Chereads / My wild boss / Chapter 8 - Problems

Chapter 8 - Problems

"Do you not care at all?!" David exclaimed. Here I was standing in front of my Bosses desk arguing. Who knew they will come a day that I'll be arguing about relationships problems with my Boss.

It all started when I got a surprise call from Jasper. The guy i was supposed to go on a blind date with months ago. Me not trying to be rude i answered the call and had a small friendly conversation. When David came out of his office he heard the conversation and his thoughts went south. I mean I can't even have a decent conversation with a guy.

"Mary!" He called out my name, I turned my chair around as I ended the call. "Yes sir!" I replied as I stood up, "who were you talking too?" He asked, "A friend of mine." I replied nervously. "Please send these files down to customer service, and after that come to my office." He demanded.

I let out a big sigh as he entered his office. "What now." I mumbled as I walked to the elevator.

After sending the files down i came back up and prepared myself for what ever he was going to throw at me.

I took a deep breath then entered the office. "You wanted to see me sir?" I said as I stood by the door. "Come here." He gestured for me to com closer. I nervously walked up to desk not knowing what he was going to do or say. As I got closer he asked, "Do you have a boyfriend?" 'What, Is he serious right now. How can he ask a dumb question like that after everything i have done with him!' "How can i possible have a boyfriend after everything i have done with you." I stated, "Also not to forget you were the one that told me that, 'what belongs to you belongs to you and you hate sharing your belongings.'" I remarked, "So if i belong to you sir, how can i talk any other guy?"

"You say you belong to me, but does it really show?" "You are the one who's denying my confession." He added, "Sir I'm not denying your confession purpose, they way you came to me and the way you handled it made me very uncomfortable." "Also sir, what more do you want me to do to make you believe that my body belongs to you?!" I asked, "For goodness sake Mary, I don't just want your body, I want you and everything you have. I want this Mary." He replied pointing to where my heart is. "Then if you want my heart sir, show me that you're willing to do anything for it!" I exclaimed but the conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Please figure out your feelings sir!" I said as I walked away. When I opened the door Felix was standing there with a smile on his face. He waved at me and i just walked past him.

"Did i interrupt something?" He asked as he walked into the office.

Third person POV: "Seems like you just had a huge argument with your bae," Felix smirked as he walked up to David's desk. "I don't have time for your Jokes Felix, what do you want!" He remarked, "what i just wanted to see a friend." He smiled raising his hands defensively.

David sighed and rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the intense conversation with Mary. "Fine, Felix, what's on your mind?" he asked, clearly distracted by his own thoughts.

Felix leaned against the desk, his playful demeanor giving way to a more serious tone. "You know, Dave, I've seen you two dance around each other for weeks. It's like watching a never-ending telenovela. What's holding you back?"

David looked at Felix, his frustration evident. "I don't know, Felix. It's complicated. She's... she's special, and I messed up approaching this whole thing."

Felix raised an eyebrow, feigning shock. "You messed up, David? Now that's a surprise."

David gave him a stern look but then sighed. "I know, I know. I didn't handle it well. I just... I didn't want to push her into anything she wasn't comfortable with."

Felix nodded thoughtfully. "Well, maybe it's time to have an honest conversation, without the bravado, without the office drama."

David looked up, contemplating Felix's words. "You might be right. I just don't want to lose her, Felix. She means more to me than I ever expected."

Felix patted David on the back. "Then go get her, man. Figure this out, before i take her away from you."

David's eyes widened in surprise at Felix's last statement. "What do you mean, take her away from me?" he asked, a mix of confusion and concern in his voice.

Felix chuckled, seeing that he had grabbed David's attention. "I mean, if you keep hesitating, someone else might swoop in and steal her heart. Your little assistant is a catch, you know." "Maybe who knows, she'll go back to that blind date of hers." He teased, "I mean why would she want to be with a player boss like you, after you've brought almost every girl in your bed." He remarked, "All I'm saying is don't lose your chance buddy, or she'll be in my bed or someone else's bed cry out of pleasure." He chuckled. "The clocks is ticking my best bud." He smiled as he looked at his watch.

Mary's Pov: later that evening as I was packing up to go home David came out of the office. "Do you have anything planned?" He asked, "No" i replied focusing on packing my bag, "how about i treat you to a meal?" He suggested, "no thank you sir, I'm really tired." I told him, "have a good night sir." I bowed to him and walked out.

