Adramelch's arrogance didn't stun Cargan. Even though it was unlikely that Adramelech had been poisoned, he'd still want to beat that indifference out of him by replacing it with fear.
"I could care less about that, brother. It's your line, your problem. I know you are strong enough to solve it. I wish you good luck." Adramelech replied with finality but Cargan wouldn't let him off that easily.
He spilled the beans. "It's the High House Scholar you slept with, brother. Before she is executed along with her family, you better come to interrogate her or go get yourself checked. She might have done something to you too. Who knows?"
"WHAT?!" Adramelech's shock boomed from the other end.
Even Cargan hadn't expected him to be this awestruck. It pleased Cargan though – that his brother's pride had been let down. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Giada?" Adramelech breathed.
