If he failed to make a set of rank 5 materials here it would mean the number of rank fours needed would jump to 729 sets for one set of rank 5. That was not something he could deal with. That would be incredibly expensive even for him to handle. The simple thought was enough to keep Yang Rai focused and strong for the remaining portion.
It all came down to the final swirl and condensation of the material itself. The unstable and massive amount of energy would be released and collected by the world if he failed. No, he needed to succeed in this endeavor. Otherwise he would have to drastically increase the number of rank 4 trees to compensate for such failure. Yang Rai began fusing the countless mountains of resources into his glyphs. Building them up quickly. Since a single set of rank 3 can make 9 rank 2s and by extension 81 sets of rank 1. He didn't touch the rank 4 materials since they were incomparably precious at the moment. With Yang Rais stores of resources he managed to finish upgrading most of them to T7 R1 glyphs. He now only needed a little over 500k sets of materials. But since he burned out all of his resources to get this far within the 3 years he spent inside the artifact now. He had plenty of rank 4s to fuse. He began the fusion process once again to determine the amount of energy used. This time he managed it with less focus and consumed more energy than he thought. He was still using 10% of his total energy generation to create a set.
Yang Rai seeing this decided that he would just keep going until the other resources stocked up again. He had trained the spirits to be able to mobilize the energy he had created into the trees. This allowed him the ability to generate the energy and fuse at the same time while the trees produced their maximum yield daily. Over another several months Yang Rai had finished fusing the first Rank 5 tree. And it began to produce an immense drain on the small sealed world bead. A rate that Yang Rai and the spirits knew would cause immense damage to the world. He ended up giving the tree 59,049 of his T7 R1 glyphs before it calmed down.
