Roulan and Yanmei finally finish the homework that Roulan has a problem with.
She couldn't be happier because Yanmei, whom she thought was someone who didn't care about her study, helped her until she finished.
Heck, she doesn't even know that Yanmei is a genius!
Either way, Yanmei's kind enough to help her with the problems.
As they finish, the two ask each other questions to get to know each other, sitting in front of each other while looking deeply into each other's eyes.
"Wait, you're older than me?"
"Uh-huh, what do you expect?"
Roulan couldn't help but feel a little bumped out as she thought of Yanmei as a younger sister.
"I thought you were younger for a few months, I guess."
"Oh, that's unexpected."
Yanmei expressed her inability to respond to Roulan. The girl in front shakes her head before cupping Yanmei's face, shocking the latter.
"I mean, look, you do look younger than your age."
Roulan said, analyzing the smaller woman's face, not noticing the red tint that was starting to spread around.
"Yeah, you are."
Roulan removed her hands from Yanmei's face and finally noticed the redness.
She furrows her eyebrows and puts the back of her hand on Yanmei's forehead.
"You're not sick."
"How can you say that? And I'm not sick."
"Your face is red."
Yanmei's face reddens in embarrassment, and she quickly pushes Roulan's hand away from her.
"You know, we should start the tour."
"Oh, right."
-
The tour around campus went by fast, and Yanmei felt disappointed as she couldn't get much time with Roulan as much as she wanted.
She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed when Huiqing decided to come for the rest of the tour.
Yanmei, being herself, could only ball her fists and grit her teeth, wanting to get rid of Huiqing but couldn't as it would confuse her Roulan.
And yes, she always calls Roulan hers.
"Ah, that's the end of the tour."
Roulan said, scratching her nape as Huiqing continued to cling to her arm.
Yanmei nodded, confusing Roulan with her attitude as the girl had been so noisy earlier.
"Thanks, I'll be going out."
"Oh, ok. Take care."
Yanmei glances at Huiqing and sees the girl bowing down at her with a sweet smile.
Yanmei rolled her eyes before walking away, not wanting to see Huiqing clinging, as her life depended on Roulan.
Huiqing saw her action, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion as she saw how Yanmei acted in front of her, not even hiding the fact that she has resentment towards her.
"Is she like that?"
"I mean, I like how honest she is, but that's just absurd."
Huiqing added that she was looking to Roulan for answers.
The girl shrugs as they walk out of the school premises, going to where Huiqing wants to hang out.
"I don't know, actually; she's kind to me."
"So she just doesn't like me?"
Huiqing asks, her eyebrows furrowing more, making Roulan shake her head in disagreement.
She takes her arms away from Huiqing's clinging ones and puts them around the girl's shoulder.
"I'm sure she's adjusting; Yu and Lanfen also experience her coldness."
Huiqing scoffs as she crosses her arms on her chest in response.
"Adjusting? She looks like she adjusted in your presence."
"Well, I did a great job, I guess."
Roulan chuckles awkwardly as she scratches her nape.
Huiqing groans, stopping in her tracks and looking at Roulan seriously.
"She likes you, dumbass."
"Wait, what?"
"She's kind and all to you because she likes you!"
Huiqing said, getting a little frustrated at how numb Roulan can be for someone who likes her.
"Ugh! That's why I've been walking all over you because I like you!"
Huiqing's eyes widen, her hands quickly going to her mouth as she looks at Roulan, who also has her eyes wide.
She quickly runs away, leaving the girl, whose lips slowly turn into a wide smile.
-
"She was with a girl earlier, and I heard she likes her."
"What!? That can't be; how will my daughter react to that?"
"Sir, I feel like your daughter knew."
As the voice on the phone said something, the door got opened harshly, scaring the man speaking on his phone.
"Princess! You should have knocked!"
Shihong said, putting his phone down on the table as Yanmei went in front of her father and held his collar.
Shihong was shocked but didn't stop Yanmei.
"Dad, I want to get married."
"With who? You don't even have someone."
Shihong said, furrowing his eyebrows even though he already knew who'd be Yanmei's partner.
Yanmei scoffs before removing her hands from her father, getting a little frustrated at how Huiqing held Roulan earlier.
"Princess, that's a rushed decision."
"I don't care; all I want is to have her."
Yanmei said, glaring at her father.
Shihong sighs, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Who's that?"
"Father, don't act dumb; I know you knew her."
Shihong sighed again, feeling a little disappointed that he couldn't hide much from his daughter.
"I've been investigating her."
"What do you know about her?"
Shihong stands up from his chair, walking towards the window that looks out into their backyard.
He saw how the maids took care of the garden, which his wife loved the most.
"She has a girlfriend."
"When did you start investigating her?"
Yanmei asks, getting a little confused as her father knew about the girl she's been crazy about.
She couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable as she thinks her father found out they did something unholy.
"When you step out of that hotel,"
Yanmei stops whatever she's doing, getting on the hot seat in an instant as her father looks at her.
"Yanmei, you know how much I care, so I ask one of my men to look after you."
"Tsk, that's how much you care; you ask one of you men to look after me? Is that how care is supposed to be?"
Yanmei asks, getting back to her title, as her father sighs and shakes his head.
She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed when her father said that.
"Princess, I have a business to do at that time."
"I don't care; you should go and look after me, but you busied yourself with a lot of work."
Yanmei's eyes were sharp as they continued to look at his father.
She scoffs before walking towards the door, looking back the last time with her last words.
"I'll marry her no matter what happens."
She said and closed the door loudly.
Shihong sighs, sitting back in his chair, before furrowing his eyebrows.
How in the hell did she manage to know I'm investigating?"
"Ah, sir, it might have slipped out of my mouth when I was in front of Ms. Zhao."
Shihong looks at his phone on his table with his hands balled in anger.
-
Roulan couldn't be happier, as her crush confessed to her earlier.
She forgot that they are supposed to be going to where Huiqing said they would go.
She couldn't be angry because Huiqing left her standing after confessing.
Not even letting Roulan confess her true feelings is as well.
Now, she's in her apartment, contemplating whether to call Yu and ask for Huiqing's address or text the girl because she feels shy even seeing Huiqing in front after the confession.
Yet she decided to choose the first one.
The phone continues to ring, and Roulan can feel and hear her heart as it beats faster in her chest.
"Hello?"
Yu's voice echoed through her ear, and Roulan's hands shook in the process.
"Hey, Yu."
"What's up?"
"My ceiling."
Yu's snicker was audibly making Roulan's forehead sweat in the process.
"That's a bad one."
"I'm not trying to make you laugh."
Roulan said, her hands getting moister each moment.
"Ok, what's the problem?"
"Ah, well, do you know where Huiqing lives?"
"What?"
Yu's frown was visible in her tone; she couldn't comprehend what Roulan just said, as the girl spoke faster than a cheetah in her statement.
"Slowly, please; it's hard to keep up with you."
"Well, do you know where Huiqing lives?"
Yu's mouth formed a circle as she finally understood the question.
"Well, she's like a building away from me."
"Really? Then can you tell me her apartment floor and number?"
"Oh, sure, she's on the third floor, at number forty-two."
"Thank you."
Roulan hangs up the phone, getting ready to go to Huiqing's apartment.
