Chapter 2 - The search for answers

For a week after the reunion, Sarang couldn't shake off the guilt of not being able to save Michael. She decided to uncover the truth and went to Michael's home to speak with his parents.

"Excuse me, I'm Sarang. I was a classmate of Michael's. I'm sorry to bother you, but I wanted to ask if you knew anything about Michael's death. I have a feeling there's more to the story," Sarang said.

Michael's parents looked at each other, the pain still fresh in their eyes. "We're sorry, Sarang, but the court dismissed the case years ago. There wasn't much more we could do," Michael's mother said softly.

Sarang felt a pang of sadness, but she didn't lose hope. She went to her school, hoping to find any clues that might have been missed during the investigation. Memories from her childhood flooded back as she walked the halls of her old school.

She searched the school archives for hours, but couldn't find anything suspicious. Feeling disappointed, she headed back home.

As she was walking, lost in thought, she bumped into a man. "I'm so sorry," she said, looking up at him.

The man smiled kindly. "No problem at all. Are you okay?"

Sarang nodded, feeling embarrassed. "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you."

As she continued on her way, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Michael's death than anyone knew. She couldn't explain it, but she felt like there was something she was missing.

A week later, she went to visit Michael's parents again, but this time she didn't tell them about her dreams. She just wanted to be there for them and let them know she cared.

As she left their home, she thought she saw someone watching her from across the street. She dismissed it as her imagination and continued on her way.

But as she was walking home, she bumped into the same man she had encountered before. "You again," he said with a smile.

Sarang looked at him, recognizing him from somewhere. "Do I know you?"

The man's smile faded, and he looked away. "I don't think so. I'm just passing through."

Sarang couldn't shake the feeling that she had seen him before, but she didn't push it. She just nodded and continued on her way, feeling more determined than ever to uncover the truth about Michael's death.
