It was the celebration day, when vivid kingdoms would be joining King Mortel's 60th birthday. The halls were with highly adorned, people from all over were busy having conversation which probably held nothing but business and profit. Soon the enormous doors of the ball room opened revealing King Raven Mortel with his wife Queen Aurella Mortel. Their outfits had a heavy embroidery and were perfect to make the others jealous of the wealth they possessed. Both of them reached at the table where King Luchador with his sons and wife were standing.
"A very happy birthday King Raven ! Wishing you a long and a happy life ahead." King Luchador spoke in a voice of enthusiasm.
"Thank you ! Thank you King Albert. Glad to have you here !" King Raven spoke while raising a glass of champagne.
"Well, meet my beloved wife and sons. Queen Veronica Luchador. My elder son, Prince Aimer Luchador and my younger, Prince Lubert Luchador." King Albert replied while introducing his wife sons.
Soon after his introduction the gates of the hall unbolted once more, and there entered the only daughter of the Kingdom, Winter. Her dress was quite simple unlike the others'. Also it was totally different than that of the theme. Being different is being unique. Her midnight green gown with her golden sword was captivating for each and every prince present there.
"There she comes ! Meet my only daughter Winter Luchador." King Raven introduced his daughter with a proud smile.
"Greetings." I replied in her usual unbothered but respected tone.
"Hello dear ! You've been quite famous as a Princess." Queen Veronica stated while eyeing me. I knew it, she was mocking me, whatever as if I care.
"Well, glad you've heard about me. But that's the last thing I'll ever be bothered about. I prefer staying low, than loud." My voice of sarcasm sealed Queen Veronica's mouth then and there. She deserved it anyways.
"I would like to bother my daughter for a second, if you don't mind." Queen Aurella asked before swiftly pulling me away from the crowd, to a corner.
"Why would you speak so ? And what's up with your dress. It was supposed to be a soft themed party. But look at your dress. I prefer you to go and change it." My so-called worried expressed her fake disapproval on my dress, I was aware of the fact that it was just to save their reputation.
"Dear Mother. Since when do you think I take your advice on my dressing sense ? And talking about 'soft', then this word was never in my dictionary. Pity that you don't even know this much about a girl you call your daughter and lived with, since the past twenty-three years of your life." I replied in a calm but in a despising tone, I hate to call her my mother as well.
"And now if you're done I would like to return to the conversation I left incomplete, due to your sudden concerns." I spoke before moving towards the table where her father was. I know Queen Aurella must be burning in rage for not accepting her suggestion.
"Sorry for the abrupt leave." I apologised while bowing.
"Oh no no ! That's totally fine. Hope you know my sons. Prince Aimer Luchador and Prince Lubert Luchador." King Albert spoke pointed at those two young male standing with a glass of champagne.
I glanced at them, when my eyes enlarged, recognizing the same guy I met this morning and called a jerk. My instincts pointed a very big trouble or in other words embarrassment I would fce today in this gathering. And guess what, the embarrassment appeared in the form of a living being, that too a Prince, should have been a bit more gentle with this guy today. Aimer in no time, after his intro stood in front of me, taking my hand he gently kissed the back of it, showing his respect towards me. I flinched slightly due to his sudden move, I thought he would make an issue out of the morning incident.
"Glad to meet a beauty !" He flirted with me openly. Seriously !
Somehow his stare made me blush. But didn't make me weak.
"Glad to meet you too." I replied while giving him my tight smile.
"We'll be back then." King Raven took a leave from their table and proceeded to greet others, while I moved towards the drink section. Picking up a non-alcoholic drink I proceeded towards the exit of the ballroom.
Escaping the crowd, which gave me nothing but a headache, I made my way towards the terrace, the only place of venting out my thoughts. The only place I don't hesitate to go without a mask. Standing on the edge, I viewed the whole city which looked nothing less than heaven, just with excessive lights. The whole kingdom was packed up with glitter.
"So ? All alone again ?" A voice, which was now quite recongisable entered the terrace.
"Being alone is the only way to attain peace. And the moon makes it easy too." I spoke without glancing at the person beside me. I was already aware, it was Aimer.
"Don't you feel lonely ?" His curiosity getting the best of him.
"That's the reason I look at the moon. Because I know, someone is looking at it the same way I'm. Just this thought is enough to provide me with a company." My thoughts might have indicated how much of a companion I needed, how many unspoken words were buried in that little heart of mine.
"Why would you come here leaving the party ?" He asked staring at me.
"I don't like to stay at crowded places." I replied while sipping on my drink.
"You don't like crowds because you don't like people or you don't like crowds because you don't like some particular people ?" His words left an effect on me. Those few words weighed more than those weights I lift everyday. Wow, he knows how to start conversations.
"W-what ?" I asked unsure of his words.
"Leave it. Well what's your favourite season ?" He asked while turning to me once again.
"I don't think I have one. Why ?" I replied in my unbothered tone. Why about seasons, out of nowhere ?
"Because mine's you." He expressed while leaning his shoulder on the edge.
"Wow- Well you got some flirting skills. But gotta improve. Anyways bye. I need to have a sleep now." I stated while being in a motion to leave. It made me mad, how this guy literally made me laugh.
"WAIT ! What's in the menu ?" He asked me before she left.
"It's definitely not me and you." I laughed off before leaving him astonished. He definitely needs to improve.
"Just that smile, hope it lasts forever." He sighed while looking at the moon.
