Stella's POV
I sat on the couch, listening to Alessio explain what had happened the day before. I stood there completely silent. Did I force him do it? Will he be uncomfortable from now on? Will he abandon me?
my thoughts were interrupted by him. "I know I shouldn't have done it, but I lost control. I'm truly sorry. "Please forgive me," he whispered as he took my hands in his. Huh. For what is he apologizing? It is entirely my fault.
"What's the point of apologizing? It's definitely my fault; I didn't mean to force you; I can't even remember what happened yesterday; I'm sorry," I admitted, disappointed in myself.
"Don't! Don't apologize; it wasn't your fault," he murmured, pulling me into an embrace. "Moreover, I had a great time last night," he said in my ear, making my cheeks flush.
What shade were my underwear, I wonder?
I eventually asked him if he could drop me off at my place. which he agreed to.
The car trip was completely silent. Not awkwardly silent, but peacefully silent. We arrived at my house quickly. I was going to leave when Alessio stopped me.
"Wait, Stella, I hope what occurred doesn't change our friendship," he murmured as he took my hand in his. I'm not sure why it hurt so much when he stated friendship. But I concealed it with a smile.
"Of course not; don't worry," I answered, and he let go of my hands. I exited and said my goodbyes to him.
When I entered my house, it was clear that papa and my brothers were not present. They are always busy with the mafia; even Mama is occasionally busy with the mafia.
I was on my way to my room when Mama called out, "Young woman, where were you last night?" I moved my gaze to her. Oh no, I completely forgot to notify her.
"Umm, I was at Emilia's house; it was already late to leave; she invited me to remain; I declined her offer, but she begged me to stay, so I couldn't-" Mama cut me off in the middle of my rambling.
"Stop with the lies; I knew exactly where you were," she remarked as she approached me, making me nervous. "Then tell me," I replied.
"That boy of yours was responsible enough to notify me that you got your ass so drunk." she added making my eyes widen, but it was so lovely of him. But where did he get Mama's phone number?
"Uh oh, it's not like that anymore because I passed out; he let me stay at his place." I told her to quit thinking about anything else. Yet her expression indicated that she didn't believe a word I said.
"Oh, the hickeys say other things," she smirked, making me numb.
I'm not sure how I missed the hickeys. I remained silent since I didn't know what to say. "Don't be worried; he's a good person. I am pleased you were successful in finding a worthy candidate." She stated.
"No, mama, nothing like that exists. He made it absolutely clear that we are only friends." My eyes welled up as I spoke.
"Honey, I can tell you like him, and I can tell by his acts that he likes you as well. And did he look after you after what occurred yesterday?" she inquired.
I wanted to tell her that nothing like what she was imagining had happened, but doing so would have made things much more awkward.
"Yeah, he said he looked after me, and he even had me wear his sweatshirt because my outfit was uncomfortable," I explained.
"Don't be concerned, dear; he obviously likes you. Believe me, a mother's word is never wrong, "I nodded and told her I was leaving for my room but stopped.
"How did he get your phone number?" I asked her.
"Don't you know Alessio is one of your papa's most beloved mafia leaders ?, and he even asked their family to dinner tonight" Mama said and gave me a wink.
