"Come off it queen can't you see she's a stain and would get your stuff contaminated"! Another added scornfully as soon as Mrs Maurice left
"She looks so much like my dog molly" a guy voice echoed loudly in disdain, tears tickled down my cheeks and I just couldn't bear it so I dashed out of the class in tears and ran to a corner where I found safe and squatted there in tears and at that moment it dawned on me that I don't really belong here. I was still in tears when I saw a hand pass me a handkerchief so I looked up and saw a guy looking at me with concern and pity in his eyes. Though he's handsome but who in the world cares about his handsomeness, I collected the kerchief and wiped my face with it
"I'm christian by name but popularly known as Chris" he said to me and smiled
"Gabriella" I said getting on my feet
"Nice name you've got there" he said with a smile which I didn't bother returning
"Thanks"! I replied looking elsewhere
"Uhm... About what just happened in class a while ago I plead on their behalf and anyways the students in Ray Lake are just like that and a bit of selfish too, they all care about themselves more than anyone else but if you get to ignore them you won't really have much of a problem" he explained to me
"Really"!,"Are they always rude and annoying"? I asked with kin interest
"Off course but learning to stand on your own without acting weak in their presence makes them jealous but you fearless" he said and I understood what he meant and nodded
"Anyways I bet you're really intelligent to have made such a ranking scholarship" he complimented
"Off course not but I just have to put in a lot of effort to get in here cause it's always been my dream" I said with a smile
"Wow! I have never sat for any scholarship exam before" he said and I looked at him not really surprised, moreover he's from a wealthy home, I was about to say something when someone walked up to us
"What's up Chris"? He asked
"Am cool man"he said and they both smiled at each other
"Isn't she the scholarship girl from the news"? He asked
"Off course she is" Chris replied
"Hey! Ehh... am Gabriel but you can call me Gabe" he said and stretched out his hand for a shake
"Gabriella Martins" I replied and took the shake and he smiled broadly at me
"What a lovely name, can't even imagine we almost share the same name" he said turning to Chris who just chuckled
"I should get back to the class"I said and made to leave but Gabe grabbed my wrist
"What was that for" I said feeling disgusted by his touch
"I'm sorry I just wanted to say goodbye" he said smiling and I rolled my eyes at him
"Alright bye"I said and left as fast as I could
"Chris isn't she beautiful"? Gabriel asked
"Off course she is but unfortunately she was bullied today" Chris said scratching his head
"What?! I asked you not to let anyone bully her and besides today is her first day here"! Gabe said almost shouting
"C'mon man I couldn't do anything cause she got here before me and before I showed up she was already bullied and was running out of the class,so I followed her up instead" Chris defended himself
"Gush am gonna make sure she doesn't get bullied again and please help me out when am not there I don't wanna see her hurt; you know I've been into her since she won the scholarship and I just can't help seeing her hurt" Gabe said and sighed. Gabriel Morris is the only son and heir to Ray lake high school, his grand father has willed the school into his name when he was only four years, he's family is the richest and most feared in New York City, but instead of being a proud rich brat, he was calm and relentless, he has an older sister by the name Marina Morris, the heir to Ray's restaurant, one of the best in New York but Marina isn't one to mess with, she's intolerable and cruel especially when it has to do with her brother Gabriel.
