The whole day passed in a blink of an eye and soon enough the pirates were leaving the tavern, Lucianna was cleaning the messes that were left behind, while Olivia was guarding the door. When the last table was clean the young maiden went outside with the female and looked in the direction of the forest where they could see Laxus, Ashish, and Ashes, heading toward them.
"Mama!" The twins shouted, running towards their mother, who giggled and ignored the fuming Oliva that was glaring at her father, who merely smirk rather smugly. Once the boys were at arm's length away from their mother, they jumped and then snuggled closer to her warmth, happy that after a day away from her, she was safe and uninjured. Not like anyone can immediately hurt the people living here, dragons are known for their protectiveness, especially towards friends and family, doesn't matter what their kind is and that is something that the twins are grateful for, for they know that if their Grandfather had a mission then they will still be safe from the outsiders.
"Laxus! You bastard!" Olivia shouted, ignoring the children that were hugging their mother for dear life, immediately turned to her, their attention caught by her loud voice. "How dare you train the brats before me??"
"What on earth are you talking about?" Laxus asked, stopping in front of the Lieutenant, carrying something over his shoulder while his daughter sighed and stood up and looked at the quarreling dragons, same goes for the other passerby, who was watching them in slight amusement. "I would never train them when you asked for first dibs?"
Olivia growled at that statement before whipping her head towards the twins, who flinched and huddle behind their mom's skirt, and merely giggled, especially when the white-haired woman leaned close to them and sniffs them. Lucianna glanced at them before looking at her father who was sweating rather heavily, his hold on the prey, which she was pretty sure was caught just very recently, is slowly slipping. After a couple of sniffs, Olivia moved away from the boys and went back to glaring at Laxus, who glanced at her before looking away.
"You bastard… your training them!!" She shouted and immediately run towards the Red-haired male, who throws the meat at his daughter. Said daughter manage to catch it, despite her petite body, and chuckled as her father leads the knight away, heading towards the sea and then shifting to his dragon form mid-flight. "I'm also a dragon, Laxus!!"
And then there were two dragons chasing each other in the sky. The children snickered while the townspeople shook their heads in defeat and amusement. Lucianna watched them for a few minutes before moving and heading back inside the tavern, her kids following after her like two little ducklings.
"Mama, Mama, Mama!" Asher called out, Luci, who was putting the meat, which seems to be a boar, on top of a table, turned to look at him in slight confusion. "Why are Aunt Olivia and Grandpa fighting about whose training me and Ashish?"
"Hmmm…" Luci made a humming sound, looking up at the ceiling as she tap her chin, before looking down at her kids. "Teacher Olivia told me that it was a dragon thing."
"Ohh…" Both twins slump down and this made their mother chuckle as she wash her hands before drying them with the apron tied around her waist, and then kneeled down to the kids' eye level.
"You didn't let me finish." She stated, flicking their forehead and this made them flinch in pain.
"Mama!" Asher whined as his brother whimpered, Luci chuckled before looking at her boys gently and then added.
"But, I think that the reason those two are fighting on training you is that they want someone to inherit their skills."
"Inherit…"
"Their skills?"
"Yep." Lucianna nodded before standing up and going to grab the boar, while the boys went ahead and open the door for their mother. "They are both knights and thus they both own a sword, however, how they used the swords is different and unique in its own way."
"And they want us to learn those skills?" Ashish asked and this made her nod as she put the boar on top of their kitchen counter, and grabs a butcher knife, while the boys sat down at the table behind her.
"Yes, I believe that it's their instinct that's insisting them to actually pass it down to the next generation of their family, of course, whoever inherits their skill will also have a skill of their own." She then coldly began to clean and cut that night's meal.
"But that's not the reason why they're fighting, because if it was like that this wouldn't happen." The blond-haired twin mumbled while the black-haired boy eyed the knife their mother was using.
"Dragons thought that the first skill learned and taught is the primary skill, anything else comes after."
"That's dumb," Asher mumbled, and this made her laugh.
"I know but that's how dragons are… or I was told so, after all, that sentence I just said came from your Granpa." The boys made o-mouth, before pausing and looking at the back of their mother dumbfounded.
"...You were trained by Granpa right?" Asher asked and Lucianna nodded.
"I was, and then Teacher Olivia taught me after, so I have two of their skills." Her children blinked.
"But we never saw you use a sword!" Asher protested and Luci laughed so hard, tears escaped her eyes.
"I'm staying at the tavern whole days, my sweethearts." She said, washing the blood from her hands. "I also decided to create a skill of my own…" She glances out through the window of the kitchen, where she can see two small figures of her father and Olivia still chasing one another. "They always quarrel about which skill I should use when I was a kid, that it bothers me too much."
"They're both childish," Ashish mumbled, Lucianna nodded in agreement as she began to clean up the mess that she created. "Why is Aunt Olivia teaching us anyway? We're not her family."
Lucianna paused at her son's statement and slowly turned then looked at him dumbfounded. Seeing how the boys are looking at her calmly, and not Asher looking at his brother in shock for stating something wrong, Lucianna knew that the boys knew nothing at all.
"Boys… your Grandpa and Teacher Olivia… are courting."
"...WHAT?!"
