Chapter 29 - The Nyxphalt

Ignis found himself in a dark, cavernous space, the walls of which were studded with glowing crystals in various shades of blue. The light cast by these crystals was the only illumination in the cavern, and it danced and flickered on the rough stone surfaces around him. As he stood there, Ignis realised that he was alone, and he couldn't help but wonder if he had been transported to a different location than the others.

He remembered the old man, his face twisted into confusion and anger as he recalled what had happened before. He hadn't even had a chance to select his class before being pulled into the teleportation portal and thrust into this world alone, with no knowledge of the conditions of the others.

Ignis had barely taken a step when a flurry of notifications overwhelmed him. His eyes scanned the messages one after the other. His anger for the old man's action went to the back of his head as he read all the notifications.

As he read through the part about gaining a 5% discount on purchases throughout the world of Nyxphalt, his mouth dropped open in surprise.

Ignis felt a sudden rush of information flooding his mind, including the concept of fame and its potential benefits.

"Wait a moment," he suddenly remembered, and he quickly checked his notification bar. He frowned at the information displayed there. "Didn't that old man say there were only four servers? Why am I on the fifth server?" He became sceptical, his mind racing with possibilities.

"The fuck! I have a really bad feeling about this," he muttered under his breath, his expression darkening with concern, but he couldn't keep the expression for long.

Ignis gazed down at his missing left arm and couldn't help but feel a sense of bitterness.

However, he soon realised that his current feeling of weakness wasn't just due to the loss of his limb. It was something entirely different, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. To find out what was going on, he opened up his system interface.

====================

As Ignis opened his system interface, he gasped in disbelief as he saw that his level had plummeted back down to 1. He suddenly realized why he had felt so weak before. "So this is why I feel as weak as a newborn kitten! And the curse's information is still a mystery," he muttered to himself, his expression betraying a mix of confusion and frustration.

Ignis let out a deep sigh and shook his head. "Well, there's nothing I can do about it right now. I'll deal with this curse and that problem, old geezer, later." He then turned his attention to the system interface, scrolling through it with a look of intense concentration.

As he examined the system interface, Ignis examined the things that had been removed from the old system. His level had been deducted; his title, skills, and equipment were gone, and he was left with nothing but a ragged pant and a bare upper body. Even his system points, which had been over twenty thousand, were now accurately reduced to only ten thousand.

As Ignis dove deeper into the system interface, he then looked for changes in his interface. He couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as he read through the list.

First on the list was his race, which showed him as a primordial human. He had never heard of such a race before not even in his previous life, but he couldn't deny that he was intrigued.

Next, he came across his rank, main class, ancient class and endurance. He was most excited about this and couldn't believe his luck, but he tried to remain composed and focused on exploring the rest of his new system.

As he scrolled down, he noticed new additions to his status page: legacy, fame, and physical and magical damage. He knew that these would have probably been added later if he had stayed on the normal floors of the tower.

Then he finally came across the section on techniques and abilities. He noticed that the techniques section was empty, but his excitement returned as he saw that the abilities section had two separate categories: one for his main class and one for his ancient class.

His eyes lit up as he clicked on the tab, eager to discover what secrets it held. And there it was: the ancient class that had been bestowed upon him by the old man. Ignis's heart skipped a beat as he read the description, feeling like he had just unlocked a hidden treasure trove.

"Okay, so it opened the whole ancient class section." Ignis looked at the ancient class section, his mind raced with excitement and curiosity. "Okie, dookie, so I got these abilities randomly, and they're under the ancient class category, and I can still select a main class," he mumbled to himself. He remembered how he was abruptly dragged into the teleportation portal without being able to select the ancient class.

"Life Drain." The ability's name alone sounded cool to him, but what made him even happier was its effect: continuous healing for himself and damage to his enemies.

"Corruption." Its name sounded intriguing too, but when he tried to tap on it to learn more about its mechanics, nothing happened. He let out a sigh, realising he would have to figure it out on his own. "Looks like I'll have to experiment with it to understand how it works," he muttered to himself, eager to uncover the full potential of his newfound abilities.

As he finished looking through his new system interface, he looked at his surroundings. The dimly lit cave was illuminated by crystals embedded in the walls, providing the only source of light. Ignis squinted in the darkness, trying to gauge the height of the cave but couldn't make out anything beyond the light's reach. He turned his attention to his surroundings and noticed only one path leading forward.

Ignis let out a small laugh as he stretched his body and tried to stretch his left arm, only to realize it was no longer there. "It'll take some time to get used to this," he thought to himself, still chuckling at his own forgetfulness. Looking around at the dimly-lit cave, he muttered, "It looks like this hidden dungeon will be one heck of a ride."
