
They all gotten to their knees, bowing their heads in shame for their actions, surprising both Emma and Margret.
["O-Oh… that isn't necessary, please, there's no need; I understand that times must be hard for you all, and stress is common. I don't think ill of anyone here."] Emma gave her own bow to the commoners to show her respect, however Margret was crossing her arms, still annoyed from them… but that didn't last long, as an unexpected surprise took place—
KABOOM
A fiery explosion appeared from thin air, blowing up one of the houses in the village, as many others were also exploded from some unknown force.
Everyone screamed, and some covered their heads in fear.
["Whats happening!?"] Emma shouted as she looked up in the sky, noticing dozens of fireballs raining upon them.
["This village is under attack!"] Margret was the first to respond to the attack; casting ice magic from her hands, she launched waves of it into the sky, engulfing the fireballs in solid ice. ["Protect everyone, don't let a single attack fall down!"]
Emma nodded her head before holding out her hands, summoning wind magic above her palms.
["We must find the source of these attacks! That should be our number one priority!"] Emma launched torrents of wind at the raining fireballs, dispersing them upon contact, and knocking most of them off their course.
They were protecting the village at all costs, fighting against some unknown enemy that lurked in the shadows.
Fireballs kept coming from the sky, but not only that, an entire meteor rained down as well!
["A meteor? Is this the use of earth magic as well? It must either be a skilled Warlock to switch up magic so fast, or it's multiple enemies we're up against. Watch your back Emma, these guys are no joke!"]
Emma took flight with the help of wind magic, accelerating herself up to the meteor.
["I always watch my back, I'm a professional in battle."] Emma cocked her fist back while her momentum carried upwards. From Margrets point of view, it looked like Emma was going to… punch the meteor? ["You can have your meteor back! Allow me to return it to you!!!"] Emma was ready to throw her punch… until—
["Oh no, Emma, don't do it!"] Margret shouted from below, noticing the meteor getting larger.
It was too large… more than what Emma could handle.
["Shit—!"] Emma had nowhere to run.
She was about to collide with death.
