Chereads / My wild boss / Chapter 9 - Love

Chapter 9 - Love

Ever since that night I've ran away from work. I called in sick which I was really not and slumped in bed for days. There's no way I could've faced David after that night, there was to much to process.

"So your telling me that your boss confessed his love to you and now you want to quit?" Stacy asked, "there's no way I could face him after that," I cried buried in my blanket, "and why is that?" She asked. "What if i do something stupid, or what if I slip out and say that I don't like him," I replied, "Do you like him?" She asked, "YES I like him, how can I not. He is so tall and muscular, he is handsome, and not to mention his eggplant is massive!" I exclaimed, "you know what, when you make up your mind call me." She said as she hug up the phone.

"I should just kill myself honestly." I sighed as I came out of the covers. I looked a mess, my hair was all over the place, not to mention how my breath smelled. "Maybe if I took a shower I'll feel fresh." I grabbed my towel out of my drawer and entered the bathroom.

I dont get at all, how can a man like him settle down. 'Is he just using me for my body?' I mean he looked genuine when he was spilling out all of his feelings.

...

After taking a shower I finally felt fresh, I placed on a over T-shirt and a pear of Booty shorts. It was almost summer time so i couldn't bare sweating like crazy early in the morning.

As I was drying my hair there was a sudden knock at the door. "Who could it be?" I mumbled as I walked to towards the door while drying my hair. Once I opened the door there he was, David was standing there with a somewhat worried look.

"Are-" I quick shut the door in his face and held the door shut with my back. "What the hell is he doing her?" I asked myself, I quickly rushed to the my room looked in the mirror and I looked a mess. I quickly grabbed a hair tie and tied my wet hair into a bun. I grabbed some lip bum and applied it to my dry lips.

I smiled in the mirror and went to open the door.

"Hi sir, what are you doing here?" I asked with a wide smile on my face, "I heard you were sick so I brought you something to eat." He replied as he walked inside. "Umm, about that." I said nervously, "what?" He asked turning to look at me. "I feel all better now," I nervously chuckled. "Don't worry, I just came to give you this. How can I stay and you've made it obvious that you hate me." He said placing the bag on the kitchen counter. He patted my head and started to head towards the door. "I do Like you sir!" I blurted out, I quickly shut my mouth closed surprised by what I just said. "What?" He asked as he turned to look at me.

My heart raced as I stood there, having just blurted out my feelings for David. The room seemed to grow smaller, and the tension hung in the air. His eyes bore into mine, searching for sincerity in my words.

"What did you say?" David repeated, his voice softer this time, his gaze unwavering.

"I said... I do like you, sir," I managed to repeat, my cheeks burning with embarrassment.

He paused for what felt like an eternity, his expression unreadable. I could see a myriad of emotions flicker across his face, from surprise to uncertainty. Finally, he let out a sigh, breaking the silence.

"I didn't expect that," he admitted, his voice laced with vulnerability. "But I appreciate your honesty."

The weight of his response hung heavily in the room, and I couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and fear. Had I just made a colossal mistake by confessing my feelings? Or was this the beginning of something I had only dreamed of?

David moved closer, his hand gently cupping my cheek, and my heart skipped a beat. "I didn't come here just to bring you food," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "I came here because I couldn't stop thinking about you. That night... it wasn't just a confession of love. It was a confession of how much I care about you."

My breath caught in my throat as his words sank in. Could this really be happening? Was he saying what I had been hoping for all along? The uncertainty that had plagued me for days was slowly giving way to hope.

David leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a soft, tentative kiss. It was a promise of what could be, a promise that left me breathless and eager for the future.

Third Person Pov: "There you go, what a handsome boy." Steph smiled at her son as she fixed his coller. She tapped her cheek gesturing for him to kiss her. A little smile flashed on his face as he marked a kiss on his mother's cheek. "Be good when you're with daddy okay!" She told him, "Okay!" He rejoiced. "Quick question Jay, does daddy bring any girl at his house?" She asked, the little boy shook his head. "Every time we go out, daddy always tell girls that he has a beautiful wife." "Huh?" She looked at him confused. "Does daddy have a girlfriend?" She asked, he shook his head once again. "Then who is his wife?" She asked, "it's you mommy!" He rejoiced.

Stephanie chuckled at the thought. Ever since she found out she was pregnant with Jay, Stephanie stopped her relationship with Felix. Overall Felix was not a settler, so it was kinda funny thinking about Felix telling other girls that he has a wife.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. "Daddy is here!" She exclaimed as she got up and went to open the door. "Daddy!" Jay rejoiced as he jumped into his arms. "My sweet boy, look at you so handsome just like your daddy." He smiled pinching his cheek. Steph slightly smiled as he headed him Jay's stuff. "You know the drill." She told, "Yes ma'am!" He smiled as he grabbed the stuff. "How can a beautiful woman like you be the mother of my son," he teased as he brushed her hair behind her ears. Stephanie felt her face and ears turn red and she quickly backed away. "You guys should get going now." She told them, "okay then see you around," "BYE MOMMY!" They waved goodbye and walked away.

"What's his problem?" She mumbled looking at her hair. It's true they had stopped all kinds of relationships between them but, she still truly loved Felix deeply. After all he was the father of her child.

She grabbed her phone from the table and dialed Mary. The phone rang two times and she picked up on the second ring. "Hello?" She answered, "do you have a moment?" She asked, "Sure, what's up," Mary replied. "Well, it's about Felix. I just can't get him off my mind, every time he comes to get Jay I have this lingering feeling in my heart." She stated, "I don't want him to just take Jay, I want him to take me also. I want to live as a family but, he seems happy with what we have going on right now." She explained. "Oh my sweet Stephanie, I know how you feel. But you can't just lock those feelings inside; you have to talk to him. Maybe he might also feel the same way." She suggested, "And what if he don't?" She asked, "Then move on with your life Steph, you can't be stuck on a jerk like him. Also I'll be there for you through everything, we're friends remember!" She stated, Stephanie smiled and nodded her head. "Thank you so much!" She thanked her and ended the call.
