Harsh vibrations ripped through the world, causing everything to kilter off its axis. The carriage rocked with each eruption that caused her heart to beat out of tune. A high pitched ringing muffled the sounds around them even though the flashes of fire and smoke lit the curtain which painted everything in the figures of upheaval.
Vaguely she could hear garbled speech that almost resembled her name but she couldn't come back from that distant space that had her within its grasp.