Third person Pov:

"Ughh!" David groaned, "Why is she being like this!"

David watched Mary walk out, frustration evident in his expression. He couldn't understand why she was being so resistant to him. He had poured his feelings out, and he was willing to do anything to make things right between them.

As the days went by, David couldn't shake the feeling of unease. He had tried to give Mary some space, but it seemed like she was becoming more distant. He realized that he couldn't let this continue; he had to find a way to bridge the gap between them.

One afternoon at a cafe near the company I and Steph decided to take a break and have a little chat. Since we were already talking i decided to ask about Felix, I mean asking wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Umm so if you don't mind me asking," I started off awkwardly, "what's your relationship with Felix?" Steph sighed as she took a sip of her Americano and placed back down. "You must have heard by now, since everyone in the office is talking about it." She replied, "But honestly, we both did what we did. I also dont regret what i did, as long I have my son beside me and as long as his happy I'm happy." She stated. "Also it's not like Felix is absent in our son's life, his always there for Jay and does anything for him." "That's one thing I love about Felix. but like they say, 'right person wrong time." She explained as she shrugged her shoulders. "Wow Steph, I admire you so much. Most women will hate a life like this but, look at you." She smiled and shook her head.

After chatting for a little while we headed back to the company and separated our ways as we went to different offices.

Once I to the office I took David's coffee into his office but, he stopped me and asked me weird questions.

"Here sir, the ice cappuccino to asked for." I said as I placed it on his table. As I was about to walk out he called my name out loud in a soft tone. "Are you still angry at me?" He asked suddenly, I turned to look at him confused. "Like I said sir I rather not talk about this in the office." I replied, "okay then, how about we meet to night and work things out he suggested, "That won't be necessary sir, there's nothing to work out." "Oh my god you know how to drive me crazy! Can you just please talk to me this once, and I promise if you don't like my idea I won't bother you any longer." He exclaimed, "okay sir." I said as I walked out.

…..

Later that evening after I was done with work David took me to a near by beach for god know what. We walked side by side as he looked at me awkwardly as if he wanted to say something. "You know this is so cliché," I told him as I stopped walking. "What do you mean by that?" He asked, "I mean isn't it obvious, you're about to make up some excuse." I replied, "Also sir, you should know I hate the beach." I told him. "Mary listen…." He stopped as cut him off, "Sir if you think I'm going to fall for your lame excuses you use with other girls think again." "I've let you in so many times but you can't see that. You're so self-centered sir, it's always about what you want and not what I need." I explained.

"I know I'm selfish and I know I'm a jerk and I know this doesn't excuse my actions but, you're the only one that I want. Ever since you entered the company I've always had my eyes on you, that's why I made you my secretary. I wanted you to be close to me day and night, I hated every time you talked and laughed with another man because you never even flashed a smile at me." She looked down at my hands and grabbed them. "That's why I moved my office to the tenth floor, I didn't want anyone looking or talking to you. But I can't stop that; you're required to look and talk to people." He stated.

"The only thing that I can do to keep you by my side forever is to make you mine. I want everything about you to be mine. your Heart, body, lips and your soul to be all mine. I want you to be my woman, I can't bare seeing you with another men." He confessed.

At that moment I my mind blanked out. I didn't know how to react. All of the words coming out of his mouth was so unbelievable.

Mary stood there, her heart pounding in her chest as David poured out his feelings. It was a side of him she had never seen before, vulnerable and sincere. She couldn't deny the intensity of his emotions, but she also couldn't ignore the complexity of their situation.

"David," she began cautiously, "what you're saying is a lot to take in. I appreciate your honesty, but we can't just erase everything that's happened. There have been misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and boundaries crossed."

David nodded, his eyes still locked onto hers. "I know, Mary, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make things right. I want to rebuild trust between us, step by step."

Mary sighed, her thoughts a whirlwind. "I need time to think about this, David. This is a lot to process. I don't want to rush into anything, and I don't want either of us to get hurt more than we already have."

David looked disappointed but understanding. "Of course, Mary. Take all the time you need. Just know that I'm serious about this, about us. I'll wait for your decision."
