Dawn graced the horizon, pouring beams of brilliant orange light across the vast city of Edain.
Many inhabitants of the city were already up and about, preparing for their daily business. Countless small bakeries and food stands were already up and running, delicious aromas of morning foods wafting through the streets and drawing in customers.
Food was available almost anywhere in the city. You could hardly walk a block down the road without seeing a line of people gathered in front of one hot food stall or another. Not many people cooked- there were no gas or electric stoves, ovens, or other cooking appliances. The vast majority of the city's populace relied on food stalls for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Some more creative food establishments even took to the canals, drifting slowly through the streets while shouting out their goods.
