As Shijie moved away from the table where his parents and other guests were seated and began heading towards where the snacks were placed, suddenly out of nowhere he was surrounded by boys and girls his age as well as those older than him by a few years.
This was the first time Shijie was interacting with so many people in his age group and so keeping his hungry stomach aside, Shijie decided to stick around some more.
However as he talked with these young masters and young ladies of rich noble households, Shijie only got disappointed.
Instead of what he expected to be an interesting and fruitful talk, he only got some kids who wanted to pick a fight for no reason and others who wanted to flatter him with honeyed words.
What Shijie didn't know was that most of the kids weren't his equals as they were only from minor warlord families in the region specifically advised to make 'friends' with him.
