Lucianna watched the pirates that were drinking rum after rum, drying their beer mugs as she does so. They've been in her tavern for nearly an hour and almost all of them are intoxicated (not a surprise there, considering she gave them the drink that could make a young fledging drunk after a couple of drinks), the only ones that weren't seem affected at all are the Captain and Vice-Captain, though there are a few others she didn't bother with their names.
After a couple more minutes of looking at them, the bar maiden looked away and focused on her task, unaware that she was being eyed by the Superiors of the pirates that having fun in her bar.
"Can you give us another rum, lassie?" Edward asked, this made her look up and nods in agreement before grabbing his mug and going to fill it up with booze, doing the same with Marco.
"I swear, you are slowly killing yourself, Captain," Marco remarked as he nod in gratitude once he had his drink.
"Hahahahaha! I'm a giant! Dragonian Booze won't kill me!" The Captain laughed and this made his Vice-Captain sigh in defeat.
"You mentioned you waiting for someone." Lucianna suddenly said, making the two of them look at her. "May I know who is it?"
"Ah, right…" the two blond-haired males nodded at her remarked. "We actually have no idea."
"....What?" Luci asked, baffled at their answer. "How can you not know who that person is if you have no idea who they are?"
"It is what we were told but don't worry too much, we'll know once we saw them." Edward waved his hand and this made the young girl to pursed her lips.
"Then I suggest you watch your actions," she stated rather loudly, gaining the attention of those who were sober. "You're an uninvited guest in this town, the Dragons and Humans that are living here, don't take kindly to people who are suspicious."
Her statement made Marco glance through the window and realize that the bar maiden is actually correct, he could see the town. Both of them merely nodded in agreement, before they continued drinking when suddenly one of the pirates stood up and began to sing.
"'There once was a ship that put to sea
The name of the ship was the Billy O' Tea
The winds blew up, her bow dipped down,
Oh blow, my bully boys, blow (huh)"
Luci blinked at the song, especially when the others pirates began to join while the Vice Captain created the beat. A smile slowly appeared on her face when the drunken pirates began to dance, joining the song despite how out of tune they are.
"Soon may the Wellerman Come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguing is one
We'll take our leave and go!"
The bar maiden swayed to the beat before stopping and chuckling in amusement when a couple of pirates had booze poured on them when they stumbled with each other. "'You're all energetic."
"Hahaha! We are." Edward agreed, before narrowing his eyes. "Which is why I would like you to accept my sincere apology for what my crew member earlier."
"... Didn't your Vice-Captain already apologize for that?" She asked, a bit reluctantly.
"You are correct, however, that was my First-Mate taking responsibility. As a Captain, I should do it as well.'" Lucianna nearly smiled, before deciding to just nod at his statement.
"Apology accepted then." She saw Edward smile before their attention went back to the singing pirates. When the song stop and the pirates cheered, Marco handed over his mug to Luci, who accepted it without any question and then filled it up once more with rum, humming the song quietly. Once done, she gave it back to him and asked. "I never heard that song before… it's quiet… catchy…'"
"Hmmm…'" The First Mate hummed, drinking his mug before stopping, and then removed his mouth from the rim, sighing happily.
"That song is something that is only known by the people and demons who sailed the sea for centuries.'"
"Oh?'" She asked curiously, while Edward hummed, and before anything could be said, a pirate member stumbled onto her bar and raised his mug. Luci raised an eyebrow before grabbing the mug and went to fill it when suddenly the drunk pirate spoke.
"There are actually legends that surround that song *hic*." The Human girl turned to look at the pirate, his newly filled drink in hand.
"What kind of Legends?" She asked, putting the mug on the table. The Pirate ignored her as he drank his rum rather happily, which made her turn to the Captain and his first mate, and saw that the two of them were smirking at her in amusement.
"There's plenty of them, but the most popular one is where it's related to the last phoenixes."
"Oh?" Luci perked up, not noticing the slight tightness that appeared in Marco's eyes as his captain spoke.
"According to legends, that song was something that Marcelino sang out for his mate and children, it was foretold that should he sing it out, then he would find his family and be reunited again, and once the king found his queen, all phoenixes will be reborn and join us again."
"Aren't phoenixes reborn already? We just don't know who," Luci asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Reincarnated lassie… if it was reborn then Marcelno would have found his mate already, and the world would have the phoenixes once more."
"I see…." the midnight-haired girl hummed in thought, and it was quiet for a while before Marco spoke.
"There's also a legend that the song will lead to the original land of the Phoenixes where any sickness will be healed once there."
"Is that even possible?'" She asked, looking at the First Mate, who smirked in amusement, with awe and a hint of hope(?).
"Of course… but aside from the song, you'll be needing something else."
"....Any sickness you say?" Lucianna muttered quietly. "What else is needed?'"
Her question made them raise an eyebrow.
"Why? Are you planning to search for it?'" Marco smirked in amusement. "You need to be a pirate, lady before you can search for it.'"
"...." Luffy was quiet for a few moments before shaking her head and then smiling at them, though both Captain and Vice-Captain noticed how forceful it was. "Don't mind me, it's nothing… merely a curiosity."
"...Well..." The Hybrid Giant stated, swirling his mug and eyeing the rum inside it. "Nobody knows what else is needed. It's just a legend after all, most of it is forgotten in time."
"Is that so..." Luci hummed, smiling sadly as wipe mindlessly wiped down the counter. "It would have been wonderful if Legends are true."
Unknown to her, she muttered loud enough for the two pirates to hear her and this made them wonder the reason why and glance at her with slight concern.
