As Ai drags Roulan towards the cafeteria, they suddenly bump into someone that Roulan seems to be a bit familiar with.
"Oh, sorry."
Ai said as she smiled and bowed down at the girl, walking away while still dragging Roulan.
The girl being dragged looked back and saw the person they bumped into eyeing her before her eyes traveled to where Huiqing is.
"Ai, wait!"
Huiqing followed, which the girl looked at, seemingly smelling something going on.
Roulan saw the girls stop and eye them as Ai stopped and looked back at Huiqing.
"What is it?"
Ai asks, her arms folding in front of her chest as she crosses them.
Huiqing smiles before she grabs Roulan's arm, snapping the girl from her thoughts.
"I think it'll be appropriate if I'll be the one who introduces her."
Huiqing said, blocking the view of the girl from looking at Roulan as she clings to her.
Roulan felt glares at her back but decided to shrug her shoulders as she disclosed the idea of someone hating her.
-
"Yu, who's that?"
Lanfen's walk slowed down as she eyed Yanmei, who was sitting in the chair in front of Yu, arrogantly and aggressively typing on her phone.
Yu looks at her back, stands up to greet Lanfen with a hug, and whispers to her.
"New student."
Lanfen's mouth formed a circle as she nodded and went to Yanmei's side.
The girl looks up from her phone and raises an eyebrow, wanting to know who's beside her.
"Hello! I'm Cao Lanfen; we can be friends like how you are with Yu!"
She greeted the girl excitedly with a big smile on her face as she extended her hand for the girl.
Yanmei stood up from her chair, crossing her arms over her chest as she nodded her head.
"Ok, Yanmei."
"What? You're ru-"
Yu quickly went in the girl's direction and stopped her from continuing what she was about to say.
Yanmei's brow rises yet again as she looks at Lanfen with a cold look.
"You're saying something?"
Yu smiles nervously before she aggressively shakes her head no. Yanmei smirks before she nods, sitting back down in the chair.
"Don't do that; she'll do something unexpected."
"What kind of unexpected is that?"
Lanfen finally yanked Yu's hand away from her mouth as the two sat down in front of Yanmei, whispering at each other.
Yu glances at Lanfen before she leans toward the younger's ear.
"Well, earlier, if it weren't for her friend, you wouldn't be able to see me here."
"What?"
*
Yu finally reaches the cafeteria, having run fast to reach it. The principal personally went to her classroom and asked for her presence to tour the new student.
She couldn't help but feel a little irritated, as she never thought someone would transfer, and they were already in the middle of the semester.
As she went in, she saw two people making her furrow her eyebrows, as she knew there was only one student that was going to transfer.
Nonetheless, she went in and walked in their direction, bowing down to greet them.
One of the girls stands up and greets her before introducing herself as Guang, to which Yu replies with the same enthusiasm as her.
"I'm Xia Yu."
"Nice to meet you."
Guang said with a smile.
Yu asks her if she's the new student, which the girl declines and points out to her friend, who's busy looking at her phone.
"Oh, alright."
Yu went to the girl's side and wants to know more about her as they'll be schoolmates.
"Hello, I'm Xia Yu, the one who'll be touring you around the campus."
Yu said as she bent down to look at the girl.
"Yanmei."
She said, not glancing at Yu.
Yu furrowed her eyebrows as she saw how rude the girl is; she sighs before shaking her head, accidentally thinking out loud.
"How rude."
"You said something?"
Yanmei's gaze fell on Yu as the girl smiled, her face clouded with confusion.
"I never said anything."
"I heard you call me rude."
Yanmei stands up, causing Guang to go in her direction, and holds her arms.
"Hey, calm down."
"Why would I? No one dares call me that."
Guang went in front of Yu, shielding the girl from Yanmei.
She knew how Yanmei deals with this, and she didn't want to see or know she did something stupid.
"I know, but you really are rude. You should show respect to your senior."
"Tsk, we're just on the same level. I'm even older than her!"
"Then you shouldn't go to school if you didn't want anyone calling you that."
Guang said, crossing her arms at Yanmei.
The girl huffs before she sits back down, looking back at her phone yet again.
Guang sighs, and she looks at Yu, who looks a little scared at their exchange of words.
"Don't mind her; just don't call her negative names or she'll explode."
"What will she do if I do?"
Guang smiles, and you say, "You wouldn't want to know," to which Yu nods, feeling a little more scared.
"Please sit down."
Yu sat down slowly in front of Yanmei as Guang sat beside her.
"I just wanted to tell you a lot of things."
Guang said, to which Yu nodded.
"Firstly is what I told you earlier; don't let anyone call her negative names or she'll explode."
"Second, can you look after her? She's a bit of a snake."
Yu glanced at Yanmei and saw the girl glaring at Guang. She gulped, but felt like Guang already knew the girl glaring at her.
"Third, she can do anything, so be careful."
"Fourth, she gets pissed off a lot of times, and you wouldn't know the reason behind it."
"Lastly, just be careful around her."
Yu gulped, as she didn't know what to feel.
Is this even allowed in school?
Guang told her to be careful and take care of her friend; how will she be able to do so!?
It's like Yanmei is a threat after hearing what Guang said, but then she was told to watch her.
*
"That's so confusing."
Lanfen said, eyeing the girl in front of them.
The cafeteria door opens, snapping Lanfen and Yu from their conversation as they look at the three people going in.
"Huiqing's introducing her already."
"Who's introducing who?"
Lanfen looks at Yanmei, as the girl seems to be a bit interested in trying to get into their conversation.
She also puts down her phone as she looks up, eyeing the newcomers.
"Oh, Huiqing's introducing Roulan to her friends."
"For what?"
"It's normal for friends to know who's your partner."
As the words left Yu's mouth, Yanmei's face hardened, and Lanfen saw this.
She furrows her eyebrows at the sudden change of expression.
"Oh right, we'll introduce you to Roulan; she's a friend."
Yu went to look at Yanmei and was met with the icy look of the older.
She gulps before looking away, glancing at Lanfen, who's looking at her.
"Did I say something?"
"Certainly not, maybe she remembers something."
"Nice way of making my mood a tad bit alright."
Roulan felt eyes around her, but she didn't mind; that's probably people whispering with each other wondering how Roulan managed to land into someone like Huiqing.
"Hey, look who we have here."
The table in front has two more girls, chatting with each other as they wait for Ai and Huiqing to arrive.
As they heard Ai's voice, they looked up and saw the girl they expected to meet, which made them stand up from the chair.
"Hey."
"Hi."
The two bowed down at Roulan.
The girl also did the same thing before the two went fishing out their hands, asking for a handshake.
"I'm Xie Xiurong."
"Zou Changying."
"Li Roulan."
Roulan grabbed both of the girls' hands and shook them, giving them a warm smile, to which the two replied with the same smile.
"Nice to finally meet you."
"Yeah, we never expected Huiqing to find someone that fast; she kept crying these past few weeks."
"Do we really have to say that?"
Roulan glances at Huiqing and sees the girl's red face, getting a little embarrassed as her friends expose her.
Roulan giggles before she pinches the smaller girl's cheeks, causing them to get redder.
"You're cute."
The three who are watching them interact look at each other before nodding their heads.
