"Why the hell did you just wave at him?" Ellie dropped her jaw after catching Sydney waving at the neighbor, who apparently was just coming out of his house at the same time they were. Lately, It's as if he knows when they are about to leave and he would come out of his house to join them in leaving as well.
Is he and Sydney dating already in secret? Because he waved right back at her and with a very big smile plastered on his face.
"Wha? What? ...Did I do wrong? Is it wrong to wave at a neighbor now too? I just turned around to fix my shoes when our eyes made contact. I didn't know what to do and I certainly didn't want to start cringing again, so I just waved only"
Sydney hurried to explain the situation to Ellie. So she doesn't misunderstand if she hasn't started to already because she's giving her this judgmental look.