"C'mon Gabe I'm gonna try my best" Chris said tapping he's back. Chris and Gabriel has been friends since childhood and Chris knows how well Gabe behaves when he likes someone
"Thanks buddy" He said looking into an empty space as if lost in thought
*Gabby's pov*
I got home that day after the awful experience with the boys and the crazy taunting from the girls in class, which I narrated to my parents after dinner though they both weren't happy that I was picked up on at school but my mom won't let go off the two strange guys I met,she wanted to know their status, what they looked like and so on. When her pestering became much and I couldn't bear it anymore, I went to bed. I woke up the next day and like the previous day prepared for school,had pastries for breakfast and left for school on my bike, just when I got to school and made to go into the class I got pushed by numerous students who were rushing and screaming "The bees is here". I was confused at first and didn't bother going to the scene but was pulled by a girl to the scene where I saw a beautiful but mean looking girl stepping out of a car which was opened by a man whom I guess could be her bodyguard and with a pack of juice in her hand she walked through the crowd with two other classy rich girls behind her, though she walked majestically but every step she took revealed rudeness, she walked up to me and without a remorse in her voice she asked the girl who dragged me earlier whom I was
"Who's she"? She asked looking at me from head to toe in disdain, the girl looked at me worriedly
"Sh... she's ehh.... the scholarship girl" she stuttered
"I see and what's your name"?she asked in a nice tone that I almost thought I was wrong about her personality
"Gabriella"! I replied with a faint smile on my face
"Anyways Gabriella you're welcome and yes least I forget I brought you a gift" she said and emptied the pack of juice on me which made my hair and some parts of my uniform soaked, I was shocked by her behavior and how I was treated cause for a moment there I admired her beauty and soft tone
"Hope you like it"? She asked with a scornful smile on her face and the rest of the students laughed except for the girl who told her whom I was
"I bet she did Marina"one of the girls who walked in with her said rolling her eyes at me
"Look at her,she probably like it and might need some more"the other said and emptied her own pack on me which made me gasp in shock but my mates laughed even more and with tears in my eyes I wished the ground could split in two and have me swallowed
"Let's go babes" The first girl who poured the juice on me said and started walking out and the two girls followed behind leaving me in a mockery and confused state not knowing what to do I ran into the rest room in tears and shut the door, a while later I heard a knock which made me quickly wipe my tears grabbed my back pack which I left on the floor earlier, opened the door and walked out, but was pulled back by someone I turned and realized it was the girl who dragged me to the scene earlier
"What do you want"? I asked in a shaky voice
"I... I'm sorry! I really had no idea that dragging you to the scene would cause you pain, besides it wasn't intentional, I was just excited about the bees arrival that I pulled you to the scene but I didn't expect Marina to humiliate you in that manner" she said in a concerned tone
"Oh really? Where you expecting her to humiliate me in another way"? I asked frowning in annoyance
"Off course not, I just wanted to be friends with you and thought pulling you to the scene would give me a better chance to talk to you but unfortunately it didn't but I can't help feeling guilty of you being humiliated" she defended herself
"But why?.. why does it have to be me? What did I do wrong"? "I don't even know her before" I said with tears rolling down my cheeks
"I don't know why she would do that but she's a very potential person and very rude,saucy and too full of herself so even if you have reported to the school management they would do nothing about it, you know why"? she asked and continued "her family owns this school themselves and her younger brother is the apparent heir to the school, which makes her get away with everything she does" She said and sighed sadly
"I see; thanks for the info" I said and left immediately before she could say another word
*Marina's pov*
"Oh my gosh I got disgusted by her presence, she's such a loser"she said to no one in particular
"That's because she's disgusting marina and you know why? cause she comes from the swamp and doesn't belong here, she doesn't belong here at all" Mercy one of the girls with Marina earlier said
"Imy still wondering why my mom has to declare her the winner despite her status knowing fully well she doesn't belongs here, I mean this prestige high school is for the the high class family, where does she belong"? Marina asked shrugging
"Well she seems intelligent and beautiful too" Erica one of the girls said
"What?! You think she's pretty"? Marina asked in an astonished tone
