As soon as the door was shut, Afina took easy steps just so she wouldn't wake Father Atticus who appeared to be fast asleep on the bed.
She directly went to Mama Xylia's side of the bed and began to search the bed drawer for the letter.
She only ended up with nothing. She was right, Mama Xylia would be smarter than keeping the letter so carelessly in the drawer.
As she stood with folded hands and in front of the drawer, lost in deep thought,
"Anything the matter, Baby Blue?" The voice of Father Atticus flew to her ears.
Jumping as a result of being startled, "Oh!" she gasped.
He was supposed to be fast asleep. Father Atticus had not watched her acting all sneaky like a thief, had he?
Even he appeared equally alarmed, probably because he saw how jumpy she was.
"Are you okay, Baby Blue?" with raised brows, he asked.
Afina had to force a smile on her face. "I'm fine, Father Atticus." she sat beside him.
