During the live video, Dixie watched as her friends talked and acted like they were not just crying and being mad at each other some minutes ago.
They are good at this life. It's meant for them, she thought. She hoped they meant what they were saying, she didn't know if she should be on the lookout for Evie, she also didn't know if Avery had truly changed from being the selfish, self-absorbed and mean girl she used to be. As she looked at them, her eyes wandered towards Aubrey and she saw him looking at her. He had a devious smile on his face. She felt her insides immediately started yearning for him. She remembered the wild summer they both had. She had flashes of all the things they did to each other, how their bodies accepted and explored each other. She let her eyes wander over his body and she knew exactly what was where, she knew his body that well but their romance was in secrecy because she had an agreement pact with her friends that they would never have sex with each other's siblings. She knew it would make Avery very upset, she didn't know if she would ever forgive her but Aubrey didn't seem to care about what Avery thought—maybe because he didn't know of the pact, and also because his sister's anger had never directly affected him.
She quickly looked back at Avery and Evie to see if they saw the look that had just transpired between herself and Aubrey. She was relieved they didn't notice but she didn't look at him anymore.
After the live video, Avery's father, called her again to tell her that he had arrived at the hotel with her mother. She announced to her friends and everyone present in the room that she had to go be with her parents and Aubrey had to go with her.
"Has he sent you the location yet?" Aubrey asked her.
"Yeah, he just sent it. I gotta shower or something. I stink." She replied as she walked into her room.
"I've been telling you that all your life." Aubrey teased.
"Fuck you, you asshole!" She yelled. Evie, I need you" She yelled again and Evie went to her room.
Jennie was on another call so she didn't notice when Dixie and Aubrey snuck into Dixie's room. She signalled him, then went in first and then shortly after, Aubrey followed her.
Immediately he got in, he closed the door, startling her. She turned to face him, wide eyes and scared that someone might have seen him come into her room, but he hushed her and cupped her face with one of his palm and then grabbed her waist with the other hand. Then he brought his face close to her face and when they were inches apart from each other, he whispered, "Can I kiss you, Miss Bach?"
He knew that she got turned on whenever he called her that. She protested a little—as always, but eventually had to give in to being kissed. He started with light kisses on her already parted lips. Immediately she tasted him, it felt like fireworks were released in her stomach. Her feelings were all over the place and she threw caution into the wind as they kissed hungrily but passionately.
"I've missed you" she moaned and allowed him take the lead. He drew back and watched her face. Her eyes were already closed but her lips were still parted, he smiled and looked her and said, "Damn, you are always ready for my touch...I love that." She felt butterflies in her stomach and he smiled down at her as he deepened the kiss and sucked her tongue. Then he moved his hands under the big shirt she was wearing. He noted that she had been wearing a silky g-string panties that exposed her entire bum, and so he rubbed his palm against each butt cheek. Then he grabbed her thigh and raised her leg up till he held it up to his waist She gasped and tried to keep herself from falling but he lifted the other leg, basically carrying her and they continued making out.
They were interrupted by Evie's voice as she opened the door, caught them and said, "what the actual fuck!" Evie's jaw dropped and she stood transfixed to one spot. Dixie's eyes widened and she fell on her knees and began to beg her, "I know what you think but it's totally different."
"You're disgusting. Both of you are." She finally said. Then she turned to Dixie and said, "You're unbelievable. Avery will be so fucking pissed. What the fuck Dixie?! Why would you betray Avery like this? I can't even look at you right now."
"I don't think you should be—"
"Oh shut up Aubrey! This is not about you, it's about our fucking friendship pact." She snapped at Aubrey and was about to leave the room when Dixie held her back and said, " Please Evie, you can't tell Avery, I promise it'll never happen again—"
Aubrey laughed and said, "Never? I don't think so"
"Oh my God, can you just fucking shut up? Don't ruin things for me!" Dixie told him.
Dixie looked at them disgusted and then she said, "But why him? You don't even like him, I mean, you said so."
Aubrey laughed again and said "Really? That's weird, she told me—"
"Aubrey! I'm begging you, STOP!" Dixie snapped at Aubrey and then told Evie, "Evie please, this is not what you think it is."
Aubrey was tired of the back and forth between the girls so he walked towards Evie and said, "Here's what will happen, I will go to Avery and tell her that—"
The door just flung open and revealed Avery who said, "Tell Avery what?"
Evie and Dixie looked at each other while Aubrey smiled deviously, looked at both girls and turned to face Avery like nothing happened and said, "That she spends too much time trying to look better than a dumpling but it's no use, the dumpling wins. Every. Single. Time. Without even trying."
Avery knew they were all lying but she was not about to get into the truth, she believed that whatever they were lying about could wait till she sorted out her parents, so she rolled her eyes and told Aubrey, "You're as stupid as your hair. Fuck outta here, weirdo!"
As he left, he winked at Dixie. Evie saw it and had a shocked expression on her face as she turned to look at Dixie. Avery didn't notice the look because she was focused on getting ready to meet her parents. She wore a green sweater and a black leggings. She looked at her friends for wardrobe approval. Evie helped her arrange her ponytail and handed her a sunglasses but she rejected it.
"Dixie, are you okay? You've been quiet since I came in." Avery asked Dixie.
