Chapter 7 - 7. Meeting the Johnson's...

Erina could not understand how she was still sitting down next to Reuel Caddel, and now they were headed to the restaurant in SillVille that she had so highly spoken of. 'Me and my big mouth' was all she could blame for this.

He had sent his driver back, so he handled the wheel himself, and it was a sight to see. The car windows were lowered down, so the cool wind filled the car, whisking through his black beautiful hair, making him shine even more than he was supposed to. 'Get your sh*t together Erina... Take your eyes off the candy.' She tells herself again.

But the candy was almost too hard to resist.

"This place better be worth the distance." Reuel throws her a quick glance and smiles, and she nervously smiles back.

"I already told you it's not." She mumbles.

"But only after you had me absorbed in the illusion of the place you painted for me... I can't sleep if I'm curious, so I have to see and taste for myself to kill my curiosity." He explains.

She had nothing more to say to the man. There was clearly no way to talk him out of this madness, so she just sat there quietly as he drove them following her careful directions.

"This is the place." She announces after the drive of almost two hours. With a warm smile on her face, she looked out her window. He tilts his head, slightly leaning towards her so he could look out her own window too.

"This is, Ohh..." She broke off as she turned only to find his face right in front of hers, looking directly at her. 'He's so close' her heart throbbed in her chest, the look in his eyes seemed to burn her face, she didn't need a mirror to tell her how flushed her cheeks were at the moment.

She could feel it, 'huh?' she breathed, once again, she could swear she saw some kind of spark in his eyes. Like it twinkled.

"Aren't we going to go inside?" his voice was almost a whisper. A husky, sexy, alluring whisper. The kind that she only had dreams of. 'Handsome men are lethal' Was what Roxy had told her, and now she brought those words back into her head... 'This man is Lethal'

With those words, she fumbles with the door handle behind her, trying to turn it open, so she could escape this unnecessary closeness. "Le_Lets go in." She blurts out, and as soon as she hears the door click behind her, she fumbles with the seatbelt, unclasps it and bolts out of the car. Staggering away from the Devil in human form.

"She's something... She's something really sweet." He laughs as he also steps out of the car, walking behind her like he was slowly stalking her, making her walk while looking over her shoulders full of tension.

"RUMP Steak with COLESLAW Salad on the side for table 12."

"Two Chicken gyros for table 8."

"Wrapped in Pita or naked?"

"Wrapped in Pita."

"One butterscotch shake, One strawberry shake, and One Chocolate shake for the lovely ladies in table 5."

It was not a really big restaurant, just the size of three standard rooms put together, but it was packed from side to side.

"Well, look who decided to show up and say hi to this old mama after three whole months!!"

"Hey mama Mae," Erina says with a huge childish smile the instant she sees the woman.

The plus-sized beautiful dark-skinned woman with lovely curly grey hair walked out from behind the counter and instantly wraps the girl up in a big, tight hug.

"Heehee...Haha hah Mama Mae, you're crushing me." She giggles as the lady held her even tighter.

"Well I only get to see you once in a while, so let me crush you this much... Honey... Come out of the kitchen and see who decided to grace us with her beautiful presence." She calls out to her husband Mr. John Johnson.

"OHHHHH... She looking fine as always. My little strawberry whipped cream. Come over here and give this old man a hug."

"Papa Jay... You're looking finer than the last time I saw you." She ran into the man's open arms smiling and chuckling like a little girl.

"Did you come alone? Where's that crazy daughter of ours?"

"Oh no, I didn't come with Roxy."

"So you just came here to see us? That sounds rather suspi..." the woman broke off as at that moment, the bell at the edge of the door rang, and their heads turned as he strode in, fine and polished, posed and perfect, and all eyes popped, every jaw dropped, chips fell out of the open mouths of customers, drinks dripping down their dumbstruck lips.

'Gosh, this never gets old.' he smirks, as he walked towards her, not minding the extreme attention he was pulling.

"OH my Gosh... Who is this young fine hunk." Mama Mae instantly compliments.

"Good evening ma'am... Sir," he greets as he stands next to Erina, causing their attention to shift to her, waiting for an explanation.

"M_My Boss." She simply says.

"I thought you said your boss was an old cranky lady."

"Well, that was my manager, but this here is the Boss of my manager. He's the Boss of my Boss, he owns the whole thing." She quickly explains to the old man.

"Mae honey, Boss's ain't supposed to look this good are they?"

"They sure as hell ain't supposed to be so damn fine, Jay... You're a delicious piece o' pie ain't yah," Mama Mae compliments again, mischievously eyeing and nudging Erina by the shoulder.

"OH, you're too kind ma'am." He smiles in return.

"woo-hoo, would yah look at that smile, perfect Jaws, perfect teeth, oh Lords! you've broken a lot of hearts haven't yah."

"Well..., I can't say I haven't. But I'm sure Erina here has broken a lot more."

"Oh, I wish. This little thing doesn't know how pretty she is unless yah tell her. Instead of breaking hearts, she always ends up with a bro..."

"Mama Mae..." Erina quickly interrupts. "um... He's here for food."

"You came all the way from the main city just to eat?"

"Well, This young lady here tells me that this place is a hundred times better than a five-star Grandeur restaurant,"

"Well, that might be an overstatement." the woman blushed, and her husband rolled his eyes at the sight of his wife falling for the handsome boss.

"OH, Mae, get ahold of yourself... You're embarrassing me... Please don't mind her," Papa Jay says. "Johnny, find a nice table for this... this... this Perfect Creature" He just couldn't think of anything else to classify the man.

"And, Erina darling, could you come with us for a second, while we think of the best dish for your... 'BOSS'." Mama Mae made sure to highlight the word Boss as she drags her away, with a look of mischief written all over her face.