"I don't think so cause she is and by the way she shouldn't be your problem cause you have all the wealth in the world and as the heiress to Ray's Restaurant you have what it takes to put her in her place without being questioned, besides you should be thinking on how to confess to Jason about how you actually feel about him" Erica said and blew her gum
"If she's beautiful then she's a problem to me cause no one should be more beautiful than I am in Ray lake high school cause am a heiress and I've got the wealth which no one has and I promise to put her in her place with any slight chance I get and as for Jason" she said smiling as she continued "he's gonna be mine soon, all mine" Marina said with a smile folding her hands across her breast
"Off course you should cause no one should take your place as the cutest girl in Ray lake" Mercy said holding marina by her shoulder while Erica blew her gum loudly

"I don't just get it;why would your sister treat her in such a way without no reason"? Chris asked sounding annoyed
"I don't know maybe their there was a misunderstanding which led her into a mess with my sister"Gabe said scratching his head
"Ohh come off it Gabe, you know your sister so we'll" Chris said and paused for a while but Gabe said nothing "aren't you gonna do anything about it"? Chris asked him
"I don't know; what I'm I supposed to do" Gabe said in a less concerned tone
"C'mon Gabe! your sister Marina got Gabby humiliated and you're just gonna sit there and do nothing"? Chris asked raising his voice
"Marina might be rude and saucy but I don't think she would hurt a new bee for no reason"Gabe said in a low tone
"you wouldn't be sure if you don't get yourself to ask Marina"! Chris said almost yelling
"Come on Chris it's not like I'm not worried about Gabriella; it's just that confronting my sister wouldn't be a good idea"! Gabe said in a concerned tone
"what do you mean not a good idea aren't we talking about Gabriella's welfare here"? Chris asked
"of course Chris"! Gabe replied
"Then what do you mean by it's gonna be a bad idea to confront your sister"? Chris asked
"Come to think of it Chris my sister already picked a fight with Gabby and confronting her would be creating more problem for Gabby and I'm sure you know how bad tempered Marina is"? Gabe said in calm tone
"I think I get it now so what if I do it in your place"? Chris asked
"That's what I'm talking about man"! Gabe said him
"I will ask her tomorrow after class" Chris said and Gabe thanked him
"that would be great"!! Gabe said excitedly

"what happened to you Gabriella"? My mom asked as soon as I got home which got me frightened cause I wasn't expecting her to be at home but to be in her coffee shop
"Nothing mom" I lied and started walking to my room
"Have you gone nuts ain't I talking to you"? Mom voice echoed angrily
"you have to believe me mom; nothing happened to me I'm absolutely fine see" I said and showed her some parts of my body
"What then happened to your uniform"? she asked and walked closer to me
"Ohh!!, This?! I had juice spilled on me by mistake when I went to the snack-bar earlier today" I lied again
"Thank goodness! For a second there, I thought you got into a fight with someone" She said holding my cheeks
"Of course not mom,I wouldn't do such a thing you know"? I said faking a smile and she smiled which gave me an assurance she believed what I told her "mom do you mind if go to my room now? I would like to get some rest cause I'm tired from school work" I said and faked a yawn
"Ok dear I will be on my way out I actually came to get something important I forgot at home so I will be returning to the shop" She said and left while I walked to my room and got the door shut in anger
I tried to do so many things to help me stop thinking about what happened in school today but I couldn't get my mind off it, I grabbed my uniform and took it to my dad's laundry shop and left but not after explaining what happened to it. I was walking down the street in thought with an earphone in my ear, but was Jolted back when a car almost knocked me down.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to do that" The person driving whom I guess should be the owner of the car pleaded as soon as he stepped out of the car and I nodded and made to leave but was held back by the stranger
"Uhm! sorry but aren't you the new scholarship girl of Ray lake high school"? He asked and I nodded in affirmation
"Whoa! I attend Ray lake as well and I've been longing to meet with you in person" he said and smiled broadly "I'm Jason by name and I would love to be a friend if you don't mind" he said stupidly
"I'm Gabriella and I'm sorry to turn you down but I don't do friends so if you would excuse me; I had somewhere I was heading to before you almost knocked me down" I said and started walking away
"I just want to be a friend that's all so please try to reconsider"I heard him shouting towards me but I ignored him and went my way
The next day I went to school as usual expecting the worst that hasn't happened since I got the scholarship to happen. I was alone in the class after lesson when the girl who pulled me to my previous humiliation came to me with a pack of juice in her hands with a smile on her face
