Chereads / Villain's Supremacy : Apocalypse / Chapter 20 - Danger to society

Chapter 20 - Danger to society

Ezekiel was acutely aware of his parents' priorities. He knew that they cared more about their reputation than they did about their own flesh and blood.

It was a harsh reality that he had come to accept, and one that had guided his actions for years.

As he held Nathan in his arms, watching the tears stream down the child's face, Ezekiel couldn't help but feel a sense of anger towards his parents. He knew that they would never care for Nathan the way he did.

And so, with a heavy heart, he cast a sleeping spell on the child, knowing that it was the only way to protect him from the callousness of his own parents.

But as he did so, Ezekiel made sure to look deeply into the eyes of his mother and father. They were both standing there, scowling at him, their concern for their reputation palpable.

"What do you think you're going to do with a kid on your side?" his father sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.

"Do you even know how to take care of a little kid?" his mother added, her tone equally contemptuous.

Ezekiel didn't flinch. He knew exactly how to take care of Nathan. In fact, he had done it before. He had been the one to raise Nathan when he was just a baby. He had cooked for him, changed his diapers, bathed him, played with him, and taken him for walks. He had done all of it, and he knew that he was more than capable of doing it again.

"As if you don't already know," Ezekiel shot back. "I was the one who took care of Nathan before. I know how to take care of him. Last time you managed to stress me out, but this time you will never get into my head again."

Ezekiel held Nathan closer to his chest, silently promising to protect him from the cold-heartedness of his parents. He would do whatever it took to keep Nathan safe, even if it meant standing up to his own family.

Ezekiel held Nathan close to him, his mind filled with questions that he longed to have answers to. He wanted to understand why the government was using supremacy signs to oppress the people, and what their ultimate goal was.

He had hoped that his father, being in a position of power, could offer him some insight, but instead, he was met with disdain and insults.

"Bastards like you are a danger to society," his father had spat at him, as if Ezekiel was the one causing harm and not the corrupt government they served. It was clear that his parents were more concerned with their own reputation than the well-being of the people they were supposed to serve.

Frustrated with their lack of understanding, Ezekiel couldn't help but speak out. "Is it possible that you really don't know why? Even with being on top of people around here you still don't know why people like me are being eliminated. Is this the case? Trust me, this will only guarantee that you are not even smart," he said, his voice tinged with sarcasm.

His mother's response was to simply tell him to leave the child alone, as if her concern for Nathan was genuine. Ezekiel knew better, he knew that his parents didn't care about Nathan, they only cared about their own image.

Despite his anger and frustration, Ezekiel managed to restrain himself from lashing out at his parents. He knew that killing them would only shift suspicion towards Edward, and he didn't want to risk his grandfather's safety. Instead, he made his way out of the building.

"Right now all that matters is Nathan and nothing else " .

The bustling city was a far cry from the peaceful countryside that Ezekiel was used to.

With his younger brother cradled in his arms, Ezekiel discreetly cast a spell to conceal Nathan from prying eyes.

His heart raced as he made his way to the nearest hotel, knowing that every step he took could mean the difference between safety and capture. He had to be careful, he had to be smart.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Ezekiel's eyes scanned the lobby, making sure that there were no government officials lurking around.

He let out a sigh of relief as he approached the counter to pay for a room. He couldn't risk staying in a seedy motel - the government would undoubtedly search those places first.

With the keys in hand, Ezekiel swiftly made his way to the room. As soon as he entered, he carefully placed Nathan on the bed, making sure he was warm and comfortable.

He pulled two blankets over his brother's small frame before taking a seat next to him, his back pressed against the wall.

His mind raced with the weight of the situation. He knew he couldn't stay there for long, but he had to come up with a plan.

Ezekiel's thoughts drifted to his parents, wondering what they were doing, and if they would come after him. He couldn't let that happen, he had to protect Nathan at all costs.

The weight of responsibility on his shoulders was heavy, but he knew he had to be strong for his brother.

As he sat there in the silence, Ezekiel knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but he was determined to keep his brother safe.

He had to be vigilant, he had to be smart, and he had to be brave.

' I have to be more careful, I knew that they wouldn't even make a fuss about it, they were too scared even to talk to me and with that I just have to know why am I so dangerous ? Is it just because I have more powers ? I don't think so, I think it is more than this, supremacy is not just about magical powers, it is more than this , this world is more complicated and I have to find out about everything that has been hidden from the masses '

Nathan moved while he was sleeping which brought Ezekiel out of his sick thoughts , he covered him again then started to look at his face .

" I missed you, Nathan, I don't know even if I am allowed to say this to you, but please trust your big brother with this, I am not the same person anymore, I am not weak and I am definitely not bound to any family ties anymore, I only have you and that is more than enough, I would understand if you hated my guts, that would be normal to me but please don't die on me again "

Ezekiel touched Nathan's cute little cheek then leaned towards the wall again and started to think again :" Firstly, I need a new identity, secondly I need a place to stay, thirdly I need to start spying and infiltrating this stupid system to gain informations, every steps of these is very hard to achieve while being with Nathan, he can't be near me in any cases"

Ezekiel was more focused now, he had to know what was going on; and being exposed helped him overcome all the barriers .

He waited 17 years in silence just to help his little brother but now that the government was after him there was nothing that was going to stop him from achieving his goals .

Just right when he was about to sleep, Ezekiel heard a knock on the door .

It was very late, he just couldn't think of any possible reason that someone would come to his room at that late hour .

At first he tried to ignore it but the knocking didn't stop, therefore he just said:" Who is this ?
