"Has there been any problem, your eminence?" Celio walked up to him the moment Valentina was out of sight.
Cargan's circled his palm and bended the sand away. "Something is out of place with Ophelia. I punished her already though but she needs to go," he answered.
"Does that mean we have to scout for a new wife for you?" Celio asked.
Cargan gave a deep sigh and laid his clenched fists on the desk.
He hated that he would go through the process of tying the knot once again.
"I'm glad it happened this time. I will have to make a thorough selection among the high-house scholars instead of substituting for some random whore."
Cargan was taken aback when Celio placed his palm on Cargan's fist and said,
"I believe you will find a cure soon, your eminence. You won't have to go through all of this again. Just keep on dragging the rope until then."
It was so unlike Celio to be this way and awkward for Cargan to see Celio being sentimental.
