New morning, new hope.
The new bright light coming through those silky golden curtains fall on Winter's face, making her facial features more captivating than before. As the light affects her deep slumber, she wrinkles her eyes in the process to open them. Separating her from her comfort zone, she dresses herself up with her red and blue coloured jumper, blue mask and her sword. Looking at the same frame she slept holding last night, once again she leaves for the courtroom.
On reaching the courtroom, my eyes wander around as I spot a few unrecognised faces, either not a part of their kingdom or their confidential spies. Finding myself in front of my father aka his majesty, I bow, giving him the respect I think he never deserved. Well, my father, King Raven Mortel, a highly respected person in the society, not only because of his position but also because of his etiquettes. He has had a total of two wives till now, from the first queen, my step-mother he had a son and from the second queen, my biological mother he had his daughter aka me, Winter.
He was accompanied by his second wife, my Mother, Queen Aurella Mortel. She at her young age had been marked as the most divine lady in the society, because of her looks and her acumen. I had never favoured my mother, I think my mother has always been a materialistic, judgemental and possessive lady. And her looks never impressed me in any way. About the Queen's intelligence, I would say it was more of a cunning nature, she inherited from her father.
"Good that you're here Winter. There are a few matters we need to discuss for the upcoming celebration of my 60th birthday, keeping in mind all the safety measures of our kingdom and its residents." My so-called father announced while upholding his sword, coated in gold and diamonds. He got down from his throne and moved towards their discussion cabin, where all the prime members of the court were already waiting for the King and me. As soon as they entered the door was closed, as it was supposed to be an unrevealed conversation between the King, me and all the delegates from the coordinating provinces of the Kingdom.
"Good Morning everyone ! Hope you know the reason for your presence and the meeting held here. My birthday is not only a celebration for my growing age but also a chance to get closer to the other kingdoms we are not familiar with. The main realm out of these is the Luchador Kingdom. We have had very few meets with King Albert Luchador and his sons Prince Aimer Luchador and Prince Lubert Luchador." He spoke with a smile on his face.
"King ! I have a suggestion, why not ask for Princess Winter's and Prince Aimer Luchador's wedding ? I heard that King Albert is now having thoughts about transferring his position to Prince Aimer Luchador. This would be a great profit for our Kingdom!" As soon as that stupid idiot completed his lines, he earned a glare from me.
"My wedding is not going to be a business. And YOU Mr. Kim, are a spokesperson of our court who is supposed to suggest ideas about the Kingdom's profit not a wedding planner. Don't you think you need to focus on YOUR job rather than fooling around, discussing others' personal lives ?" I spoke in my harsh and cold tone, making the person gulp in fear. My words and glares pierced the soul of Mr.Kim. Sensing the tension, King Raven tried to calm down the atmosphere. "WINTER! You're not supposed to speak like that to a person older than you. Did I teach you this ? And it was just a mere suggestion, why get so hyped up ?"
"Oh! So I am getting hyped up now huh ? I don't understand what huge profit or difference it will make by marrying me off to another Kingdom. Father, I'm sorry, but if this is what you wanted to discuss, then I might have to leave this meeting incomplete here." My voice was calm but utterly serious. I'm sure my eyes indicated how much rage I had held in for the moment, my balled up fists were a sign of that anger which was exploding within myself and my pressed lips were showing how much I was controlling myself from not letting out some harsh words, which may put a poor effect on my character.
"No dear ! Of course not, let's continue our main topic for my party. So, any other suggestions ?" The King asked before sighing in disappointment. "I expected better from respected people like you. But since no one is interested I would like to hand over the responsibilities of this party to you, Winter. Don't let me down my daughter. Hope this birthday will be the most memorable one." King Raven said in a pleading but fatherly tone, which made me agree to his words. Afterall he was my father, no matter how much I despised him, the fact that I couldn't have let him get embarrassed, made me fulfil my duties.
