Chapter 13 - 13

"Then I'll just die and become a ghost!" Pegasus grinned, making Hugo roll his eyes. "Come on, man. I don't want my parents to worry," he continued after a few seconds.

Hugo hesitated. He was afraid. He was terrified of the consequences if the news reached his parents. But at the same time, he also didn't want to leave the boy alone in his condition. Especially since he could see the fear in the older boy's dark eyes.

Hugo opened his mouth to talk again, trying to think of another plan to convince the boy not to go out there alone, but then he froze. Suddenly he turned his gaze toward the door, which had suddenly opened.

An unfamiliar man stepped out, walking toward them. He stopped short as soon as he spotted the boy. His eyes widened in shock. Then he raised his head to glance at them. "What are you doing here?!" he shouted, pointing at Pegasus.

The boy blinked in surprise, then narrowed his eyes angrily. "Didn't you hear me?" he yelled back at him, sounding furious. "I am here to save Hugo and to take him back home. Can't you understand?"

The man shook his head and frowned. "I'm sorry but," he began slowly, glancing nervously between the two teenagers, "but that isn't possible!"

Hugo blinked in surprise. Was he being serious? Was this guy really blind? Or was he really stupid? There was nothing to stop them from leaving.

"Listen buddy, I'm sure you can't see it," he said quickly. "But you are in our way! We need to go. Now." He took a couple of steps towards the man. "So please move."

The man swallowed and slowly started backing away, raising his hands as he did so, looking scared. "Please don't harm me!" he begged, taking another step backwards. "I beg of you. Please don't do this."

"Why not? You want us to stay here and die?" the boy snapped, glaring at him. "Don't be an idiot. If you don't move, we'll just kill you anyways. Isn't that right, Hugo?"

Hugo's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't thought of that. Sure, killing people wasn't exactly what he wanted to do when he found Pegasus, but it certainly wouldn't be the worst thing either.

He glanced at Pegasus, who stared down at him expectantly, looking slightly anxious. Hesitantly, he took a step towards the man, holding out his hand as an invitation. "Give me your phone," he commanded. He waited until the man complied, then quickly typed in the numbers as the latter watched them warily. He pressed send when he finished, watching as the screen flashed with a new message notification. 'Sent,' he read, smiling grimly.

"What's your name?" he asked softly once he was done. He didn't even bother listening to the answer, instead focusing on trying to figure out what to say next.

The man hesitated for a moment, looking torn between complying and refusing. Eventually, however, he relented, nodding. "Achilles," he replied quietly, glancing anxiously at Pegasus.

Pegasus frowned as he stared at the man. "Are you certain about that?" he asked slowly, tilting his head to the side in confusion.

Achilles frowned at the question, clearly confused by it himself. "
