Chapter 24 - Inside the cell

Ezekiel was experiencing a troubling sensation - a growing warmth that made each passing second more unbearable. His breathing became labored, and frustration boiled over as he realized that the source of his discomfort had eluded his previous searches.

With a determined expression, he glanced upward, fixing his gaze on the one area he had yet to inspect.

The uppermost portion of the cell loomed above him, shrouded in an impenetrable darkness. Though the walls were equipped with conventional lighting fixtures, the ceiling remained untouched by their glow.

Undeterred, Ezekiel summoned a spell, conjuring a radiant orb of light in his palm. He raised his arm towards the ceiling, but to his dismay, the darkness seemed to swallow the illumination, leaving him no closer to a solution.

The height of the room seemed almost insurmountable, leaving Ezekiel feeling small and helpless in its shadows.

"Are you kidding me right now?" he said with frustration.

Ezekiel poured all his energy into generating a brighter light, desperate to find a way out of the scorching cell. Despite his efforts, the ceiling remained stubbornly out of reach, and the heat from the floor made standing unbearable. His shoes seemed to be melting, and he could feel the searing pain in his feet.

With no other options left, Ezekiel made a bold decision to climb the wall. He abandoned his attempts to light the ceiling and began to scale the rough surface using whatever handholds he could find. His initial progress was aided by the brick designs, but as he climbed higher, he struggled to find any purchase, and his arms and legs began to feel weak.

Even as his fingers bled, Ezekiel remained determined to reach the top, his thoughts fixed on his little brother Nathan. The climb seemed endless, but he refused to give up, pushing his body to the brink of exhaustion.

As Ezekiel reached the limit of the bricks, he summoned his light spell once more, illuminating the few meters of wall above him. He surveyed the area, searching for a new route to continue his ascent, but to no avail. Frustrated, he took a moment to clear his mind and consider his options.

The heat that had plagued him before had now intensified into a raging fire, burning beneath him and threatening to consume him. Though he had climbed for some time, he knew that the fire's intensity and speed would soon overtake him.

Ezekiel attempted to douse the flames with water, but the source of the fire seemed endless, unyielding to his spells. In a moment of clarity, he realized that he needed to find a way to protect himself from the inferno.

" Maybe I could just create something that could protect my body from the fire , maybe I could just stay where I am without moving and still survive this," he said while trying to organize his thoughts .

Looking at his arms, he contemplated creating a shield or barrier to shield himself from the flames. With his mind racing, he weighed his options and considered the possibility that staying put in the cell might be the key to finding a way out.

`` Maybe the main goal of this was to stay there in that cell and find a way out from underneath it ``

For a person with a mind as sharp as Ezekiel's, countless thoughts and possibilities crowded his mind, making his situation all the more difficult. But he remained determined to survive, to find a way out from under the cell and emerge victorious.

Then a different idea crossed his mind, he just remembered that people with supremacy signs could be killed so easily and that is why he just had to think carefully before the next step.

" I get it now, they keep us blind for a reason `` He said .

He looked underneath him and he only found that the fire was approaching him with the speed and time he predicted, he was not even surprised by his calculation .

`` Well, creating a protection suit over my body is not even an option right now because I can't even predict if my protection is going to be that strong ``.

At this point, Ezekiel just sighed again and looked up and this time he was very determined to keep moving forward .

`` Thinking about going down only stopped me from moving forward, I will reach the roof no matter what `` He said with a lot of enthusiasm.

When he just started to be focused about this plan, he started to think of a spell that could help him in such a difficult situation , He looked around him then said:`` If I could only stick my hands to the wall and climb up``

Ezekiel's mind raced as he thought about how to overcome this obstacle. He remembered a spell he had learned in school, a simple one meant for facilitating the crossing of icy rivers in the winter. It involved sticking one's legs to the ice, allowing for safer passage.

But this time, he had a different idea. What if he used the same concept, but on his hands? He knew it wouldn't be easy; the spell was designed for a specific purpose, and modifying it for his current situation would take careful consideration and skill.

With a deep breath, Ezekiel focused his magic, channeling it into his hands. He couldn't just use any adhesive - it had to be something that relied on the balance of his magic power. Too much, and he could lose control; too little, and the spell wouldn't work.

He concentrated, visualizing the right amount of power needed to maintain balance and control over his entire body. Gradually, he felt a strange sensation in his hands, like they were becoming one with the surface they touched.

A sense of triumph swelled within him. He knew he could do it. Nothing could stop him now. With his newly acquired sticky hands, he resumed his climb with renewed determination, leaving the fire far below.

`` I think this will work`` He then focused all of his senses to do this progressive version of that spell .

`` Nothing can stop me ``