Dixie looked at Avery and wondered if she should just darn the consequence and tell her that she had been sleeping with her brother and recent ex-boyfriend since summer. She didn't know if she loved Aubrey but she knew she wanted to always spend time with him because he made her feel things she didn't know she could feel.
She just cleared her throat and said, "Yeah, I'm just trying to process some things."
"Troy just texted me." Evie said suddenly, she was trying to get rid of the awkward silence, it made her nervous and she knew that it might make Avery ask indirect and uncomfortable questions and she might blurt things out.
"Oh? What did he say?" Avery asked.
"That he's sorry that this happened. Asked how we're holding up? Said the next party he'll throw will be strictly 'no phones or no entry', and he said the Dean called him in for questioning...Uh, er, gosh! He just keeps typing."
"Just facetime him or something." Dixie suggested.
Evie FaceTimed Troy and in less than a second after the phone rang, he accepted the call and smiled immediately he saw the faces of all three girls.
"I'm so sorry Avery, I take full responsibility for this."
Avery just shrugged and said, "Don't worry about it."
"The Dean asked me to cooperate with the security team and provide the names of all the people who attended the party."
"Woah, did you?" Avery asked him.
"I had to—Avery, I'd have done anything to make sure you girls were safe."
"Thanks buddy, you're the best." Evie said.
"You do know it's a misunderstanding." Avery asked
"Yeah, I saw the news later on, that was after the live video you did."
The call went on till Avery told him she had to be with her parents. He wasn't surprised they were in town. He told them he'd call them later or text them and then they hung up.
"I think this will be it" Avery announced as she walked out of the room to tell Jennie and her brother that she was done with dressing up. Then they all left, leaving Dixie and Evie at home.
"Send your mum my love" Evie called out before they walked out of the room.
"Alrighty" Avery called back.
They used the elevator and when it opened in front of them, Avery saw Mason. He looked angry and wornout and then she smiled and tried to wave at him but when their eyes met, he frowned and acted like he did not know who she was. It was humiliating. She wondered if she had done anything last night that must have made him act that way towards her. She didn't know what she had done but she didn't also think she deserved the cold way he treated her. She wanted to thank him for helping her last night from the hazy memory she had of them.
Aubrey nudged her after he noticed how cold the guy from the elevator to his little sister and then he asked he would the guy was and she said, "I'm not so sure I know him anymore... He's acting like a total jerk" before the elevator door closed.
"Well, he's a jerk."
"He was the one from the stalker video."
"He doesn't seem like a stalker."
Avery shot him a stern look and said, "You don't think I know? Can we drop the stalker convo, it's getting old and very boring. I'm sick of it already."
I'm just saying, he must have felt bad that you called him a stalker."
"I know...Especially after the night we literally just had." Avery began.
"I didn't need to know that." Aubrey replied.
"No, it's nothing like that. I was wasted and I think he helped me home and all." She explained.
"What about Evie and Dixie? Why didn't they help you?" Jennie asked.
"I think they were there but they somehow allowed him to help me."
"Well, in that case, I think you should apologise to him." Aubrey advised.
"For the misunderstanding?" Avery asked
"No, for letting his cat die. Of course it's for the misunderstanding." Aubrey replied sarcastically.
"You're not a funny person, Aubrey, you're just stupid." Then she called Evie.
Evie picked up the call after the second ring.
"Yeah, Evie, I think Mason is mad at me for the video and shit, can you maybe go talk to him on my behalf? I don't have his contact, I would've done it myself...Okay, thank you...Bye, love you."
They got into the car and Avery continued to wonder if the video was the only reason he was mad at her or if there was some other reason. But she couldn't get over how she felt when he acted so cold towards her. It made her mad and she immediately regretted telling Evie to go apologise but, it was too late.
Aubrey noticed the way she was behaving and asked her if she was okay, she nodded but he could see she wasn't, so he insisted that she told him what was bothering her.
"You know, I just think it's funny how he gets to get mad at me. I was the one confused about the rude way he'd stare at me like he couldn't speak. Did I get upset? No! Matter of fact, I even went to talk to him. I did that because knew that if I didn't, he'd just continue staring at me and it was not cool. Now, he has the audacity to get mad at me over a conversation I was having with my friend. Was his behaviour not suspicious? I think it was! He really shouldn't play an uno reverse one on me. You know what? I can play that game. I am the queen of that game."
"Avery, do you like him? Do you have a crush on him?" Jennie asked.
Avery had stunned both she and Aubrey and they knew she had to like him to let him get into her head.
She frowned and said, "What? Ew. I'd never. He's dead to me. I'm over it already."
"Well, That's nice. Then the pettiness is not exactly necessarily. Unless of course you like him." Aubrey responded. He knew his sister liked the guy, even though she denied him.
"Like I said Aubrey, I'm over it and you should stop asking me stupid questions. Concentrate on your stuff. You have a girlfriend, how's she?" She asked trying to get the attention off of her.
Aubrey laughed and said "Don't digress Avery."
Avery ignored him and said, "How's Santana or was it Monique?"
"It's Monique and she's okay." He said flatly.
"Great. When was the last time you saw her?"
"I was with her last weekend. And we're fine and very much in love."
"Good for you."
The car stopped in front of the hotel that their parent were staying and the doorman open the door for them.
When they got to the suite, they knocked and their mother opened the door.
"Hey mum!" Avert said and hugged her mother.
"I've missed you baby." Aurora said and tightened the hug.
