"You are really not going to go home to see Mom and Dad before they go through with the divorce? It'll be happening on Monday, three days from now, Syd." Shane's finally having a peaceful conversation with Sydney in his living room after all the fight and the hassle that they went through earlier.
It wasn't easy but he was able to persuade her to calm down at last, so they could talk things out and not resort to violence like kids.
"Lately, you seem to be having problems with your ears, Shane. How many times do I have to repeat myself before you'll ever get it that I'm not going to be stepping foot back home, not now, not ever"
Shane sighed after Sydney dropped that statement. Even before she left home, she proved to everyone that once her mind was made up, she hardly changed it.
"Are we done here? I got somewhere else to be right now" Sydney flipped her jacket while getting on her feet to leave. She doesn't see anything else to discuss with Shane, except their parents which she is never in the mood to talk about.
"Sydney wait!" Shane hurried up to his feet and rushed, holding Sydney back from leaving. She headed for the door straight to leave after he didn't quickly give her the response she wanted when she asked if they were done here or not.
"I'm sorry" He apologized and let go of her arm, realizing he wasn't allowed to do that. She might get mad again and try to hurt him for laying hands on her without permission. "Look, I just want to be sure you are never going to regret this later in the …"
"I'm not going to regret anything, Shane. Remember I never regret anything I do" Sydney boldly looked Shane directly in the eyes and told him this. She opened the door and then left but not without murmuring to him. "Except for what I did for Barry"
Shane could say he felt almost the same amount of hurt that Sydney felt when she told him that. But there's no way he could compare it to how hurt his sister must have felt when she voiced that out. She must have felt forced to do it. She just made him recall exactly the day she told him about wanting to run away from home with her Barry.
She mentioned almost the same words that day, saying she does not regret anything she does. Except she said that she never regrets anything she does for Barry instead.
"I'm sorry you had to remember that. I'll leave just as you want, Syd" Shane affirmed, however, Sydney he was speaking to was long gone from where he stood, talking to himself.
He has his mind made up, he's going to move out since that's the only way for Sydney to feel happy once again. Lately, she appears to be stressed out and without a single doubt, he knows it's because of his presence around her. As her second big brother, this is the only thing that Shane can do for his little sis for her to feel whole again.
He would disappear from her life just as he came into it without her knowing.

Sydney went back home, however, the way that she forced the door open almost caused damage to it. It's as if she was struggling to be the first one to get inside the house with anyone. Leaning against the door, Sydney looked up to the ceiling and wiped away the stupid tear that suddenly forced its way out of her eyes.
She couldn't stand, feeling too weak in the knees as she then slid down to the floor while still leaning against the door. Before Sydney could even realize it, she began to cry. To be frank, she doesn't know why she's crying but feels like she's supposed to.
She's been holding on for too long and acting as if she doesn't get affected by anything. So, maybe it'll be okay for her to cry this time, but it'll be just this once only. The moment that Sydney decided to stop fighting the tears back and let it all out, she regretted it instantly because she wasn't only crying, but wailing too.
"Mommy?..." An angelic voice called out so softly, however, the tears in Sydney's eyes were too much and even caused her vision to be blurry for her to see who called.
But she didn't need to wipe the tears off for her to know who that sweet voice belonged to.
"Roman? baby?" Sydney wiped the years off immediately when she felt her baby coming closer to her. She spread her arms open and welcomed him into her warm embrace.
"Hey honey, wh…what are you still doing here? I thought you left already with Auntie Ellie?" Sydney questioned with a huge amount of confusion written all over her face. She can clearly remember telling Ellie to take Roman with her to the coffee shop and even watch her leave to go do as she was told.
Why is he still back home? What about Ellie? Is she home too? Why haven't they left yet?
"Mom, why are you crying? Did someone look for your trouble like Ray did to me?" Roman brought Sydney back to reality with the questions he asked. She was too lost in thoughts, trying to figure out why Ellie hadn't left for the shop with him yet.
Roman shouldn't have seen her crying, now he's worried about her.
"What? no, no baby…something just entered my eyes" Sydney laughed, finding Roman's question funny as she lied about the reason she was crying. She didn't need him feeling sad over her. He even shouldn't have caught her crying.
"It hurts so much I had to cry, but I got it out. So don't worry, Mom isn't going to cry anymore" Sydney embraced Roman so tight as if she might lose him if she let go mistakenly. She pecked him on the hair and then sniffed, feeling her nose running.
"Roman!... Where are you? Come on, we have to leave before Mom comes back and kills me for going to the shop late…" Ellie's voice wore off immediately at the sight of Roman and Sydney embracing each other affectionately at the entrance door.
She has been searching all over for him as the boy refused to leave for the shop without his mom going along with rhe.m. He went into hiding and Ellie has been going around the house, searching for him but still was unable to find him till now.
"Sydney?... He refused to come with me...he insisted on all of us going together. He didn't…" Ellie struggled trying to find what to say to Sydney, so she wouldn't get mad at her for not leaving with Roman to the shop yet.
However, Sydney being an understanding person didn't get mad at her, knowing how clingy Roman likes to get with her sometimes. "It's Okay, we'll all go together as he wants"
