Chapter 21 - Someone who uses his powers !

The sudden knock on the door sent a jolt of fear through Ezekiel's body. He felt a lump forming in his throat as he tried to calm his racing thoughts. It had only been a moment of silence, but it felt like an eternity.

He knew that something was definitely wrong, and he couldn't shake the feeling of impending danger.

He looked down at his sleeping brother, who seemed to be completely unaware of the situation.

The knocking resumed, more forceful this time. It was definitely not a friendly visitor. Ezekiel's heart was pounding as he walked towards the door. He tried to calm his racing thoughts as he reached for the doorknob.

"Ezekiel Cooper, open the door!" A man's voice barked out, full of hostility and aggression.

Ezekiel's hand froze on the doorknob. He could feel the danger lurking on the other side of the door. He knew that the hotel workers were likely fast asleep, and this man's sudden appearance was highly suspicious.

He had to think fast and act wisely to protect his brother and himself.

.

'He knows my name, and he is definitely not a worker here, that hostility, he is definitely aware of my state and he clearly wants to put an end to this , in his dreams !!!' Ezekiel thought .

Ezekiel's heart was racing as he stood in front of his brother, prepared to do whatever it takes to protect him. He knew that the man outside was dangerous and could cause harm to both of them.

As he stood there, he could hear the man's breathing on the other side of the door. He knew that he had to act fast, but he didn't want to make any rash decisions that could put Nathan in danger.

Taking a deep breath, Ezekiel closed his eyes and focused all his energy on the protection spell he had cast. He could feel the power coursing through his veins as he chanted the incantation under his breath.

' No one could take me down, at least with the level they showed in this corrupted society,' he thought.

The room was silent except for the sound of his own breathing and the man's heavy footsteps outside. Ezekiel's heart was pounding in his chest as he waited for what seemed like an eternity.

Suddenly, the man's footsteps stopped. For a moment, Ezekiel thought that he had given up and left. But then he heard a strange sound, as if someone was trying to pick the lock.

Without hesitation, Ezekiel positioned himself in front of Nathan, ready to fight off anyone who tried to enter the room. He knew that he was outnumbered and outmatched, but he was determined to protect his brother at any cost.

After what felt like hours, the door finally opened. A tall, menacing figure stepped into the room, his eyes fixed on Ezekiel.

But before he could make a move, the protection spell kicked in, surrounding Ezekiel and Nathan with a powerful shield.

' Ah, this means that this man doesn't even care whether he is about to drag attention to him at this point, he just doesn't care about this anymore, after all what happened to my classmate, I think that the government doesn't care about hiding the threats, they want people to see what is coming for them if they crossed the lines and broke the rules, they want them to fear the government and the punishment .

This is how this fuck***ing system works, fear, and legends that can't be proven, and a lot of stupid people who don't even think about what is thrown on them …..They are just like cheap'

As Ezekiel tried to catch his breath, he looked at the man in front of him in disbelief. The government had taken things to a whole new level by sending masked men to hunt him down. The mask was eerie, with sharp teeth and a long tongue, it looked like something out of a horror movie.

The man was dressed in a long, dark coat that looked like it was straight out of a medieval era. Ezekiel had only seen such clothing in books and movies, and he couldn't help but wonder why a government agent would wear something so archaic.

Despite the confusion and fear swirling inside him, Ezekiel stood his ground, determined to protect his brother at all costs. He took a step forward, ready to face the masked man, who had not yet made a move.

The tension in the air was palpable, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still.

Ezekiel raised his arm in a defensive gesture, positioning himself between the intruder and his vulnerable brother. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" he shouted, his voice strong despite his fear.

The man responded with an air of confidence, "You know why I'm here, Ezekiel Cooper."

Ezekiel's disappointment was palpable as he took in the man's attire - dark clothes, a long coat, and a terrifying mask adorned with sharp teeth and a protruding tongue. He scoffed at the man's comment, responding with a hint of sarcasm, "So you're trying to talk to me like a woman, huh? Pathetic."

As the man entered the room, the chaos outside continued. The workers who had come to see what was going on were too terrified to intervene, and some had even fled the scene. If this had happened in a less luxurious hotel, Ezekiel knew that the outcome would have been much worse.

People tend to be nosy in such situations, often putting themselves in harm's way.

"You're coming with me right now," the man demanded.

Ezekiel couldn't help but smirk sarcastically before responding, "And why is that?"

"Because you don't want to get killed by me," the man replied in a cold, menacing tone.

With a flick of his wrist, a blue circle full of magical ruins materialized in front of Ezekiel's palm. It was wide enough to cover him from head to waist, reflecting a vibrant blue light onto his face. His piercing blue eyes seemed to glow with an otherworldly power.

The man laughed, a low, guttural sound that echoed throughout the room. "Finally, someone who uses their powers," he remarked.
