Strelitzia stood grabbing her skirts. She had mumbled some half-hearted excuse about needing to use the lady's room before picking her way through the crowd. She was happy for Ray'ven, it was one step closer to the crown and her cousin was sure to make a great queen. But it was hard watching her pretend that she was okay because she had to be.
Quietly she slipped into the hallway and into the restroom. Like most women's rooms, it had a sitting area with couches for lounging and a vanity for those needing last-minute touch-ups. Beyond that were the tiled floors that led to the counter and stalls. It was a hassle trying to use the bathroom with a dress on so instead she sat there on the toilet, just taking a minute to clear her head. Happy thoughts, she told herself.
