"You said he was a stranger?" Prince Cargan had questioned and Afina nodded.
"Yes, your eminence."
"And you were about to retrieve your quilt from him but got hypocritically captured in camera in that manner?"
Again, "Yes, your eminence." Afina replied.
"Have you seen him ever since then?"
Oh, that question.
She could not possibly mention that Fionn the thief climbed her window without getting him in trouble so, once again, she omitted that part.
"I did see him again, your eminence."
A prompt reply from the prince. "When?"
"Today."
A pause.
For the first time since she arrived, Prince Cargan turned. The pool of sand swirled along with his body as he swiveled.
Now, his gaze bore down on Afina with unwavering authority, his eyes commanding attention and submission as if he held the power of the entire globe in his intense stare.
The things those gazes do to her – to her senses, motions, it was crazy.
