Chapter 11 - Next Day

Roulan couldn't help but feel like she was being watched the whole time as soon as morning came.

She did everything from cooking breakfast, cleaning her house, and doing some more schoolwork as eyes kept following her.

Even when she's walking towards the university, it's like someone is following her.

She kept asking if it was the man from last night, but she shook her head as she thought it was not.

The man looks busy enough to mind her.

She shrugged it off though and didn't think much as her day continued until lunch came.

She went towards the cafeteria and sat down at the table with Yu and Lanfen.

Since she couldn't go to the library, she didn't have a choice but to sit down with her two annoying best friends.

"You seem bothered."

Lanfen said, observing Roulan's expression.

The girl sighs before she looks around yet again.

"What's the matter?"

Yu asks, putting down the utensils she's using.

"Nothing. Don't mind me."

"Hey, tell us."

Lanfen said, putting all her attention on Roulan.

Roulan couldn't help but tell them something she'd been noticing.

The two are in complete shock and can't help but look around, though they are still unsure if Roulan's feelings are true.

"Maybe that's your illusion only."

"Are you sure that man is not mentally ill?"

"I really don't know."

Roulan puts her head down on the table and sighs loudly.

"I mean, you did say he has a scar on his face, so he might be mentally ill."

"Or he could be a criminal."

Roulan shivers at what Yu and Lanfen said before she raises her head, showing a nervous look.

"If he is, then he should have killed me right there!"

"I mean, she does have a point."

Yu nodded in agreement.

She sighs as she sees that Roulan has a complicated problem behind her back.

"Then what does he even need from you?"

Lanfen asks, finding the situation creepy.

She couldn't help but think, What could a person like Roulan do to someone who has a criminal record?

They have known Roulan for two years, and they know everything about her.

Roulan didn't even hide anything from them, as she knew they could be trusted.

"I don't know."

Roulan groans, but she stops for a while as she remembers what the man said.

"My daughter."

"What?"

Lanfen and Yu look at her as if they didn't quite hear what she said.

Roulan gasps before she stands up, catching the attention of the students in the cafeteria.

"Roulan, what is it?"

Lanfen asks, getting a little worried about Roulan.

The girl sighs and sits down, her face full of worries as she looks at them.

"I remember him saying, my daughter."

"Ok? You're his daughter?"

Yu asks, with confusion growing in her.

Roulan shakes her head before dropping the bomb.

"No, it's like his daughter is the one I spent the night with last time."

"Oh, that's not a big deal."

Lanfen smiles as she laughs lightly but stops upon realizing something.

"Wait, his daughter was the one you spent the night with!?"

Lanfen yelled as she stood up, shock filling her face.

Roulan blushes before she rises from her seat and apologizes to the students.

"Hey, can you calm down?"

Yu tugged Lanfen down, which the girl did, and sat back down, followed by Roulan.

"But, is it really?"

"I don't know, he just said something about his daughter!"

"Oh, you are in big trouble, buddy."

Yu said and tapped Roulan on her hand.

-

"Sir, she's behaving."

"Not like the others?"

"Yes, she's not bragging about her friends."

"She seems to not like the idea."

Shihong leans in his chair as he nods and tells the man to watch the girl closely.

It has been his habit to always check on the people Yanmei would always get with each night she disappeared.

He couldn't help but feel the pain in his heart as he learns things that his daughter had been doing, and he couldn't help but want to know more about that person.

He didn't want anyone to get into her pants, but he didn't have the power to stop her.

It's her life, and she's already old enough to know what's wrong and what's not.

One time he wanted to explode, but he didn't want to because their relationship would only get worse, if ever.

So all he could do was check those people's backgrounds, and if something accidental happened, he would let them marry his daughter.

He hangs up the call as the door of his office goes flying, with his daughter coming inside.

"What's with the sudden visit, princess?"

Shihong stands up from his chair and looks at his daughter in confusion.

"Dad, can I ask you for a favor?"

"What is it, darling?"

"I want to go to school."

Shihong stops at what Yanmei asks him to do.

He smiles before approaching Yanmei.

"Princess, you finished school already, right?"

"Yes, but I really wanted to go to school."

"That's weird."

"Why?"

Shihong couldn't help but feel like something was wrong with Yanmei.

The girl, back when she was still studying, didn't want to go to any schools to study her desired course.

She wanted to be homeschooled and learn everything within their mansion.

Even if Guang asks her to join her at her university, she doesn't want to leave the comfort of their house.

Though Yanmei would like to see the outside world, she doesn't have the patience to deal with people who will only bully her.

She didn't want to hurt anyone with her anger issues.

"Nothing; I wanted to learn something."

"What is it?"

"About technology."

Shihong furrows his eyebrows.

"Didn't you graduate in that already?"

"That was two years ago."

Yanmei said, not breaking the eye contact between them.

It has been her specialty to get everything she wants.

To always make eye contact with her father for him to agree.

"Yeah, only two years ago."

"Dad, there are a lot of new skills I can learn."

"Yanmei, I can get you another teacher if you want."

"No! I'd like to go to a university!"

"Ok, I'll enroll you in Guang's university."

"It'll be boring."

Shihong furrows his eyebrows before he walks back to his chair, not wanting to continue with this conversation.

"Where would you like to go then?"

Yanmei smiles in victory as she hears what her father says.

She went towards his table, leaning forward with a big smile on her face.

"The Monarch University."

-

"Hey, the Monarch Field Trip is just around the corner; are you going?"

Roulan looks at her side, and her breathing catches up with her as Huiqing looks at her with a smile.

She smiles back awkwardly and closes her locker as she finishes grabbing her books.

"I don't really go on field trips."

Roulan said shyly, her cheeks displaying a tint of pink hue as she looked around, but not at her.

Huiqing nodded her head as she pouted, catching the attention of Roulan.

"I'd like to invite you to be my seatmate."

A silence occurred as Huiqing waited for what Roulan would say.

The girl in question could only blink her eyes as she couldn't help but wonder why Huiqing would suddenly ask to sit with her on the bus.

"Can I ask the reason?"

Roulan brings herself to ask.

Huiqing nodded and told her that her usual seatmate, Yu, had already invited Lanfen to sit with her.

So she didn't have a choice but to find someone who wouldn't bother her.

And Roulan came into her mind.

Roulan couldn't help but blush as Huiqing remembered her.

"I'll try to go."

"Really?"

Huiqing asks, her eyes sparkling like diamonds.

Roulan stares at her for a while, admiring the delicate features of Huiqing, before she smiles and nods.

"Yeah, I guess it's time to explore more."

Huiqing squeals before she throws herself at Roulan.

The taller girl was shocked, and her hands automatically went to Huiqing's waist.

"I'll make it worthy for you considering it'll be your first!"

Huiqing said, hugging Roulan tighter.

Roulan smiles as she nods, patting the back of Huiqing.

"So she's your new one?"

Huiqing removes herself from Roulan and looks at where the voice came from.

She huffs before crossing her arms over her chest.

"So what, Chang?"

Huiqing asks, raising an eyebrow at the guy.

Chang looks behind her and scoffs.

"I didn't know you turned out to be a lesbian; you're disgusting."

"You're much worse than I am; remember that."
