Chapter 23 - Ch 23: Trolls

Xalroz ends the head rubbing, being to Sannoth, seeking then to pick up his clothes left all around the ground. Putting piece by piece of each clothing onto the body.

"Tell me all you know about your scouting out the region of this land, Sannoth for me," Xalroz asked to move along to another subject away from the other one.

"Of course, as you have ordered me to do, I work immensely to gain much knowledge about lands of the north to the best of my abilities. I have spotted some other settlements filled with more of these northern people like the one on these lands. I found two so far that distance away, one being at the northwest and the second at the northeast."

"Alright, I take it more. It should be further north or at islands that are around. Anything more that can be reported to me." Xalroz asked, needing to know more of whatever is left to be useful.

"There is also a village population of trolls around this area deep within a forest."

"Trolls," Xalroz was interested in looking back." What kind are we talking about here? The savages, wild and not quite those smart ones that are corrupted or the ones that are more civilized yet to fall."

"The second my lord as I have come across such a village population of them living in a deep forest," Sannoth explains where the reaction he makes is showing to be thinking about it, but there is still more she has to tell.

"My lord, I thought to tell something else there is a small fort filled with a few of those humans." Xalroz breaks from thought after hearing that being a little interested in it.

"A fort you say well that can be a holding place for a lookout for any signs of threats coming most likely."

"That is the thing, Lord, it is a fort, but one that holds a living breathing Troll somewhere inside. This is what I learned from listening to two foolish humans talking about it as they were on the wall and the one responsible for keeping that thing there was someone called Valgard."

A troll in a fort filled with northern Vikings was the reason they would keep such a creature there, more shocking in knowing that Valgard was behind it. What could he be planning with the Troll?

"Valgard, you just get more interesting, I'm going to have fun with you. There is no count about it." Xalroz thought, but couldn't help it when Sannoth saw a huge smile on his face. This was an unexpected thing.

"Uh… does this seem to be pleasing to you, Lord Xalroz," she asked.

"Oh, it indeed is, I have to say you did well with this. If I was in my old position, you would be rewarded well for this."

"Serving you is all that is a reward for me." Xalroz believes her words find no lie in them, which makes him feel she can be someone there needs no reason to distrust.

"Well, let us begin our work on this new day, starting with the Trolls. Let us see if they can be made into friends or enemies."

[At the settlement morning time Grima]

During the morning time, the young girl Grima was at the market selecting needed items for today's dinner. She was planning to make a nice meal for the drow elf known to call Throkell.

Grima was truly happy to have gotten her father to agree for them to have him over for dinner as a way for the man to make up for the mistake of what he did to the elf.

"I can't wait to see Throkell's face when he gets a taste of what I plan to make for dinner. I do hope he gets enjoyment out of it." She thought.

As the girl was doing her shopping, someone around the place made their way over to her.

"Grima, what this I see doing a little fun shopping all alone, you should have brought someone to keep your company."

She turned her attention away from one of the stands Grima had stopped at to look at a young man with black hair and blue eyes. He wasn't alone. There were two more with one having pure golden hair and another black hair.

"What are you doing here," her tone was not friendly toward this person who had no problem getting an understanding feeling from the girl.

"Now don't need to get all like that, I haven't done anything wrong to you, and besides, I also have business here at the market." the young man said.

"If that is so, then there isn't a reason for you to be speaking with me." Grima was on guard around him as he and his friend were people that like to bully the girl and her friends when they were little,

"Why must there be a reason I can't just have a nice chat with you."

"No," that was all Grima had to say to him as she saw that it was time to go staying any longer wasn't for the best.

"Whoa, there were you thinking you were going." This guy reached for an arm, grabbing it to keep the girl from going anywhere, "get your hands off me, Ketil, or I swear it is going to be taken off in a not-so-well fashion."

"Oh please, what are you going to do? There's no one here to help you, not even that elf you seem to be so friendly with isn't here. So I think me and my friends and I would love to have you hang out with us, don't you think of how much fun we all can have somewhere else."

Grima likes not one-bit notice Ketil's friends come to move behind to make sure she can't get away that easily. The best this girl can do is scream for help at the marketplace to get help from anyone wanting to get in their way.

"What do you three think you are doing with her?"

[Near Troll village northwest]

Xalroz and Sannoth walk for a time, getting an insight into the outline of the land. As the two were getting close to the area where the Trolls village lay.

"Sannoth, hold your steps. I don't think we should keep on walking further. I believe there will be eyes on us at this very moment."

Sannoth listens to him having a strong sense as well, telling him two beings are hiding not far watching them. As these unknown watchers come to witness, these two stop moving.

"You should come out now. The hiding out sight thing no longer works since we can already tell you are there."
