The priest recites as everyone sits in silence. A few people stand in the back. Cal being one of them as he is now the same age as Olive and has to go by Gabriel.Back at home after the service everyone retreats to there own respect each rooms to mourn in peace. Olive lies in bed with tears running down her face as she watches a video she took of Grace, Eden, Zeke, and Marlene. "Ooh what's for dinner?" I ask pointing the camera. "We are having Zeke's world famous lasagna and Graces 3 cheese sauce." Marlene says cutting the carrots. "Don't forget Mars's white chocolate and raspberry cheese cake." Zeke informs. "Wow babe is there any desert you can't make?" Olive asks making her chuckle. "Just Zeke's tiramisu." She sighs making Zeke lightly laugh. "You'll get there." Olive reassures her. "I feel like it's still off." Zeke says tasting Grace's sauce. "Did you add the parsley?" Mom asks coming in with Eden. "Damn it why do I always forget that?" He asks making everyone laugh as Eden starts crying again. "Oh my god I can't get her to stop crying I fed her, I burped her, I changed her diaper, I put her down for a nap." Mom sighs trying to calm her down. "Do you want me to try?" Mars asks with a smile, holding out her arms. "Please do." She asks passing over the 7 month infant. She looks at Eden's mouth before giving her a finger which she instantly starts chewing on. "Aha I got it." She says going over to the fridge. "She's teething." She explains making everyone look at her in disbelief. "How did you know that?" Mom asks. "Her gums looked kind of swollen. And kids usually start teething around Eden's age so I just gave her my finger and she started chewing." She explains giving Eden the teething ring. "What would we do without you?" I ask dreamily making her laugh. "Eat take out every night and get diabetes or get sick because of Ben and Michaela's cooking. You'd die either way." She says as everyone laughs. "Hey!" Ben and Michaela protest. "Face it, you guys are horrible cooks." I say making them sigh in defeat. "Seriously though, thank you." Mom says. "Your welcome." She replies before kissing me and going back to chopping the carrots. End of videoOlive chuckles, playing the next video"So today Marls is going to do her famous Harry Potter impressions." Cal says turning the camera towards Marlene. "Okay 3 2 1 go." Olive says trying not to laugh. "Ronald Weaselly! How dare you steal that car. I am absolutely disgusted. Your father is now facing an inquiry at work, and it's entirely your fault! If you put another toe out of line we'll bring you STRAIGHT HOME! Oh and Ginny dear congratulations on making Gryffindor. Your father and I are so proud." *Blows a raspberry.* The twins try not to laugh but have trouble holding it in. "You foul, loathesome. evil, little cockroach. Hermione NO! He's not worth it." Cal says. "Training for the ballet Pottah?" Olive says snottily. "Yes actually you Barbie 2.0, its called having a life Malfoy and not spending all our time prancing on front of the mirror admiring our bleached blonde hair that carries enough gel to supply the entire country." Marlene says seriously making them all laugh hysterically as the video ends.Olive grins as she picks up the scrapbook she made a few weeks back and flips through the pages as she looks at all the photos. There's Marls and Olive when they were 10 after winning the soccer championships, Cal making cookie with Uncle Tarik, The whole family crowded around Eden and Mom after Eden was born, Marlene looking annoyed as she tries to salvage the food because Dad tried to cook, Zeke teaching Michaela to cook and her failing miserably, Zeke and Michaela's wedding day, Olive and Marlene's 5 year anniversary, Dad and Mom's wedding day, and so on. There is a few pages blank in the middle from the pictures that we burned of Angelina. How could she do this to us? We saved her from her parents, we took her in, we fed her, clothed her, we gave her a home. She was our family and she betrayed us for what? Because she thinks Eden saved her during the earth quake? Eden was a baby and she was scared that doesn't make her a fucking savior or some guardian angel.I feel bad about what I said to Cal that day, but I was just so angry, I mean I found my mother's dead body and my sister and my girlfriend are missing and probably dead. It wasn't his fault though. I sniffle as I get up and walk to Cal's room. "Knock, knock." I say with a small smile as I sit on the bed with him. "I'm sorry about what I said to you the day that Mom died. It wasn't your fault, I just angry and I forget that you were mentally still a kid and that you woke up in a different body after being missing." I say wrapping my arms around his shoulders. He gives me a small smile and we both fall asleep together like old times.Flashback ends.Marlene's PovI help Eden set up her crayons and dolls when she looks up. "What is it Eden?" I ask when I notice her drawing of ash fluttering down. Another calling? She quickly gets out a piece of paper and starts drawing. Honestly how does she get these? Is it because of Ben? Does he have magical sperm type shit or something?
Olives PovI set out a tray of food while Cal takes a photo of his new scar that he developed from Henry Kim. "Sending that to Saanvi?" I ask. "You know that scar looks pretty badass kinda like a tough guy you know? It makes you look streetwise." I joke making him smile in exasperation. "It really doesn't." He claims. "Henry told me I was a dragon before this transferred to me." He says looking back down at it. "I think you'd make a cool dragon." I say. "Well I'm a guy who disappeared, and then came back 5 years older with no memory on where I was or why I was there. Doesn't sound to dragon-y to me." He deadpans. "Well maybe the scar is supposed to help you figure that out." I suggest. "Um I don't know just feels like I'm treasure hunting without a map." He explains. "So you saying... we're going on a treasure hunt, a very important treasure hunt, X marks the spot, circle with a dot, spiders crawling up your back, blood gushing down." I sing with Cal joining in the last 2 verses. He chuckles sadly, "I was teaching that to Eden before..." He trails off. "God I feel awful, that I told dad to let go. To accept that Eden and Marls were gone." I let out. "We both did." He reassures me. "When you were gone, no matter what anybody said, I always knew that you were still out there. I knew that you were still alive. With Eden and Marls I've never felt that, still don't." I admit sadly as Aunty Mick comes down. "Hey the attic needs more coffee stat." She says holding up the empty mugs. "No they need it drinkable so I got this." I say as Cal sighs and reaches for the cups. "So Uh how's it going up there?" I ask rinsing out the coffee jug. "Do you hear that thunder?" Aunt Mick asks. "Yeah how could I not?" Cal replies. "Oh maybe because I didn't." I say making the coffee. "What do you think it's about?" "Well I don't know but Saanvi's been on me to come to the Bird Nest something about the black box. Could that be it?" Cal asks. "Yeah it's worth checking out." "Ok." They say to each other. "Be back in a bit." He says grabbing the last piece of bacon. "No you rat!" Aunty Mick says annoyed. "No I'm a dragon." He says making me smirk as the doorbell rings. "No I've got it." Aunty Mick says going to answer the door.
